Whee
Glad you found some nice help there!

Dress shopping completed with my bride friend. She ended up with a beautiful Olec Cassini dress from David's Bridal. We had a wonderful consultant at David's who left us alone and just brought dresses my friend really liked. Went to Alfred Angelos and they were terrible. I would never never go to that store again. We tried on BM dresses at David's too and now she's wanting to have everyone wear different dresses or alternate between two.

One shoulder in plum [davidsbridal.com]
And cowl neck dress also in plum [davidsbridal.com]. This dress makes me look like I have an impossibly small waist! bounce

If you gals happen to see anything like these two styles elsewhere, please let me know! The other BM I went with did not seem happy about the price point. I am fine with $100 for either dress because it has many wear again potential.

Porda - she really liked the Mod Cloth dress you suggested, but the other BM hated it. Le sigh. Thanks for trying! And BTW - she's having my DBF be one of the groomsmen, much like your situation, but reversed Stick Out Tongue

she went for plum, not lapis? david's bridal plum is SO not 'royal purple'. lapis is blue-undertoned. plum is very red-undertoned! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) goes to show how many different interpretations there are!

anyway, glad you got her to try on dresses! i had good experiences at all the davids bridals i went to as well. which one did you go to? one thing i do love about david's vs other bridal shops is that they often have your size in stock (or something similar), so you can see how it'll actually fit on you. i am in love with a lot of their white by vera styles.

Yep, she said no to lapis. I think it's because the color was kind of blue-ish in the photos that were taken? I am afraid things might not look super put together (color theme-wise if it's all different types of purple), but that's her deal. I just want her to decide on a dress so we can buy it already.

We went to the one in Burbank. Our awesome consultant went on break and the one that subbed was pretty crappy, but glad that was only for like 30 min. They didn't have the dress she wanted in her size so I'm kinda bummed that the consultant didn't get the commission, assuming they went via commission. She did find it online though. David's had dresses that were of closer sizes to her where at Alfred's everything was like a 26 or something very large. She's a 00 Faint And people were poaching the dresses she was trying on! OMG

I am seriously glad her dress shopping is done with! Every dress was like "it's gorgeous" "I love it." I did not think dress shopping would poop me out, but it sure did!

yeah, lapis is blue toned, but i thought "royal" implied a blue tone. their plum is very reddish - i guess i didn't love either color (wished they had a mix of the two!) when i was looking. and it won't matter - my tablecloths were more like the DB plum color while the dresses were darker. it's not a big deal. i actually like the multiple shades of purples - i think it ends up looking nice together.

you are very lucky that she bought a dress in 1 try. it took me a very long time... my poor moh friend was very tired of having to drive out to see me try on dresses. lol. and it wasn't like they looked bad - i was just super picky.

your friend is a 00 in DB?? my, she is tiny!! i think i was somewhere in between a 4 and a 6 in their dresses - the waist of a 6 but the rest was 4. the vera ones in 4 fit me perfectly (i guess those are built for more straight figures like mine while DB were more for curvy figures so i would have had to get the 6 and take the hips and chest in). i never tried oleg but i'd assume sizing was similar to the other brands they carry.

laugh out loud That's what I thought too!! Oh well. I'm sure everything will turn out nicely. Just hoping to get the BM dresses done and not have to worry nod

laugh out loud I think it's cause I was tired of hearing "I don't know" or "they're all equally pretty." So I told her how the dresses made ME feel and asked her a bunch of questions. The one she chose gave me chills! It was so pretty on her. Other BM friend didn't help and said that they're all pretty and agreed with everything the bride said and I played devil's advocate shake head She was probably also feeling pressured about the short dress turnaround time, so I'm glad she already picked one!

Yeah! A dress she tried at DB in 0 fell off on her so I had to still clip it! She's very much like a stick so that dress she picked gave her nice curves! It's amazing the right dress can do so much.

I must confess, when I was looking at the dresses in general, I couldn't imagine liking any of them. Everything was so BLAH to me and I was just so indifferent. I hope that's not the case when I go dress shopping in the future!

You looked AMAZING in the dress you went with, so all those trips paid off! nod

I saw restaurant.com has a code for $5 for a $25 certificate. Can I do better by waiting a day or two or is that about as good as it gets?

Love the drop waist dress. It's not super sexy like some of the dresses but it is really cute on!

I have gotten them for $2 before. They often go for $3. I would wait.

It is tts but made to be a bit baggy so you know how that goes. It isn't as baggy as I expected though. The length is fine. I forgot where it hit exactly on me but krusty would approve Teehee! I'll tale some pics tomorrow. It is cute. Could be dressed up or down.

i think i need it then. i don't want to order until you post a pic, so hopefully it's still on sale tomorrow. so if it fits baggy, i'd be an xs. i might order it blindly with reward. i have no return pile so far, so i guess i'm intending to keep it.

I have also seen it for as low as $2. Make sure you take a look at the restaurants listed. I only have two restaurants that are within 15 miles of my house that are on there and I don't like either place.
