Dog chew toys that don't get them in trouble: Add your dog's favorites! (Thanks, daisee)

1. Fun stuff
- We leave empty cardboard boxes for the dogs to chew up. Also these loofah bones (cleans their teeth while they rip them apart) and TONS of cat toys (with catnip). (from veritableqndry)

2. Hard-to-destroy stuff

-At dollar tree they carry "milkbone" toys... she beats the hell out of them and still they hold up. (not to mention their only a buck if they destroy them) (from wakethewicked2)

- I've had good luck with these -- the avatar dog has destroyed everything but this kind. They come in different sizes and shapes and you can put treats inside for them to dig out: http://www.petmountain.com/produc...-kong.html . I get mine at a local farm store, but I'm sure you could get them at places like Pets Mart if you don't want to buy online. (from callpocket)

- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:
  • Busy Buddy bouncy bone - We gave up on the rawhide inserts. She rips those out in seconds but likes the toy without them anyhow and cannot kill it.)
  • Everlasting treat ball -Again she pulls out the expensive inserts right off the bat...but she likes bouncing the toy. You can also hide dog kibble in the middle for the dog to try to get out, which entertains him for awhile. She hasn't managed to rip this one at all yet even though it feels soft and flexible.
  • Jolly Ball: - Ours is bigger than the one at this link. It's hysterical to see her stick her snout in the hole and wave the ball in the air. It's bigger than her head. She runs around the house with it on her snout, growling and acting like a maniac. I don't know why she can't chew it up, but she can't.
  • Then there are big Nylabones, which she can kill eventually. But they take a long time to die. (from olu)

Not my dog, but I guess my SIL's dog ate their brand new controller for the XBox 360 they got for Christmas yesterday - thought I'd share the story...although I think its rather funny myself

I woulda gotten a Wii.....
Probably means I am mean, but I thought that story was funny too laugh out loud

What my dog ate today: lots of dog biscuits while she was with us snowshoeing in the mountains. She loves the snow but she got cold and tired in the end and needed some bribes....goldens don't like to work too hard for too long. Smilie

Happy New Year, dog folks!

I think I see a theme here: Is there a green shamrock hat and tie coming for St. Patty's day in March?

Aw, that's too bad. I've always wondered how folks keep their dogs from eating those dog outfits though.

The flashing light from her ball:
She got this great bouncy ball that flashes when you bounce it. She was so excited. She raced all around the house with it, boucing it around. She also liked chomping down on it to make it flash in her mouth. After a few too many chomps it stopped flashing. She keeps tossing it around and waiting for it to flash again...but no luck. Gus did the same thing.. so I gave the other bouncy balls to the nephews...

A few weeks later, when he visited them, he saw one and went nuts.. he was so excited.. he was a spaz... and.. he either did not learn from his mistake, or... those things just taste good... and killed it...
