Dog chew toys that don't get them in trouble: Add your dog's favorites! (Thanks, daisee)

1. Fun stuff
- We leave empty cardboard boxes for the dogs to chew up. Also these loofah bones (cleans their teeth while they rip them apart) and TONS of cat toys (with catnip). (from veritableqndry)

2. Hard-to-destroy stuff

-At dollar tree they carry "milkbone" toys... she beats the hell out of them and still they hold up. (not to mention their only a buck if they destroy them) (from wakethewicked2)

- I've had good luck with these -- the avatar dog has destroyed everything but this kind. They come in different sizes and shapes and you can put treats inside for them to dig out: http://www.petmountain.com/produc...-kong.html . I get mine at a local farm store, but I'm sure you could get them at places like Pets Mart if you don't want to buy online. (from callpocket)

- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:
  • Busy Buddy bouncy bone - We gave up on the rawhide inserts. She rips those out in seconds but likes the toy without them anyhow and cannot kill it.)
  • Everlasting treat ball -Again she pulls out the expensive inserts right off the bat...but she likes bouncing the toy. You can also hide dog kibble in the middle for the dog to try to get out, which entertains him for awhile. She hasn't managed to rip this one at all yet even though it feels soft and flexible.
  • Jolly Ball: - Ours is bigger than the one at this link. It's hysterical to see her stick her snout in the hole and wave the ball in the air. It's bigger than her head. She runs around the house with it on her snout, growling and acting like a maniac. I don't know why she can't chew it up, but she can't.
  • Then there are big Nylabones, which she can kill eventually. But they take a long time to die. (from olu)

we've been letting tails roam the house instead of locking him in his "house" when we leave for a couple of hours....errands, dinner, that kind of stuff. I feel bad that he is in there all day and then we decide to go out for dinner that night, so I dont like putting him back in there (not like he seems to mind, really).

ANYWHO... past 5 times have been VERY successful... no accidents or anything destroyed... this time we came home and plastic bags were toren up all up the stairs and into the living room. apparently he doesnt like when we pick up his poop with fruit bags from the store.

Mommy (me) had a heart attack when she saw the bags and Tails didnt come running to great her. I thought he had choked to death and soffocated. Nope, just tired from his escapades and out cold on the couch.

bastard... I am still finding plastic bag!

Our dog likes to eat cat turds coated in cat litter. I keep telling my wife to just put dog food in the catbox and then she will never have to scoop the poop.

TeeheeHi hawaiiandawn Wave

What my dog ate today: First issue of a free subscription to Cosmopolitan. When I signed up I actually didn't realize what Cosmo covers Bigeye . Thought it was a fashion/women's magazine, is all.

My kids read the mail. So I had the mag out to remind me to cancel. But all that's left now is half a picture of Natalie Portman sort of covered up by a hat. Will have to wait till next issue to get the subscriber number off the mailing label. This one is confetti.

I want to share..my Daughter's dog (12 lbs) ate a bar of Starbucks Chocolate right before Christmas...cost 160.00** to take dog to the vet to get them to puke his guts out...also in his yukky mess was one slice of pizza (Im guilty..I was hoping it would diffuse the chocolate). The vet tech was also puzzled as to some wormy looking things in the mess..after some thought we realized that he had eaten the onions my daughter threw away from her In-n-out Burger...This dog is also notorious for "finishing" breakfast for everyone when I go to drop kids off at school. Such a brat...
