I suppose can continue the conversation from the Funniest Pics thread here, along with any other car talk..
That enzo is awesome. I spotted a 599GTO at F1 as well. There were a few people leaning up against it taking pics. If I was the owner I'd have been pissed.
BMW is bringing back the straight 6 for 2013 (or maybe 14).. They're doing a twin turbo version in the name of fuel economy. There was rumor about there being a third turbo in there too.

The SLS is pretty nuts, I have seen a couple on the streets and they sounds almost musclecar-ish. I also saw an Enzo at the car show (it was actually Cars & Coffee in Irvine CA which is pretty well known). I would like an older M3, the last one that had the inline-6. I have never been in one but they seem like they would be a lot of fun. Not really practical in New England though.
We should start an official "Car Chat" thread. |

I just wanted to share a few pics from a PCA rally I joined in last weekend. It was a good time and after the stops to get everyone there was about 60 cars. It lasted about 10 hours
This one was so different and in great shape.
I loved the headlights on this one. The owner special ordered them and said they are common in Europe.
This....was amazing!!!! I love the fact that it comes race ready with the cage in the back. The color combo with the red accents is perfect. By the time we had everyone together and driving in a line, THIS is the car you could hear. I mean they all sounded amazing but this one could be heard over all the others. I'm thinking I may like one.
This was our second stop to meet a group. We are the first red Boxster halfway down.
This is a collection of over 500 cars from a car dealership that opened in 1946. The owner supposedly only believed in selling new cars and every car traded in was stored on a farm and never sold. Also, whenever the next year's new models came out he would no longer sell the leftover models from the prior year and those were also parked and there they have sat until now.
Rutledge and Tanner from Top Gear are on the History Channel doing at least part of the show I guess. They just showed Rutledge checking out a mid-60's Chevy truck with 5 miles on it that he is going to bid on. It has a tree growing in the bed. These vehicles, both the trade-ins and the brand new ones have mostly been just sitting outside in a field and not preserved or taken care of in any way. I did see some coverage of them taking some from out of barns or other buildings so not all of them were outside but were still covered with layers of dust. One of the buildings had caved in at some point and some vehicles were damaged.
Crap, they just showed a row of 5 or 6 60's Chevy trucks all with less than 12 miles. I want to be there.
1958 Chevrolet Cameo Pickup with 1.3 miles. Not even 13, that's 1.3 miles. This was one that was in a building that the roof fell down on top of it.
They just sold a 1963 Corvette pedal car for $16,500.
I think the Apache above might be next to be sold.
*edit* Oops, I heard them say Apache but I was thinking Cameo. I think the Apache coming up is from the 60s

Opening bid was $50,000 and it was over $100,000 in less than 10 seconds.
Sold for $140,000. Wow
5.4 miles
And the Corvette pace car is on the block next.
They said the original graphics package was never installed and it is in the car.

Oh, and it only had 4.4 miles, not 5
I could have been tempted at that price.

I think the selling price was $10,900. Something close to that anyway.
