Target Chit Chat

This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

So.... drop dh off at work, pull in and see our friend's car in the drive. Hmm... weird... go inside to find oldest DD had cut her arm when trying to put away dishes. The glass insert in the cabinet came out and just fell onto her arm. Ugh... Called around before I found someone who would do stitches without making us go to the ER. *sigh* 3 hrs with a very cranky, un-napped 2 year old and a suffering teen.

I'm tired. Hope you are all having a great day.
hug hope your day gets better and your daughter's arm will be ok.

Oh happy day... this was a reg T and they were by the first set of registers at one end of the store. I just did a quick in/out, so I didn't check all the registers, but from what I could see, it was only this one spot that had them. It was as if they swapped out the T GCs for these GCs at the first register but left the T GCs at all of the other registers.

I didn't get close enough to check the activation fee, sorry. I was worried that I might actually squeal out loud if I touched one Teehee Anyway, they were both T branded and they came in $25, $50, and $100 denominations.
I would have squealed for sure... Teehee Thanks for the info

Natch!!! completely forgot to look for the GCs laugh out loud Hit the applesauce section HARD Blush3, men's shorts, etc.

Does anyone else forget their best laid plans once they walk in the doors??My mind goes blank-I think it's the sight of all that red, those circles, and of course the Glade aisle Coverlaugh

Went to Publix and completely forgot why I was there. Finally remembered at least the Stove Top coupons, but there were none to be found.

Who was looking for the Nature Valley yogurt bars? Our Publix has them....Scratchchin

What's good at Kmart right now. Hit the usuals (Chinet, Kleenex, etc. small sizes fit fine today) but couldn't remember what else to look for since I don't have Glade 01s Sadwalk

I am glad that I actually was the first to post something that you all liked (about the Target Visa and American Express) I wish I could give back more, but I never find anything. I was actually quite surprised to be the first to post about them! I did look at the Visa Gift cards and they had $6 fees. I am not sure about the Amex.

Speaking of that...I noticed at the store last night that the clearance stickers were white instead of red now! Very easy to miss!

(Just crossposted to Target's DealTalk thread, as followers of both threads have been helping me)

Hello! Great news! FireflyMuze found me some of my seashell table scatters! She found 3 to be exact! How wonderful.

You guys have been so friendly and helpful, even as a non-regular to this thread, i felt welcomed and that really made me feel great. It feels like a community, and we're all trying to help one another out. (all warm and fuzzy inside now!)

YAY! Anyways, thanks so much for the congratulations and the honest help toward helping me find my wedding favors. Much appreciated! I'll be around here and there, as I've been a longtime Target addict and slickdealer (though I tend to stick mostly to hotdeals/coupons threads), I think i have a lot to learn from you!

A definite thanks for that... I'd like to think that I'd have noticed them in my store, but they are not in an obvious location. I'd have been kicking myself if I'd walked past them for months and not noticed them.

Glad someone was able to help you out. Contrary to what some may say, the T folks are usually pretty friendly and willing to lend a hand. And we love a good clearance hunt LMAO

Thank you for all the well wishes!

DD is doing okay. It's not totally awful, but definitely an exhausting experience. The baby was so so so rotten-cranky because of missing her nap (and not gettting a great nights sleep before), but then utterly adorable when big sis was getting stitched up. Big sis was wincing while they injected the numbing stuff, and everytime she'd wince or make a face, the baby would just tear up and start to wimper and cry a little. She practically lept out of my arms so that she could lay across her sissy and lay her head on her chest and pat her shoulder. She would pat her and say, "oh sissy... I go'cha..."

I'm exhausted but stubbornly don't want to go to bed yet. I think I may make myself a cup of tea so that I have an excuse to stay up a little longer. I wish it was coffee, but the dumb coffeemaker is broke!! Grrr... plus I don't have any coffee - so that doesn't help. lol. Where, o' where, is that archer farms coffee TQ!?! Isn't it about time for one??

I'm really ready for some blessings to rain down on me... blessings that aren't in disguise - lol. I'm sure there's some blessings in all the mess we've had this week. I'm just not good at uncovering them all.

Moving forward...

are there IPs for Motts? I don't typically buy applesauce, but it's nice to have on hand for baking or quick kid snacks.

I've wasted a lot of time on that people of walmart site - lol. Thankfully, I did not find myself there. But, there's a few folks I'd almost swear I've seen before (and that pic of the family dressed in red by the redbox eerily resembles my ex)

I think there were some other things I was going to write, but *poof*

Oh, yeah - about the walking in the doors and getting amnesia syndrome (witdagas for short laugh out loud )- I *have* to carry a list, and even then, I'm prone to forget an awful lot on my list.

No way, I hit the doors and I am on a mission. I get my cart and check out the cashier selection. That is numero uno before I place ANYTHING in my cart. I have my envie in order before I leave the house and my list is printed on the outside of the envie. I NEVER shuffle coupons in the store unless I pic up a peelie, hangtag or tearpad that I add to my order. Oh and I never add to my order unless I find a peelie, hangtag or tearpad. I seriously can fill my cart in 30 minutes and am out the door in less than 45. Last week it took me 1 hour from my doorstep and back to complete a large run. Store is about 3 miles away in California traffic.

I need to take lessons from you. I can lose 2 hours in T very easily. It's highly disconcerting.

I do remember why I originally came in here. I had been thinking (about a lot of things) and the word "hornswoggled" popped into my mind. I was going to attempt to use it, but just haven't been able to be clever enough about it right now... lol. It's another one of those words you don't hear often, but (I think) you should...

Yup. That's the extent of my valuable input for the day.

1. Teaching the lesson: don't leave your 13 year old home with a 2 year old and a kamikazi piece of cabinet glass.
2. And: try to find creative ways to use rarely heard words like "hornswoggled" in a forum post.
