This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

mofome~ not trying to scare you but if they have the flu then they will be better off getting Tamiflu the first 48 hours (from what my doc says)

My 10 yr old had the swine flu and the doc said he saw one kid who only had a cough..no fever or anything and he tested positive. The parent caught it before it got too bad. I thnk you would feel better if you had them checked, especially since its Friday and the weekend is upon us. Just my opinion. I know it sux to have to take off. Can you make an appt after work?
Well...I called the advice nurse and she told me to only bring them in if the fever/sore throat last for 72 hours. So that would be Monday. And you can bet that I would NOT be calling off...DH would be taking them in no matter what he thinks. This just sucks!
I've heard the test itself is pretty awful...and that most cases resolve on their own.
Crap, I don't know what to do!

Secret Ever hear of this place called Target? laugh out loud I got both of my boys' there.

Fuze

So I went tonight and my boyfriend was there and he gave me a wave when I walked in. The LOD that was standing by him said to him "I see you're at it again" laugh out loud Blush
Then I went to check out and same LOD was still by my bf and an older lady grabbed me and said "ready to checkout?" I was like shake head but I went anyways. She was fine, always is now that she no longer tries to tell there is no such thing as a Target Web. Rolleyes2 But I did forget to use my damn Mr. Clean coupons! Annoyed He and I are not getting along these days!

Found $2 Clorox Greenworks hangtags.

Also pricematched Snow White to the Toys R Us ad...easy as pie!

Do you know how many times I forget coupons...too many times!

Also, how did you do the price matching? Did you walk up there with the dvd? Did you buy it and then ask them to price match it? How much did u get it PMed for? Let me know! hug

Thinking of entering DD in the Gap model search for the Baby Girl category... Scratchchin Not sure if I want to do it though. Has anyone entered their kids in this kind of contest thingie before?
Quote from Sharon526 :
I'm going to enter my son. Haven't gotten around to it yet. You have until 10/22. I have to take some updated pictures first. Too bad you can't use portrait studio pictures, because those are always super sweet.
Here is another "easy" opportunity to enter your child to a contest - The Balloon Time "Put A Face On Fun" contest (click here [putafaceonfun.com] for more detail).
The winner will be featured on a Balloon Time package and will receive $1,500 toward his or her education. Fifty first prize winners will receive a Balloon Time 30 Helium Balloon Kit.

Here [target.com] is price-matching policy from the Target website.
"In an effort to ensure that our checkout lanes are efficient and quick for our guests, well handle price matches at our Guest Service desk. If a guest wants to do a price match in the checkout lane, our team members will ring up an item at the current price and then direct the guest to the Guest Service desk to do the price adjustment.
Price matching will apply to current, local print ads for in-store products only. Our price-match policy is not applicable to Target.com or other online ads.

I did it at checkout. I just asked her about it, she called over the LOD who told her just to change the price. He did look at the $19.99 price in the TRU ad then asked how much theirs was ringing up then said "then we can do it". I don't know if that meant if it was a bigger difference, they couldn't (or wouldn't) do it at checkout, I Dontknow, but I got Snow White for $9.99, so I was happy!

The DH texted me that the boys are bouncing off the walls at home, so I guess maybe the worst is over...we'll keep an eye on them and see how they do over the weekend.

When you leave all your boys (including your DH) home, they will end up either all sitting on the couch and watching football or bouncing off the walls! LMAO

Text your DH back and encourage them to keep bouncing to wear off all the energy. When you go home from work, they will all be tired and ready to go to bed. Enjoy your sanity and peace at work! Go take a nice, long, relaxing lunch break! hug

Wave Happy Friday to you and everyone else! I'm so glad we have the weekend. Bummer we don't have Monday off though.

Thanks for the details of the contest! DD is 2, so she couldn't enter this one (ages 3-11), but I will keep it in mind for next year!! hug

laugh out loud So true! Or playing video games!

I did take a long lunch...relaxing?...um...I went to Target...not exactly relaxing, but in the end: rewarding! and Doh I keep forgetting to look for Amex/Visa GC's! I'm an idiot!

Posted in Deals too but I got Elmo Live for 50% off ($29.98). My sister wanted this for her youngest, so I think she'll be happy! There were a couple more, so maybe they'll hit 75%!

I know they are expiring soon, but does anyone have $4 Schick TQs to trade?

thank you everyone for the replies Smilie I haven't had time to go to the stores yet but will definitely make time tomorrow. Went to T yesterday and found lots of electronics (digital picture frames, headphones, ipod station, etc.) and videogames on clearance. Got a spongebob DS game for a nephew for 4.98.

DS wants to be snake eyes from GI Joe. Thankfully, T has that costume Smilie

Mofome, I saw those elmos too. There were some powerwheels on clearance as well but they are still at 30%.

Found some .50c off one haagen dazs ice cream bar tearpads. Does anyone know if T carries single bars of this? I keep on forgetting checking the freezer Frown

Sorry about all the sick kiddos, wishing healthy thoughts everyone's way!

So, I've decided I have the energizer baby...he keeps going and going and going and going. His good naps last week were a fluke that I am sure were a result of his viral eye gunk he was fighting. This week has been horrible!!!!!!!!! He naps for no longer than 5-10 minutes once placed in his crib then wakes up Crying2 I try to calm him while he is still in his crib, but he isn't having it. I get him up and try to rock him back to sleep and he is by this time pissed off at the world. Once I get him calmed down I might get 5-10 minutes of happy baby then he is fussy and Crying2 again since he is over tired. LJ will sleep for 3-4 hours when we finally get him down at night then another 2-3 after his first waking/nursing. Then maybe another 1-2 and he's up for the day...which I call the vicious cycle of no sleep. Normally he doesn't fight his morning naps but he started off kung foo fighting his first nap at 9 this morning...I texted DH it's starting earlier today and he laugh out louded back, I have a Xanax in my sock drawer (meaning laugh out loud for the baby). I did NOT laugh out loud back and said that mommy would rather take it! (not that I would in a million years since I am nursing)

I am by no means a textbook type of parent, but I am at my wits end with this one. I get NOTHING done all day and am exhausted mentally, physically and emotionally. I did what I never thought I would do in a million years...I went to Barnes and Noble and bought "The Happiest Baby on the Block." Now, the challenge will be to find the time to read it. Teehee

This sounds like what we went through to a T. Andreas didn't start really "napping" until after 2 months and then only b/c I "forced" the issue. It took months of working w/him to get it down and even now we still have rough days.

The Karp book is a useful one though you might also read ugh, what's it called, author is Weissbluth. Mama2cole recommended it to me. "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child." According to him, regular naps don't develop in most kids 'til after 2 months.

I don't know if that will make you feel better or worse. Embarrassment

hug hug aww Thrifty.. hang in there. I can totally sympathize with you. My last DD has been the worst sleeper. My other 3 were all pretty good, but she has been so different. She is 20 months and still has bad nights (last night she was up at 4 am and 6 am).. I remember when I first brought here home I thought I would never sleep. I thought I felt so bad because I was so much older with her than the rest, but I think it was just her bad sleeping. I agree with SBH, sometimes I thinks it takes some babies longer to get into the nap/sleep cycle. Some seem to do it very young, and others take much longer. I am not a textbook mom, but have managed to survive through 4 of them now.. Sometimes, 'I just did what had to be done for her to get some sleep... at times that meant sleeping on mommy or daddy.. sometimes being carried around in the sling while she slept. Even if I didn't get to sleep, I felt more rested and calm just by having some quiet time, and she was happier with getting some sleep.. Will he sleep anywhere?? or just not in his crib?
And I am guessing you have tried the obvious things like background noise or music?
