This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Yeah...I was actually surprised they had the plush Scooby Doo costume I wanted for DS.

So both boys have fevers now and oldest DS has a cough. DH is acting all Annoyed that I want to have them checked out at the Dr. and told me that I need to take a day off from my brand spanking new job (while he is not working) to take them b/c he doesn't think they need to go! It all depends on how they are tomorrow but wtf is his issue? Oldest DS needs a flu shot anyways.
Gosh, hope your kiddos get better soon! Sucks that DH is being hard headed. hug

Ummm - guys are like that I think!!! I am sorry!!! I hope that your kiddos are ok! Sending HUGS!

My oldest daughter went to the doc today cause she is still sick and the doc said H1N1 for her - which prob means that all the younger kiddos who are sick as dogs at the moment have it too. Ah well - this too shall pass!

*snip*

On a happy note my lil Graciella just took 13 steps in a row (jerkily and stopping between about every third step) but she did not fall down/sit down ---- this is the most number of steps she has taken at once Smilie Bittersweet ... she is growing too fast!
Hope your DD feels better soon! hug Aw, sucks that the other kids might have it too. Frown

woot for little G walking!! I totally understand the growing up too fast dealio! My older sis saw some recent pics of DD and was shocked at how much older she looked! She was saying she couldn't believe she doesn't even look like a baby anymore.

Ariel & Mama2C - CUTE costumes!!! I haven't gotten that far as my ds wants to be Sonic (which means making a costume I can't find one) and so far I haven't even been able to find a sweatshirt & sweatpants made of that royal bright blue ... this will be one of those impossible costumes. SIGH lol

BFShop - Wow I can't believe that it is almost time already --- Oct 19th that is super cool! I know that you were worried you might not make it to that date (for y'all dual B-day) ... I am rooting for ya!! Sorry to hear about the peeing thing hug Hang in there that is right around the corner!!!!

Adrianna - I am so sorry - I am sending HUGS & POSITIVE thoughts!!!! I would have thought that if she is in active labor with those conditions the ER would HAVE to take her by law ... I thought they could not turn away life-threatening situations??? Keeping her in my thoughts!!!

On a happy note my lil Graciella just took 13 steps in a row (jerkily and stopping between about every third step) but she did not fall down/sit down ---- this is the most number of steps she has taken at once Smilie Bittersweet ... she is growing too fast!

LOL about the Ben 10 - I am also not a fan ... but it is better than that stupid Bakugan Battle whatevers!!!!! I have tried to convince my son that he wants to be a Pirate and a super hero or even Ben 10 --- something I can find a costume for ... NOPE it has to be Sonic the Hedgehog! Grrr!

Oh no I am sorry your lil one is sick too!!! I hope that you have healthy kiddos soon!!! Yeah - it is so nice when they all go down with bugs --- and are at different parts of the cycle .... the doc said to watch the youngest 3 and if they get worse instead of better bring them in (hopefully the barf brigade portion of this illness has passed) LOL Lil G is about 14 months now but she spent a lot of time dealing with kidney issues in the hospital for the first year of her life ... so taking her first steps at this age seems slow I know ... but it was a huge deal for her! She was so proud of herself Smilie But they really do grow too fast! I need a couple more!!!

How are you doing? Finding any hours to shop??? The day of my Target flop I tried the Kids First DVD's at TRU === they did not ring up B2G1 free ROFL it was just one of those days!!!!

Sun- I know don't you wish you could slow the aging process??? Oh and did you decide to enter your DD in the Gap thing? How did it go?

So far we are not at the barfing stage, however, all six older ones have asthma.. so I am thinking that is possibly what is making him sick Frown Aww your poor baby... is she ok now? Are her kidneys functioning now? all my kiddos are late walkers which I don't mind because it means less mess LMAO You can have a couple more for me Wink I love babies and toddlers... but when they get older they get too much mouths LOL I am watching House and am watching about a girl was going to give her newborn up for adoption to the hospital adminstrator... then decided not to at the end of the process.

I am NOT finding any time to shop and I know the Christmas ticker is going lol... I hope you have some better Targeting and some good shopping time Wink

HUGS!!

Maybe some of you Target experts can figure this out. Yesterday I bought 4 Airwick I-motions larger kits. All of them are the same thing Cool Linen & White Lilac with the UPC #062338822891. However, on the receipt one is listing as item #003040141 for $5.02 and the other three are item #003041229 for $5.99 each. Those grouped together for a total of $17.97, and I bought no other Air Wick things so I am confused. I have looked and looked at these packages and can find no differences, but figure it shouldn't make any difference since all the UPC's are the same.
Quoting myself here, because I had the same experience in the self check-out at Walmart. I bought 3 of these Cool Linen & White Lilac Airwick I-motion larger kits with UPC #062338822891 same as above. They are on sale for $6.00 each. The first one scans fine at $6.00, but the second one scanned at $4.98 and even had a different description on the receipt. The third one scanned fine at $6.00. On the receipt the one for $4.98 is listed as FMREF CLWL and the ones that scanned for $6.00 are listed as AWFMIM LINEN. All three kits were the ones for $6.00 with the same UPC #, but for some reason if part of the bar code gets covered during scanning it will ring up this different way, I wonder if that is the coding for a refill? I didn't buy any refills and I don't know if that is even the price at Walmart, but maybe.

In the case of Target, I don't know if the refills were $5.02 either. I will have to find that Target receipt and re-read the description on the one that rang up differently and see exactly what the description says, because I do remember it was different than the others. When I saw how it rang up I had to put away one of my $6 coupons and just use an extra $4 and pay the $1 difference and use the extra $6 next time. So these kits scanning for refill price? is not helping me at all when I have these $6 coupons to use anyway.

Just strange that on these kits if part of the bar code gets covered a certain way it will register as something else at a lower price. I will have to buy a refill some time and see if this is what is happening, as far as what it is registering at.

Shocking Hmm, wondering if I bought a t.v. priced at like $899 and covered up part of the barcode while it was being rung if it would scan for the price of let's say, a clock radio Scratchhead ?

Sorry for all the sicko kids and bad news stuff going out there - here's hoping that things look up for everyone! Cheers

My son wants to be a pirate for Halloween. Can anyone suggest a place to look for a great costume? I am SO not good w/ a sewing machine, so I will have to buy one. All the pirate costumes on e*bay look pretty lame. Is everyone else starting to think about costumes? We are excited to take DS trick or treating for the first time this year! Halloween is also my DHs 30th birthday and we are having a surprise costume party after candy Smilie
if you do not see one at target....you can make one. we did this for our ds last year (we had an eye patch and shirt from a pirates of the caribean thingy) but you can buy him some black sweatpants ($4) and cute the bottoms in a zig zag pattern. You can get a long sleeved white shirt (old or on clearance) and cut that up too. maybe take some black marker and scuff it up. bandana for his head. some black makeup around his eyes. make a sword out of cardboard and aluminum foil....etc. no need to sew or anything. you can get real creative!

Thats it. Thank you so much. I think its dollar general (I know there is a dollar word on that name somewhere laugh out loud ). I might have to check those there. They are expensive at the drugstores as I just found out earlier. I can't bring myself to buy any laugh out loud

Not sure yet but there is a chance although im not feeling anything unusual so it might just be for nothing anyway. I think those chinese pee-pee papers are ordered online. Will have to check the website of that one too.
I used to order strips from saveontests.com.

Awe I thought I had a good deal for those of you who do Wags (this week) but then I seen the Wags wiki and it had the printable in it already..

Anyways, just to let you know if you do Wags, and didn't see the $1/1 coupon like I didn't...

The Mel-o Honey reg price $7.99
minus the IVC in flyer - $4.00
minus PDF - $1/1
equals.. $2.99 for a large thing of Honey.

I thought it was a very good deal for Honey...

Good morning! It's Friday and a 3 day weekend for me. Love 3 day weekends. Stopped by TJMaxx and Marshalls yesterday. Marshalls had some really really cute halloween costumes for the little ones.

is it possible the can inside has a barcode that's showing through the plastic so the scanner is picking that up instead and ringing up as a refill? I had this happen with a 12 pack of bottled water one day at Kmart. The upright scanner kept picking up a single barcode from the bottle instead of the barcode on the packaging. Dontknow

speaking of costumes:

For the last 2 years, I have been able to score an embarassing amount of costumes at T for 90% after Halloween. I literally have at least 20 costumes here. DS wants to be a ninja and we have parts of a costume from 2 years ago so I had to pick up a larger size for this year (Walmart vomit actually had the entire suit for $7) since I didn't think ahead about how fast he's growing laugh out loud
HOWEVER, DD has decided she wants to be a shark. Yeah, that's a costume I DON'T have in my arsenal Annoyed I'm going to try to talk her into a witch, angel, etc. since we have a wide variety of those. Silly girl, always difficult.

Too funny, in those costumes from the dressup pile (at $2 a costume, they are way better than the junky ones you buy for dressing up!) was a funny little devil costume. She looks like the character on Deviled Ham. Anyhow, she likes wearing that one while she watches Little Mermaid so she'll have a tritan like King Tritan or as she calls him "The Mermaid Man" Rofl2

So the 5 year old has a fever, cough, sore throat and today the 3 year old says his mouth hurts. I'm also worried about strep, ya know? But DH is texting me that they are chasing each other through the house, so who knows? I'm going to call the Advice Nurse anyways.

mofome~ not trying to scare you but if they have the flu then they will be better off getting Tamiflu the first 48 hours (from what my doc says)

My 10 yr old had the swine flu and the doc said he saw one kid who only had a cough..no fever or anything and he tested positive. The parent caught it before it got too bad. I thnk you would feel better if you had them checked, especially since its Friday and the weekend is upon us. Just my opinion. I know it sux to have to take off. Can you make an appt after work?
