This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

I'm going to chime in here. My DD has ALWAYS slept on her stomach. She rolled very easily (less than 2 weeks, will have to look at her baby book) and it was impossible keeping her on her back. That was some of the best sleep she has ever done and even now, she sleeps on her stomach still. I don't really see what is entirely wrong with it, but that is my opinion. Our parents did so many things and we lived, right? It does depend on comfort level. I used to flip dd constantly, but eventually gave up. She was happier, I was happier, it all worked out.
It's for sure that whatever you do today, will be unhealthy in a few years laugh out loud When mine were babies, we would NEVER put them on their backs to sleep. We were told they could aspirate if they spit up, and choke. Tummies only. Now, I guess it's not safe to put them on their tummies.....I guess in a way I was fortunate that DS was on a SIDS monitor. If he stopped breathing the alarm would go off, so it didn't matter how he slept, and I slept more peacefully too knowing it was on him.

Some may disagree with me, but sometimes Ryan took his best naps on his belly. And both kids slept much longer in their carseat (infant carrier) for both naps and overnight. I would strap them in the seat and then swing the seat back and forth until they fell asleep. hug Sorry it's sucking...hope he starts sleeping more for you soon! Kids just don't appreciate the ability to sleep whenever they want for as long as they want...I wish that could be true for me too!

So the kids slept all day...from 12:30 until...actually the 3 yo is still sleeping but has no fever. The 5 yo woke up with a bad fever and worse cough, so it's off to the ped's tomorrow! Poor buddies...
hug for the sick kiddos Frown that is so stressful!!

Thrifty!!! My kiddos were tummy sleepers. After a few weeks of absolutely losing our minds trying to get to DS to sleep on his back, dh screamed uncle and rolled him over. He has slept like a rock since Wink (dh and ds!)

I have not encountered this but whether the register is to the front or the back of the counter my cashiers have met my friend Otto looking at him straight in the eye and don't mind him much. I guess my friend isn't much to look at. Although I have had some tell me that Otto really Rocks
Today my cashier wrote my prices on my coupons again. I hate that, but it didn't seem to phase her. I'm trying to think, I actually think some of my stores do have the screen near the belt. But I can't picture it right now.

Kelloggs doesn't want us to buy any other kinds of cereal, snack, crackers, etc., I guess. Here's a link for a $10 Toy Voucher [snackpicks.com] (basically a check) wyb 5 specially-marked packages of Keebler crackers and cookies, including Town House, Club, Toasteds, Cheez-It, Fudge Shoppe and Rice Krispies Treats.

I found $2/2 peelies on the Cheezits at Target and $1 mfr's peelies on the Keebler (said good only at Target on them).

So today DS and I had an hour to kill before our Toy Story 3D movie started so I decided to visit one of the Ts here in Orlando just to peruse clearance. Cashier selection was awesome, BUT all of the cashier screens are positioned right ABOVE the belt scanner. has anyone else ever seen this???? I was shocked. I figured if I was shopping with Otto that he would be tough to disguise. We just walked around a little, got DS a cookie and headed to the movie (which by the way was AWESOME).

Youe son is 3 right? Did he do good in the movies? We are planning on going on Wednesday night, but am a little nerveous about taking my 4 yr old. The last movie we tried at the theater was Monster's vs Aliens and I spent over half the movie in the bathroom or the hallway. So disappointing since I actually paid for that movie...we were on vacation and decided to do it as a treat. Ha! No treat for mom I guess, he loved running in the hallway though.

I am by no means a textbook type of parent, but I am at my wits end with this one. I get NOTHING done all day and am exhausted mentally, physically and emotionally. I did what I never thought I would do in a million years...I went to Barnes and Noble and bought "The Happiest Baby on the Block." Now, the challenge will be to find the time to read it. Teehee
I hear ya Thrifty. My kids were never good sleepers and my 2nd was hell on wheels for the first year. I did anything I could to get him to sleep. Swing, bouncy, carseat, tummy, bought an amby bed, etc, etc. I agree with SB on the "healthy sleep habits, happy child" book. It has a ton of good info. You may not be able to "solve" the problem, but at least you'll know a lot about kids and sleep.

Both my kids are tummy sleepers. We followed the whole "back to sleep" thing for our first, but as soon as he had a choice, he automatically flipped onto his tummy to sleep. With my second, I'd have let him sleep on his head if it helped. laugh out loud Seriously though, it scared the pants of me to put him on his tummy, but we were desperate. He still didn't sleep great, but it did help a bit.

Anyway, hang in there thrifty. Lack of sleep SUX but you guys will get through it!

My kids belly slept too... *shrug* I also co-slept with youngest DD for quite a while - mainly too tired to put her back in bed/get up when she wanted to nurse. It was a miserable time for me though, as I didn't sleep well for the whole time. I have almost thought of getting separate beds for me and hubby because it's so uncomfy for me to sleep with anyone - especially if the move or get up, etc... I'm a horrible sleeper. Frown And now I'm rambling...

I thought that was standard at all T's - even my broke down T has a screen above the scanner. Some cashiers don't look, some always look, and some scan with the gun anyways.

I write the prices on the q's myself. The cashier will look at it, see I wrote it, and usually thank me and proceed to scan away. When I haven't done this, I've had the WORST runs ever, AND the cashier's have gotten sooo so soooo snotty and mean with me - saying "I should've had these before," etc... *shrug* Maybe worth a try?

is it possible the can inside has a barcode that's showing through the plastic so the scanner is picking that up instead and ringing up as a refill? I had this happen with a 12 pack of bottled water one day at Kmart. The upright scanner kept picking up a single barcode from the bottle instead of the barcode on the packaging. Dontknow

Wow, great thinking! I am sure you are right from looking at the packaging now. I hadn't even considered that possibility or really paid attention to the fact that the spray can's barcode was in plain sight though the plastic on the unit. I am so glad you brought this up, as it was driving me nuts to why it was doing this. Well that is twice this product did this, and like I said it didn't help since I had to use the $4 coupon instead of the $6. No matter as all my $6 coupons are gone now, until I get more all I have are $4's.

When these things are full price a scan that caught the other bar code would be cheaper, but as my luck it does it when being cheaper is a disadvantage! laugh out loud

What's with the pop up AFTER you leave reputation?

Now it looks JUST like HCW "Thanks for adding reputation to this user. May you be lucky enough to receive the same Reputation back in return".

What a crock. Where are my waders (high, waterproof boots used for wading)?

Tumbleweed

Maybe folks slept in this morning. look around

So, it's most likely H1N1 for my oldest DS. His fever spiked to 105 this morning and he has a terrible cough/sore throat. BUT they are NOT giving him Tamiflu - said they are restricted to giving it to those with chronic health conditions or if they are around children under 2 or with chronic health conditions. My poor baby is so sick! I was flipping out when I saw that temp! Weeping

But 3 yo DS seems to be fine today. Not sure if he had the same thing or something else entirely. Ped said the H1N1 vaccine will be pretty much worthless to us now.

Oh my gosh. I am so sorry. I hope he gets better very soon! Comfort

Oh, and I went to two Targets looking for the Visa/Amex cards and I finally asked a GSTL and he said that only 150 test stores were getting them and none of them are in my area Sadwalk
