This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

I assume the 3rd tq will beep saying you cannot use a coupon on a free item just like the Kelloggs deal this week. But Yahoo! on printable toy coupons!
I wonder if this new batch is not smart....the wii q did not beep on the free ones for me.

Quote from georgiasurro :
i just read deals *gasp* someone said they bought 6 games used 3 of the wii coupons no problem! I dont have a wii, but man that would be a slickdeal $30 for 6 games if you bought the 14.99 ones
Quote from georgiasurro :
anyone doing the wii deal? What games are you getting? I told my mom about it and she wants me to pick up 6 for my nephew for christmas, he is 10. What $15 ones are good?
There are some good $20 games, at least my son says they are good:

Six Flags (w/free kids admission ticket)
Star Wars Force Unleashed
Lego Star Wars
MX vs. ATV Untamed
GT Proseries w/steering wheel

Some of the $15 games I remember:

Sea Monsters
M&M Kart Racing
Chicken Shoot

This is a great deal. I think I'll have a total of 12 games for DS's Christmas.

The coupon also does not attach...it drops to the bottom of the receipt. SCORE!

Yep, it is for my externship next term and by no means, a "real" job offer. But they definitely do cross paths; one is the state tax court and the other is private tax attorney. prestigious meaning, if I decide to practice in a different state (which I will) it will look a lot better if i work in the courts system than with an attorney they presumably have never heard of. I did accept job #1 w/ the attorney yesterday and I wouldve asked for more time but the 7 day deadline is a strict rule in these externship positions, and then job #2 called me this morning to offer me a spot...

I know it's unprofessional but I am inclined to rescind it. I just need some advice from the outside Smilie
I didn't realize you had the other offer already. I would say if you already know you have the other option, then go ahead and rescind the original acceptance and just tell them what you said about how you hope to practice in another state and you feel the other position would better prepare you for that.
What did you tell job #2 when they made the offer? That's the only other sticky part is do they already know that you accepted another offer?

I got a 5/50 toy crt today...do you think I could use that on the Wii games?
I think you will be able to use it on as long as you spend $50 BC on the wii games.

Can I get some advice? Everyone I have asked is biased, one way or the other.

What would you do?

Job #1 has given you 7 days to accept their offer but you haven't heard yet from Job #2. You would MUCH rather work at job #2 and would be a lot more prestigious but you have to let job #1 know today whether it's yes or no. If Job #2 doesnt offer you a spot, you are screwed. So, you accept Job #1. The next day, Job #2 calls and offers you the job.

Should I feel guilty about wanting to revoke my first acceptance?
it works both ways. i've had friends accept job offers, go and then there's no job even when the economy is good. just recently a friend moved to another company then got laid off not long after that. then he intensively interviewed for another job, they had him hanging for a month and then afterwards told him he had to move to SF which they knew he wouldn't do. i don't think there is really a job but they don't want to tell him that b/c he is in a very small industry. he had been impressed b/c the company was started by a navy seal or something like that.

i have another friend who got promoted and then the boss up and moved to another division 6 months after which he probably already knew about when he got her to move to work w/ him. she got stuck w/ a boss who didn't give her any work to do and then tried to give her a bad review. which she got reversed b/c you can't review somebody on no job description and no work. eventually she got laid off in dec. same previous boss called her in july and says he has a project for her, jerks her around for months, doesn't answer emails and then they wanted her to come in immediately. she took the job b/c her husband's business is not making any money and now they have big landlord problems.

the bottom line is you have to look out for yourself. you cannot have loyalty to any company anymore b/c they can turn around and shaft you the next day. you may love your boss, give 110% and they will still shaft you. it's happened to me more than once.

just do what's best for you.

nod Here's a sad story. . . as most of you know, I work in academia and have many criminally under-employed friends. One of these friends this year, after much searching and many years as an underpaid, overworked adjunct, got offered the plum job in the U of CA system, tenure-track, all the bells and whistles.

So, he accepts, quits his old jobs, and signs the contract. While the contract is in the middle of moving through all the bureaucracy it has to go through to be finalized, the state of CA pulled the funding for the position. Crying2 You don't even know what to say when something like that happens. Not a litigious person but serious thought about suggesting he sue.

my friend seriously thought of suing b/c she got pregnant during the no-work period and when she got back from maternity leave she didn't have a position either. by law they are supposed to offer you an equivalent position. i'm sure you know how that went. her company's human resources is also incredibly lame. i don't even know how they get away w/ some of the stuff they did for yrs. their permalancers had benefits! it was so incredibly illegal. my company watched that stuff like a hawk. part-timers never got scheduled more than 28hrs/wk and we are talking 15-20 yrs ago! anybody who worked 30-40hrs/wk had to be made full time and offered benefits which they had to turn down if they didn't want it. she spoke to a friend who did sue the company and won but ended up regretting it. sometimes it's just better to move on and just put the whole thing behind you.

unfortunately i can see my friend getting sucked back in b/c her dh is happier to have his own business that will eventually eat their house away than go back and make some real money in the corporate world.

I might feel guilty about it, but I'd most certainly revoke #1 and accept #2, if that will be best in the long run.

That's one way to turn any cashier into a jedi EEK! Crylol

I can actually see it now... M2C is checking out and things aren't going as planned. Cashier is taking for-ever, and then M2C's water breaks. She then says to the cashier, "My water just broke here and I'm going into labor... do you mind hurrying that up?!?" Cashier gives her the EEK!EEK!EEK! look. M2C says, "Scan, lady, scan! Unless you want me delivering this baby at register 12" Rofl2

Went to Target,

went into labor,
left very happy,
went to the hospital,
had a baby,
left very happy!
