This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

I know the AmEx card is not working if scanned/bought at a Target that does not sell them...

But how much success have various people had with the Visa gift card? I'd really, really like to hear from a few who have done this!

when people get me random things for xmas:I mean it's nice that they thought of me but the $5-$15 could so be better spent somewhere else, rather than ending up in my junk/sale pile. We told family 2 years ago no more presents except for Logan and we only exchange adult gifts with our parents. We still give something for the mailman and some folks that work for me, but otherwise we just make a donation to a charity every year and put it on our holiday cards. that way a bunch of people don't get crap they don't need and we actually do some good in the world. This will be the 3rd year!

We do have presents here though, we were just saying that we need to look in the stockpile and figure out what he's getting for holidays/bday
We pretty much did the same thing. DH and I were both the last of our siblings to reproduce. As soon as DS was born I said only buying for kids and parents, that we were DONE exchanging with siblings. Everyone has been very happy about that arrangement.

I found Stacy's Parmesan and Herb Chips (tag said Parmesan and Garlic) for TPC'd for $1.50. With the $1 TQ (handed out by sample lady) they were 50.
I'm pretty sure that I saw in the Q preview for this week that there is a $1 MQ for Stacy's Chips coming out.

I was looking at the BF ad, and it says $10 gc with a $100 purchase. The fine print says "based on merchandise subtotal (after all applicable discounts)". So... any idea if that means after coupons - or before??

ETA:

On the first page, it says "Stores open at 5am on Friday", then in small print it says "free Marcel Wanders for Target reusable shopping bag" blah blah blah... starting at 4am! ??? Are they gonna hand 'em out to folks standing in line, or what lol??

TCCers- if an item was clearance at one store to 75% off, two other nearby stores are selling the item for a much higher price, what are the odds of buying said item at the in stock price, and exchanging it to another form of payment at the store with the higher price? I'm looking for good and bad experience reports.

Hmm... Target has some good prospects for BF. I am definitely going to try for the mega bloks for the youngest DD. I also saw the other day at T that they had matching hair dryers/curling irons for 14.99ish each (I think... that's the price stuck in my head...) They had a purple cheetah print which is PERFECT for oldest DD.

I wonder if I could amass enough GC for an iPod or TV. DH would be so utterly shocked.!

No - gc are excluded in the fine print.

Has anyone used the stick vac? I have been wanting to get something that may work well on steps - would this work, or should I get something else?

hug Thanks! I'm torn... lol. *If* I get enough gc to do a tv or ipod for hubby (who would be so totally shocked), I don't know if I should make a run for that first or the coffee maker or the blocks!! ROFL!!

I guess if I miss the 3.00 coffeepot, I could possibly grab a 29.00 coffee pot - which isn't too bad of a deal!

My oldest dd is 13 and in that funny age. Not sure what else to get her. I may go with some stuff I grab a Wags (like their bogo nailpolish next week, I think... it's the kind with lots of crazy colors.)

hmm, just looked at the bf list and I'm not sure what to think...

I might get the clickstart for DD and maybe a portable DVD player for the car. She's hit that stage where she hates her carseat. Up to now I've been bribing her with happy baby puffs but today she said "NO!" and dumped them all out. laugh out loud

DH wants to get the $246 tv for the rec room. Westinghouse? hmm

And I want the $12 10pk of frames lol I'm boring.

But mainly so is the BF ad. shake head

I got a Westinghouse a few years ago and it was one of the best TVs I've ever bought. It would probably still be perfect if my son didn't shoot it with pellet gun and break one of the lcd lights. We decided it was cheaper to replace than repair. I wouldn't discount that brand. I think they got really great reviews too which was why we went with that model. Hope that helps make your decision a little easier!!

carpeted steps or bare?

if carpeted, get something like the hoover sidewinder hand vac. i have a feeling it might be discontinued b/c out of stock at hoover.com and target.com
http://www.target.com/gp/detail.h...v_XSG10001

i was thinking of buying a turbo brush ($50 everywhere) for my canister vac but this ended up being cheaper and more versatile.

my mom got the dirt devil w/ the cloth bag and the switch kept breaking so be careful when shopping around. maybe was this one-
http://www.amazon.com/Dirt-Devil-...pd_sbs_k_1

it's amazing how much dirt the rotating brush pulls out of the staircase carpet.

I had to just exchange.. I got like 1/3 off.. because of the free game.. it was like 33% off each one.. but when i exchanged it they did an even exchange.. same price for same price. I was hoping for a price raincheck so I could go and get a higher priced game!

OHHH a tip! WATCH the price of the 3 pack of Secret.. was marked $9.19 and I didnt pay attention.. all other stores it rang up right.. but tonight I got the SOD and saw the secret rang up $10.99.. i had her K8 the Q (not accept) and then adjust the price of the secret..She asked the GSTL who said, if she said it, just change the price!
I need to exchange one, too. Got Mario & Sonic Winter Olympics but not sure if the boys will dig it. Anyone have this one? And how does it compare to the Sports Resort game (which I thought looked kinda dull, even with the fencing---I mean c'mon, paper airplane tossing? wtf?!)

BTW, had the same problem with the Secret 3 pack at one store tonight. Surprised the heck out of me because I'm used to not paying more than $9.XX for them...I just paid and left, wondering what had happened and thinking evil thoughts; didn't hit me until I had driven down the road a bit.

DOH!
