DH is an only child and has helped his parents for a while. His credit stinks now
I've been divorced twice so you know how that goes.
I would love to help him repair his credit. Any suggestions?

No "major" bills have ever been late. Mostly a couple of credit cards he had before we got married. He eventually just gave up on them. His Mom was supposed to pay them. It's kind of a sore subject for him.
I would estimate the total debt to be around $4,000. Not much, but enough to ruin his credit. I wanted to call the companies and set up a repayment or something but will this repair his credit? Im sure it will help but does anyone have any experience or advice?
He recently got laid off so I am just being proactive here. Not much I can do financially but looking for advice
Yes, we are in good standing and use the same bank for all of our finances
(besides the credit cards he owes) So maybe he can go in and talk to them now that he is home...all.of.the.time

Have been super busy- don't know how you are all keeping up with getting ready for the holidays and doing all the Target runs. I usually get heart palpitations around the holidays, I am already starting to stress. I think I will decrease my Targeting if this coupon stuff gets too strict or it is too difficult to get GC's d/t limited T coupon use.

Funny thing happened on the drive down today. I have DH's car, Anyways, I go to open the sunglass holder thingy in the ceiling of the car and out falls a bunch of the $5 Cranium Peelies from LAST YEAR! I just started cracking up (and I have not been in a funny mood lately). I guess I badgered them from somewhere and then I probably had a drink in the console so I stuck them up there so they wouldn't get wet.

Yeah, you know-we've dealt with "the sky is falling" for over 2 years, so I don't take stock in it unless one of you guys has an incident, KWIM? There were days when the registers didn't work right even though I had the correct items and good coupons, but they are very isolated incidents.

Make sure the debts are still within the statue of limitations for your state. If the debt is old it probably will not make much difference to his FICO if he pays it off. Morally, of course, he should, but...http://www.fair-debt-collection.c...
If it is still within the SOL and with the original creditor, send them a pay for delete letter where you offer a lump sum payment in return for deletion of the tradeline. Do not let anyone have access to your bank accounts now, especially if the account is with a collector. You will simply restart the clock on how long the debt can be reported and open up a can of worms if they are unscrupulous.

Hey guys.. Stay FAR away from ebay seller nannabearstreasures I complained that she charged me $6 for shipping 60 coupons. She sent me a completely empty envelope... sent it with DC to cover her butt with paypal.. but as soon as I saw it was empty, I returned to sender with out opening!
And my store has a TON of Chinet!

Anyways, not to brag but my little Evan has slept the last 2 nights from 8-7! I stepped him up to a big nighttime bottle, slapped 2 diapers on him and let him sleep on his tummy. Hopefully I've started a trend!
