Target Chit Chat

This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

SOMEBODY teach se to multi-quote instead of having an entire page of her posts.

And maybe someone here knows. What does wood have to do with someone having their binder searched? Confused Are they gonna beat the Hell out of someone with a bat because their binder was searched?

Wave Morning!

Scratchhead wondering how .teri. is this morning. I thought she had a consult yesterday.

Holy macaroni Batman...I did not know this and just recently thought I was waving "hello to someone".... sorry if I offended anyone in TCC with a wave that I thought was friendly. Wouldn't it just be easier to really have an FU smiley? Thanks SB for the insight.
YEAH Greenbelt --- I SAW that wave you sent to me ... and now you have changed it ........ Yeah yeah now you're all like "Ooooooh I didn't know ...." Herrrrumph!!!!! ROFL! I can tell you, for all you guys who say I have a great memory - I never remember which wave/thumbs-up are the appropriate ones to use - so I just never use them! LOL It must be what I am interested in remembering!

hug It is good to see you GB!!!!

SB: I got these flashcards at Barnes and Noble for my little one way back when. They are touch and feel and made of something similar to board books. We used these so much and he loved them. They teach simple words/colors. They are made by DK and called My First Words Touch and Feel Picture Cards.
I have since seen them randomly at Marshalls. But I have to say they were great.

Also, the small Parents toys at Target are usually good. We had the car keys, the iPOD and the blackberry type thing. All were great and he still has the iPOD and blackberry writting thing.
Thanks for the tips - I am looking for a few small items for my 1 yr old and my 2 yr old for their stockings - the iPod & Blackberry sound about right Smilie

There was a poster in deals 1-2 years ago that abused wave and Clap got on my last friggin nerve so everytime I read her posts I thought FU when I saw wave
Thanks for the explanation - I will try to remember!

I found some touchy feely puzzle pieces at Target. They were by the puzzles and were in a yellow box with a string. I have never noticed them before but happened to be strolling past that section. It is packed away for Christmas so I'm not sure of the brand. I recall there being several neat educational toys there.
Thanks for the heads up ----- I have not looked closely at the Christmas toy area -- maybe it needs some exploring.

Hey you guys are experts at finding stuff ---- has anyone ever seen a Santa Dreidel? No disrespect is intended for anyone of any religious affiliation! It is that I have seen Santa put on the weirdest stuff and I am trying to find a strange gift for my son who is into social commentary and analyzing commercialization.

G'Mornin' TN! Ok - you have me puzzled .... SE? Must try to figure out who that is - then I would be happy to share the info with them LOL Then you might be faced with multitudes of multiquotes as you are from me though Evil hee hee

Wood and binder searched??? Hmmm sounds like the beginning of a joke ... a bear, lion, and duck walk into a bar .... lol I have no idea. But hey - I bet it wouldn't really matter whether they were using the "appropriate coupons" after beating someone up --- pretty sure they wouldn't be allowed to shop there again! lol

I thought that Teri had a consult yesterday as well - hug Teri we are thinking of you!!!!!

I also got him the Playschool Busy Ball Popper and the Tonka Playschool Cushy Crusin School Bus.

Well that's his Christmas so far. Still looking for a few more things, his sisters are getting Nintendo DS, I hope, so maybe need to find a few things to add.

Oh those sound cute, must look for them.
I have to 2nd or 3rd the Busy Ball Popper. I just sent that to VT with my sister to give to my brother's newborn for Christmas. It was a favorite toy of all 4 of my sister and I's boys. I just finally put in in my garage sale pile and my youngest is 3. It's a fun toy!

The Busy Ball Popper kept my kids entertained long after the age listed on the box. It is a very cool toy, and the music it plays isn't obnoxious like lots of other ones. Its actually pleasant! Or at least, the version I had was! laugh out loud

So is there a girl version of the Tonka ride on? I think there's a Playskool toy that changes from push to ride-on, right? But probably no toy catalog coupon for it, hm.. I've gotten rid of all the 12-month-appropriate toys since my 2 oldest are now 3 and 4, but now my youngest is turning 1 year in Dec., so I need to get her stocked with toys! So far, I have the Leapfrog Alphabet Pal, and the Playskool gear toy. Gotta get more toys!!! laugh out loud
Cool, sounds like the Popper will be a hit. Big Grin
There is another ride on that I looked glanced at Target but with no Q I didn't look to closely or notice the family code but IIRC it was made by Playschool and had the same type of 3-in-1 features. It wasn't gender specific, kinda reminded me of a catepillarish shape. For $9 or or $14 (depending on the MQ you can find) I would say the ride on truck is not really gender specific either, girls can have lots of fun with trucks. We bought our DD a huge Lego Dump Truck that she could push and even sit in the back (we couldn't keep her out) and she loved that thing for years. We have always bought some trucks for our girls over the years. The oldest even had a hot wheel streak for a few years and she has a whole set of them with roads and everything.

What's all this fuss I keep hearing about violins on television? Why don't parents want their kids to see violins on television? I thought the Leonardo Bernstein concerts were just lovely, now, if they only show violins on television after ten o'clock at night, the little babies will all be asleep and they won't learn any music appreciation. They'll learn to play guitars, and bongo drums and go to Africa and join these rock'n roll outfits and they won't drink milk! I think there should be more violins on television and less game shows, it's terrible the way...

Bronc - YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for the laugh - I needed it! hug

First, I think they meant "Where's the wood, so I can knock on it [that it doesn't happen to me]?"

Second, why are I wanting teached at Asshat University...

Third, and MOST importantly, we're thinking of you, Teri!!!!

The button to the right of reply is the multi-quote button. It has two speech bubbles and a + on it. Hit that under each message you want to quote and then when you're ready to reply just hit reply on the last post.

The wood thing = knock on wood (where's the wood?)

wave oops... Wave
