This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.
All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

It has come to our attention that an original intent of a manufacturer's coupon(s) has been compromised and it is being discussed on the slickdeals.net forums. We then went to another Target and I just decided to keep the other B2G1 coupons for higher priced refills and just ask customer service there if I could use a few more of the $1.50 off each glade. I had also forgotten to use my ICBINB coupons at that last store (my mistake I didn't give them to her). They had no problem refunding my coupons even though it was from another store, and that lady was very nice, unlike the first cranky CS lady.
To get to the point I purchased more Glade at this store and used 5 B2G1 coupons again. I gave her the two from before and three more. This time I paid closer attention and you know what 3 of those coupons when scanned did not deduct, but the register beeped like they did. Even the girl noticed, before I said anything. She didn't mind the deduction from the first one she was very nice, and ended up having to scan 1 coupon three times, and then another coupon 2 times to make the 5 coupons work.
I don't know what the deal was has anyone encountered this? I have used lots of these coupons and I wonder if this has happened before and I just didn't notice. It was just that three got missed and I had figured my total good, so I realized right away. I'm not sure if scanning them at the price checker would help, but I am going to try this next time. I would say they just didn't scan, but the register beeped like a coupon went though. It was really strange. Messed up my first order completely.
Flugette I PM'ed you to ask you a question. If anyone has insight as to what happened please post or PM. Thanks everyone!
I love the deal on the banquet tables this week $32.99, I think this is the lowest I have ever seen them, anyone know for sure. Did anyone notice that the way you close them is different than the older style. Not sure if it is better or worse. I guess we will see, as I picked up a few more at that price.
They raised the price of the Santa Potato Heads in my stores, before I figured out they weren't with the regular toys, but with Christmas stuff. Still a good deal for $1.99, but .99 would have been better. Is the price raised in everyone's stores? Did they raise the price, because they saw that they were selling so many I wonder?
As far as the santa spud, lots of folks in the deal thread reported they were ringing up 6.99 now

What I don't understand is both these girls scanned all my coupons of the glade B2G1 the same way and some took others did not.
Like I said I didn't notice till to late on the first order, but at the second store, when the girl couldn't get them to deduct she scanned them every which way and they weren't working. Only the 1st one she scanned and 4th one scanned right. She tried the second and third multiple times and no go. It was weird, after she couldn't get the second one to scan after many tries. She just scanned the first one again no problem. Then the third did the same as the second, and she scanned that multiple times. So she just scanned the first again and voilit worked fine. The 4th one scanned first time, like the lst, but the last one no go after multiple scannings, so she just scanned the 4th again. I thought maybe the coupons were somewhat waxy or something, but they all were about the same.
But you think that it just happened that she somehow got the wrong bar code on those ones that wouldn't scan multiple times? I mean I obviously had the right product, so I would have thought even if the right bar code got scanned along with the left it would have worked. I know just the right code will give the dreaded screen, but had no idea there would be problems with both codes scanned.
Like I said I have used these coupons numerous times, and it seems like many of my cashiers just scan the whole thing with no problems.
When you hand the coupons over and fold the right bar code so it is just showing the left bar code, do any of your cashiers unfold it to see what the coupon is? Or is enough showing they don't mind and just scan. I'm afraid mine would unfold it and scan it the other way anyway.
Thanks for your help by the way, I know you know a lot about the glade from reading your posts in the past. You are like me crazy for the glade deals.
Oh, and I propose that the theme song for the deals thread be: "It's the end of the world as we know it" - for the love of monkeys, wtf is wrong with people over there!
Not that anyone on here is like that, of course, but the deals thread is a different story.
Someone will need to explain these to me...I *think* I know what they mean, but I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first or last time).
popped in the deals thread just long enough to see we are debating the poor santa spuds again.. is it a spud, or a spud bud, that is the question:lm ao::lm ao:
Speaking of BF, I would love some toy advice (since we've been talking toys). I am a complete know-nothing when it comes to toys. My little guy will be 10 months on xmas, so. . . what are the "can't miss" toys for 9-12 month olds? Or even a bit older?
We don't have a ton of storage, so I'd really like to know what are the sure-fire hits? (And of course I'd even more love to know about the ones that are great deals at T as well.
Glad your dad can be where he's comfortable.
Now that's scawwwy.
Apparently it is the eternal question! A debate for the ages. . .
I would love to know this too. . also if it is a regular item or a BF only. . .I need to get my shopping list together for Saturday, including my items to PM for BF weekend.

Did anyone else's store raise the prices of the Santa Potato Head from $5.99 to $6.99?

It says it is for ages 9 months to 3 years. It starts as a Push and Sort, then the back flips up to help learn to walk, ending as a ride on that scoops. lilB just turned 10 months and is walking along furniture and has taken a few steps here and there so I think he will like walking along with this.
I also got him the Playschool Busy Ball Popper and the Tonka Playschool Cushy Crusin School Bus.
Well that's his Christmas so far. Still looking for a few more things, his sisters are getting Nintendo DS, I hope, so maybe need to find a few things to add.
I think they must hope you will only print 1 or 2 coupons, and then go into their store and buy 100 other things without coupons. From what I have observed from people using coupons, they don't just use 1 or 2, they use a lot or none. I think they are taking the wrong approach, because they are just upsetting the people who would shop with coupons, and not those who wouldn't and didn't care when you could print a lot or none at all. I hardly see anyone use TQ's, but if I do they have many other coupons as well.
If they are so worried about the TQ's coupons, why not just reduce the value of them or just put things on sale for everyone? IMO they are like Walgreen's and put the coupons out to make it look like a great deal, but hope you forget to bring them or use them at the checkout. Few if any Target cashiers are going to tell you, oh I think that product has a TQ. I think a lot of them wouldn't even know. I can't count how many times there is a coupon in the Walgreen's ad and I think what a great deal, but then forget to use the coupon. Of course I go and get a price adjustment when I remember, but think of all the people who wouldn't and don't. I believe some people don't really pay attention to the fact you have to have the coupon to get the sale.
By making you unable to print coupons at the store, I guess they figure they are saving money, thinking you will buy the item anyway. To bad if you forget to bring your coupons or see a deal at the store you know there is a TQ for. I guess they don't know us couponers very well, because most of us would wait to buy the product with a coupon later or bring the coupon in later for an adjustment.
I would just like to thank the leaders of this country and the banks who messed up the economy so bad, that now even Target is worried about the ink and paper people would use in the store to print coupons.
SB: I got these flashcards at Barnes and Noble for my little one way back when. They are touch and feel and made of something similar to board books. We used these so much and he loved them. They teach simple words/colors. They are made by DK and called My First Words Touch and Feel Picture Cards.
I have since seen them randomly at Marshalls. But I have to say they were great.
Also, the small Parents toys at Target are usually good. We had the car keys, the iPOD and the blackberry type thing. All were great and he still has the iPOD and blackberry writting thing.

Hey girl! Just reading the last page, I'll never catch up on all the drama but I can tell you what I got lilB. I think the Playschool Tonka Scoot 'n Scoop 3-in-1 Ride On would be perfect. It's in the 53569 family so there are MQs out there and there is the $20 TQ to combine with it! It is only $39.99 to start with. I was prepared for the TQ to beep but it didn't it just scanned right through. So did the $1 TQ for Glade Air from magazines, 8 of them, at the same store which was a regular T. The $1 Glade Air beeped for me at a ST later in the day.
