You probably need to find the right shade of purple. Some purple I look great in, others I look deathly.
I just don't like costume jewelry because it's a waste of money. They all tarnish, so I'm better off getting the real deal
You probably look really good in those!
I agree - it's about making what looks good on your body!
Leggings really are too comfy. I buy tons of them because I'm still looking for a pair that are thick enough for our winters up here. I do always wear them with tunic length pieces and I either send back the thin ones I buy or I wear them under things when it is super cold.
Do any of you guys live near NYC? I feel like I'm the only one over here when everyone is talking about what's left in their local VS and Express stores.:lol
Were you able to use my free shipping code in time to get the 20% off clearance item? I felt bad PMing you so late. I really hope you could use it.

hba lives nearby but in the burbs. i thought liggy was on long island hence her name... but i could be wrong.
I definitely don't like Guess anymore. But Bebe I still like, especially their nice dresses and suits, but that's about it. I don't wear anything else from there.
That is so mean and hurtful! I can't believe someone would have the gall to say that in front of someone else! I love clothes too! Even though my style may be plain. I have plenty of opportunities to dress up a little when I go out, but I just don't because I'm lazy. And when I DO dress up, I'm the most overdressed of my friends. This is just like nice jeans, sweater, and a coat.
But definitely don't let it depress you. Maybe it'll help you work your way getting your life to that way to eventually wear all the pretty clothes!

I used to be the over dressed one all the time too.
I just wear whatever I see that appeals to me.
And don't worry I don't let comments depress me any more. Other than needing to shape up, I like myself enough not to let those things sting for more than a minute.

I used the free shipping code to get jeans.
Some of it has to do with the fact that I don't really go anywhere. I used to buy stuff I didn't have any place to wear but it started to depress me when my life never got exciting enough to wear those pieces.:l ol: Also my body is too far from perfect for me to wear a lot of things so I don't try.
When one of my old friends was about to get married one of her supposed bridesmaids asked me where I had gotten my outfit from and when I told her it was JCpenney's she actually replied "You look like you would shop at JCpenney's" and laughed.
Oddly enough I still love clothes. You'd think I'd be less obsessed with them since I like plain stuff and only get to put on something super spiffy a few times a year.:no d:
I rarely go anywhere to dress up nicely either. Most of my dresses/nicer clothes are only worn on vacation. I don't care, if I'm overdressed then. Those people won't ever see me again.
That girl was a jerk. I don't understand why some people think it's okay to be so rude. It's too bad their has to be so many mean people in this world.
my legs are shaped funny so while they may sometimes look long and thin (usually in shorts), they are not. leggings make them look funny so i try to do other things to fix it - i.e. if i wear a long enough sweater/tunic and then wear knee high boots it's not as bad - very little leg shown. :l ol: i've discovered my airplane outfit of choice tho - leggings with boots and a long sweater/short sweater dress. super comfy for those long plane rides without looking like i'm in sweats.

either way, i'm glad it didn't hurt you. that's such an underhanded remark - she was probably jealous that you spent less on your outfit and looked better than her!
a friend of a friend asked me where i got my bright green pants sometime last summer. actually she asked if it was from "_____" , and i said no, it's from the gap.
I do love the peplum trend. It's probably due to it being popular, when I was young. It's also very flattering on my body type. I've only bought jackets in that style so far. I need to get some tops & dresses, before they disappear. Hopefully, DH will be able to exchange the dress I received, so I will have at least one dress in that style. I haven't been in much of a dress shopping mood, since I bought so many last year.
i think my waist needs to be about 2" smaller for peplums to look good on me. i don't have an hourglass figure and i think they're best for those who do.

wonder if i should try return and rebuy of those grey leggings. i would just have to return it and then man the register and snatch them up when they put it back on the rack. this would work better on a weekday with less ppl around tho.

I do love the peplum trend but I haven't bought a peplum. I am short with a high waist and I've always enjoyed throwing a skinny belt onto an otherwise flowy blouse and making it look like a peplum. I haven't seen any of the peplums in the store and I refuse to buy them without trying them on.

I love going shopping with this one friend of mine to help her update her wardrobe. She started barely shopping Express. Got a dolman sweater for $20 or something. But she's hardly available, so I feel bad for her to miss out on deals and she refuses to shop online
the pointed hem sweater has a tad of cashmere in it, and no wool. it's the softest sweater. not the warmest tho, but i
