I never have cash. It's cc or debit for me.
i wonder what questions they asked that made your bride have second thoughts about getting her makeup done? i really really think she should hire an artist, even if it's just for herself. especially since she doesn't normally wear makeup. she will look awesome (they tend to work the best on ppl who don't normally wear makeup since it won't take much to make them look different than normal) and without getting an artist she could end up looking normal. either way it won't be bad, but it would be so much easier to hire someone.
i was also like you in that i was scared of them using their own brushes/etc. but it turned out fine for me. they do clean their brushes pretty well. i settled on airbrush foundation tho - they airbrushed me with MUFE HD foundation. it seems more sanitary that way.
i'm pretty comfortable doing a neutral eye nowadays from all the practice from my friend's wedding a couple years ago. i learned face contouring also -- it's not too hard! just look for where your cheekbones are - blush goes right below it, contour goes in the hollow and around the sides of your face (and sides of nose if you want to), highlight goes right on or slightly above your cheekbone. look for youtube - there are tons of useful tutorials! (i like to watch bridal tutorials on asian yt gurus since they deal with our hooded eye issue better) it's not too much wasted product - your eye shadows will last longer than you'll need them anyway. [i know you have as much shadow as me and mine are very far from getting even a dent in them]
I think at this point, BMZilla can try to do her makeup and the other BM's makeup (since they're closer friends) and I told the bride if this doesn't work out, she needs to book someone, but it may be too late. I also told her that we will be very short on time. Then she goes "I can just wear eyeliner." Me and BMzilla told her she needs at least eyeshadow. Then she says it's too expensive. This is because she regifts all the makeup she gets. This girl also has some acne scars, but the only thing she has for that is BE powder so I :duno: I have a hard time covering my scars so I need to work on this for myself too. Sucks because it's on the right side of my face and that's where the pictures will be while we stand during the ceremony.
Is this a good tutorial [youtube.com]?
I might use it for myself too. I think I want to share that with her so she can start practicing. I know she has one ELF mini palette and the BE foundations and some Sephora kit with the mini round eyeshadows.
I need to find some contouring tutorials. Do just use bronzer or bronzer + powder?
BTW - I really like how you do your eyeshadow. Which palettes do you use? I might try to achieve that look, but might be hard to see in pictures because of my glasses.
And you are right about our stashes

cc's charge a lot and i know it sucks for small businesses where they have smaller volumes.

they are able to cover scars/etc well bc they put a lot of foundation on. with airbrush makeup it doesn't look as cakey as others. i think cream foundations look awesome on some ppl also, but need to be set, and i'm not sure it'd work well for me kuz of my large pores.
who did she go to that asked all those questions? i'm surprised, bc when i spoke with MUA's they seemed surprised that i did know brands/products/such.
hmmm i'm not 100% certain but i think i used naked 2 that day. let me find some youtube tutorials that i used when i was learning and i'll email them to you later.

I will have to photograph myself when doing makeup because I don't know how it will look from the side and such. I won't be putting foundation on my face, but will probably use it to cover my acne scars on the jawline. There's some annoying ones right on the hallow of my cheek . I figured perfect for contouring, but I haven't figured out how to make it work
I think she is too cheap to get MUFE foundation, but will tell her your rec
I just need to find a way to blend foundation to cover acne scars to no foundation on the rest of my face
I haven't started playing yet and our next meet up is in late Feb

u don't have to buy any either - just go get some samples from sephora. that's more than enough if all you're going to use it for is the 1 day. just a thought.
