There is that dress in a size 0. Tried the 2 on in-store and the top bunched out more. Ordered it before the sale because I couldn't find the 0 and wanted to try it. I'm not sure. It's cute but not my favorite either. I need to go steam it and try it again. It just came out of the box. I think I like it better without the belt too. Got to decide if I want to reorder with the sale and coupon.

I'll be honest, I don't really like the look... Of the two, the first looks worse..

The second one is passable, but only because the outfit is nice... would look better with a statement necklace I would think... the nail polish is a nice enough pop of color, maybe a bracelet (a new VS bracelet Wink)

Also, I just got this email

you know... that's true. i like the 2nd outfit and i like polka dots. the tie serves as less of a "tie" and more of a necklace there.

I have a good question for those of you ladies who travel a lot for family.

I'm going to Belgium in May for business, and when I studied abroad in Vienna, I made a friend who is now living in Belgium. I will be staying with her for about 5 nights, which is super generous. She was a good friend of mine in Vienna (even took me to her house in Hungary), and we keep in touch. Since she's opening up her house to me, I want to go with a gift. What are some things in America that are desirable?

A friend of mine from France comes back to the US and always always ALWAYS buys a bunch of Coach from the outlets because it is just so expensive there.

Things I was considering.
1) A coach wallet from the outlet? (probably about $75)
2) A Minnesota Twins t-shirt (possibly VS)? What's more MN/American than baseball, and t-shirts are always usable.
3) some sort of scarf? maybe coach?

So, I have a few questions...
1) How much do you think I should spend on a host gift?
2) Are there any other little food items that are unique to the US that people from Europe like?
3) Do any of those gift items sound good? I like the wallet idea, but I don't want it to be like...overkill...but the outlet has a lot of nice things, and I'm pretty sure I could find something.

Coach wallet and taking her out to lunch or dinner sounds good. My family is overseas, and they LOVE when I bring VS GWP's, VS is expensive there.. so go through some of your GWP's and maybe give her a VS swim tote and accessories instead of the coach wallet..

I agree with the 2...it bunched out more, and i also like with belt better... I felt like i couldn't get the ruffle to sit very nicely... didn't think about steaming it though!!

Now that i think about it, I don't think my auth user has ever had a card though so that may be why they didn't get a new one.
Finally got my new Forever card and $10 Reward. Called to get cards for my authorized buyers. Was told these have to be requested, not automatically sent. Curious if they will come with Rewards.

quality-wise, it is nice esp for free, even for $10 Teehee i'm in-between though. if i put the toggle in the closure, it's too big so it moves around too much, to the link next to it, it is tighter than i'd like.

What an amazing idea! I definitely have VS stuff I don't need. I bet she would love that...maybe I can get a smaller wallet so I don't feel so uncomfortable and some VS stuff. PERFECT!

I don't like taffy either...yuck Frown

Depends what your expectation of the Memorial Day will be. It could be 30/40% off the whole store. Is there anything else you are admiring? If you really want the dress and won't return it, you should get it now...at least use one A-List account with it.
That's a good point as the Memorial Day. Her birthday is the 15th, so I couldn't wait that long. I'm sure I'll find plenty more to buy by then. Teehee I noticed some new stuff on the site today. Whee

I ended up ordering her this dress http://www.express.com/clothing/s.../cat550001 & this one for me http://www.express.com/clothing/c.../cat550001 with my birthday code. My DS chose the color for her. I thought the Aztec print would be cute for her age, but he said to get that one. It's probably a good thing. If I end up reordering her an XS, I'll wear the salmon one. If I was younger, I would definitely get the Aztec print though.

Quote from nerdicus :
That's def my favorite of the bunch, but I've worn it so much already!

Traditionally the bride wears red. I looked it up today and you're actually not supposed to wear red, black, or white. : lol: they said prints are the best... Which is why I'm considering the twice-worn dress. But I've never worn the black or red one and I know she won't care.. She'll think I'm crazy for considering tradition at all.

Is the first one too casual? : (
I love learning about different traditions from you all. It's a good thing I'm learning something that's potentially useful. Mostly you all have taught me how to spend all your money. laugh out loud

I haven't been following the dress sale on Express, but from what I've noticed when I was stalking dress sales is that it should last at least a week, even if the tier expires. Not sure if this helps any though...you can also go for a clearance skater dress!
Thanks for the info.

I would say it runs larger than the tank peplums. It did not feel like the top had to stretch much at all to fit the chest. The XS basically fit me like the S in the tank peplums.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll try an XS. I'd feel like I won the lottery, if I could get a peplum top that doesn't need to be altered. Stick Out Tongue

I might steal dh's. he doesn't wear them.
I wore that style a few times in high school. It was trendy then. I never was crazy about the look, but HS is all about being trendy whether it looks good or not. laugh out loud I always paired it with heels for a more feminine look.

Quote from azn1x6flame :
I think it's awkward. I wouldn't know how to approach the person. Not insomuch as they're trying to make a fashion statement, but more as sexuality statement.
Good point. That wasn't a consideration, when I was in HS. If it were, no one would have admitted it back then.

The only candy I can think of that they don't have is a good variety of is sugar free. I have a diabetic friend from England that has a really hard time finding sugar free candy. She really is like a kid in a candy store, when she visits the US. laugh out loud Most Europeans think our chocolate is garbage, so I wouldn't go with that.

red, if it were me, I'd rather have the t-shirt than the wallet, but I couldn't care less about purses. I think it depends on your friend's personality. What type of thing does she normally buy for herself? I would think she has a good scarf selection there, but I could be wrong.

I really like thin scarves doubling as a headband or head piece. Kinda of like the retro style [modcloth.com]. Looks cute with a polka dot one!

Love this look. My grandmother did it and I think it suits people of all ages [unique-vintage.com]

Thin scarves tied to a tote/bag is cute too!

Scarves converted to wraps and shawls. I love that look!

Cute scarf look [stylerev.com]

Love this look [shutterstock.com]
And done this before [etsystatic.com]

Hope that gives you some ideas for style!

Dontknow Times have changed. I've seen some LGBT dormmates back in college do the tie thing, so I think my thoughts are different based on my experiences. I don't think it's proper for a professor to dress like that. And who can forget Ellen Degeneres with the tie thing. That's what I associate too Dontknow

BTW - cute dress!
