i talked on the phone with R for about 20mins on Tuesday night (after GC left) and towards the end of the conversation i told him that i'd had a frustrating couple of days, or actually more like a week or two since the crap with my ex happened last week. then i simply said, "can we have sex tomorrow night? i need to work out some frustration." he was not expecting that, and he said he didn't know what kind of mood he'd be in tomorrow (aka Weds) because he was also dealing with bullshit at work. he came home from work Tuesday wanting to punch somebody, so he didn't want to make plans for Weds just yet. i said that's fine, just let me know. we said goodnight.

yesterday (aka Weds) i sent a couple emails about this or that, and threw in a few flirty sexy statements that would blatantly HINT HINT that i wanted to see him for sexytime last night. he didn't reply either way, and didn't say a word about me coming over. i took that to mean it wasn't going to happen. i went home after work, made something to eat, had a couple beers, and by 7:30pm i was waiting for it to get dark outside so i could go to bed. he texted me around 8pm and asked, "What time does JME plan on making her presence known?"

i said he hadn't mentioned it all day, he wasn't very talkative at all, so i assumed he had plans or didn't want company. i said i was already curled up in bed, having had a bath and washed my face, and i was pretty much ready to fall asleep at any time. he said OK, and said nothing else.

this morning, i emailed and asked to come over tonight, and his reply? "Sorry I can't, I've got other plans tonight."

welcome to high school, folks. you said NO last night, i'm gonna say NO tonight. neener neener.

it doesn't help matters that he specifically told me he was staying home tonight to watch this Mel Brooks special on PBS (no cable TV, no DVR, if he wants to watch it then he has to watch it when it's on). i know for a fact he'll be at home on his couch in his underwear watching Mel Brooks at 10pm.

so yeah, that's a lot of words. sorry laugh out loud

Bipolar is a bit extreme, he's definitely not bipolar. But he's got some social awkwardness, huge communication problems, and a general inability to do more than one thing at a time without getting seriously frustrated. If I point out his frustrations and even attempt to help, no matter what the "tasks" are, he tends to get defensive and angry that I'd even suggest he might need help.

I have got to figure out what ails him laugh out loud My ex was definitely an Asperger's type, but this guy? I have no idea.
This is straight up childlike behavior. R sounds like a little boy trying to do adult things.

how do you make your jams
I looked at some recipes and theyr'e all over the place
when I google vegan jam I dont want to see SPLENDA as a sweetener vomit
Heat the fruit. Mash it up, add honey and pectin, and can. drool

We do that a lot around here because of all of the strawberry farms. They charge 2 bucks a quart.

I'd want to use a VERY light honey with a pear jam. Keep it light and pretty. One I googled looked dark brown. I made a sweet rhurbab like that last year and it tasted good, but wasn't pretty Mad

I see your reasoning there. Drinks or just dinner would be good, but I wouldn't waste my time at a movie with a guy who could be hiding in the dark from his wife.

TBH, he sounds like a bipolar dick, and i agree with vviles on this one.

Broth!!!!! Whee

My problem child did great on the GAPS. We're about to go back on it full time just because he needs it again, and I need to boost my system after all of these antibiotics. There are plenty of things you can eat. Just google "GAPS approved foods".
Dammit!

The whole broth thing would go over like a lead balloon with him. I found a list of recommended foods and...

RECOMMENDED FOODS

Almonds, including almond butter and oil - salicylates
Apples - SUPER high in salicylates
Apricots, fresh or dried - SUPER high in salicylates
Artichoke, French - won't even think about touching
Asiago cheese - dairy allergy
Asparagus - says they are "bisgusting"
Aubergine (eggplant) - could try
Avocados, including avocado oil - has texture problems, gags when he tries to eat
Bananas (ripe only with brown spots on the skin) - ok
Beans, dried white (navy), string beans and lima - ok
beans properly prepared
Beef, fresh or frozen - sometimes enjoys
Beets or beetroot - throws up when he attempts to eat
Berries, all kinds - SUPER high in salicylates
Black, white and red pepper: ground and pepper - too spicy
corns
Black radish - what the heck is this?
Blue cheese - dairy allergy...plus I am sure he would say is stinky!
Bok Choy - won't try
Brazil nuts - possible
Brick cheese - dairy allergy
Brie cheese - dairy allergy
Broccoli - "bisgusting" to him
Brussels sprouts - won't try
Butter - dairy allergy

Yep, I have surmised that I am pretty much farked when it comes to his diet!

I ended up feeling overwhelmed after I got home. Better today nod
My songs went over pretty well (except I badly mangled Re: Your Brains), and we did end up playing a couple Neil Young tunes (Powderfinger and I forget the name of the other one).

he is about F1's age, but he hasn't been a general contractor for more than a few years. he said he used to be a "desk monkey" and he got tired of sitting in one place all day. so he went to work for his stepdad and got out of the office setting.
I think he watched Office Space too many times.

i guess i'm just weary of a guy who is still living with his "ex-wife". i have no reason not to trust him, so i will believe him when he says they are in the process of separating and he is trying to get his money in order so he can move out. the fact remains that he still lives with his not-yet-ex, and i don't see how anything with him can progress as long as that's the case. i don't want to get his hopes up with dinner and a movie, that's too much like a real date. i would agree to meet him out for drinks one night, but only if we meet at the bar and go home by ourselves. Luckily Biker never called me last night. I am so glad I didn't have to talk to some woman I never met about her personal issues!

The odd thing that did happen is that Biker sent me a text saying he was going to make me a cheesecake and bring it to me on Monday. Ermm He never did that when we were dating, why would he want to do that now? The guy probably makes 3 or 4 cheesecakes a month and I only ever got a plain one at Thanksgiving. Mad
Why so many cheesecakes? Huh
Quote from beanqueen :
You may hafta explain that to me a bit more...what other data formats do you mean...what does it do...

Because at somepoint I'm hoping to get some stuff into a database and I hope we can pull data from excel as long as it's organized properly...
Maybe things have improved with newer versions, I don't know. But I've had a few projects that involved importing documents in various formats from a bunch of a client's vendors into SQL Server. Excel caused no end of issues with dates, ZIP codes, and various other data fields. I know all the things that are supposed to solve those problems, but I assure you they did not work for a surprising percentage of them.

House of the Rising Sun and Fortunate Son went over pretty well. I'm still having some performance anxiety (everyone go ahead and snicker now), but not with every song, which is weird (just sweating/nervousness, makes me goof up on chord changes and stuff sometimes). It turns out I can't sing Hallelujah in a low register with enough volume, so I'll have to try moving it up some. And this time after I did Requiem, someone asked if it was a Pogues song Big Grin

Feingold was hella Greedy to start. Over time it has become so much easier and once the entire pantry was converted over the cost wasn't so high on a weekly basis.

So many GAPS foods are on his Feingold Nono list. Sadwalk

Where there's a will, there's a way. I will look into this more.
