Rain should be changing to snow in a few hours...first snow of the season.
They're expecting around 3" (twss
)...maybe more, maybe less.

We have about 7 or 8 inches so far since about noon.
I lucked out - they had predicted 9 to 12 and so far only about 4 - think it went farther north of us - we ended up with more rain and ice - but driving with snow tires on was no problem - what scares me is the people with out the snow tires.
My tires are not pleasing me on the ice. Jury is still out...but I am looking and new wheels and tires right now.
It finally started snowing today in northern Indiana, so we can officially join the party.
Awful stuff to move around--I spent a couple hours before work yesterday and got everything at my house at least opened up but I still have to knock everything back later or I won't have room to put snow for the rest of the winter. I haven't even attempted to plow out my shop yet. I drove in there to get a tool Tuesday night and I was pushing snow with the headlights on my truck. I don't have enough gas for my plow truck so that is going to have to wait until I get in to town to pick some up (plow truck isn't licensed so I have to fill it with cans).
It is supposed to stay down in the 20s for high temperatures so I will probably let the rest go until next week when I have a couple of days off. I hate trying to get anything done in the mornings when I am afternoon shift. If it was going to get much above freezing I would have to get it moved before it melted down and then later froze into solid ice.
* TIMING... EARLY MONDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY MORNING.
* ACCUMULATIONS... SNOW POTENTIALLY ACCUMULATING ONE TO TWO FEET OR MORE IN THE MOST PERSISTENT LAKE SNOWS.
I don't live up in the mountains and it's not even Thanksgiving yet!

I keep seeing reports that 6 FEET is possible for locations just south of Buffalo.

The cloud wave is expected to shift North so tomorrow is gonna be an interesting day

And in those rare extremely cold winters where Lake Superior freezes almost completely over it's like flipping the switch off on the lake-effect snow.
