Which just proves that Congress has no idea whatsoever about what the real workings of the laws that they pass are.

This law was spoon fed to Congress by the insurance companies and anyone with a brain should have realized exactly who would end up getting rich(er) off of it.
One of the health insurance companies I hold is up 300% since Obamacare passed. Yeah, Obamacare is really destroying the private health insurance companies. Silly GOPs.

Unless your employer offers "affordable" coverage which can be up to 9.5% of your total household income, then you are not eligible for subsidies.
That still works out to about the $94,000 total for a family of four because an employer group decent family plan for 4 in California is $700-$800/mo (9.5% of $94k is $744/mo) for most carriers like blue cross, blue shield. Same diff, but another way of saying it. You'll still get the subsidy, and probably better insurance.

everyone doesn't have a right to healthcare ............................................ recognize the difference between having the right to have something vs the right to acquire it.

what A$$ backwards thinking is that. Go look at European countries or Canada where you pay higher taxes and everyone gets medical. Are you telling me you want to only see people who have money and can afford insurance to get treatment and the rest of the suckers just die. I have amazing farking insurance right now for dirt cheap..... I call it the Cadillac plan aka Gold (actually tempted to look into the platinum plan aka Bentley Wink through obamacare ). When I was in high school at the age of 17 my family was not doing that well financially and we had some sort of medicare medicaid chip program.

Either way when i was literally about to die and puking up my guts. We went into the ER 10 hours later and after an immediate CT scan they gave me 2 hours to live due to an inflamed appendix (Appendicitis) that is on the verge of rupturing. I had that sucker yanked out right away and went on to complete college at Mizzou with 2 degrees working at a Fortune Top 50 investment bank with an awesome insurance policy (apparently I earned the right to insurance which I had a long farking time ago in Canada as a kid).

I would not want anyone who does not have access to medical treatment to experience the pain of an inflamed appendix. I would not want anyone's appendix to burst I don't care how much you abuse the system or ask for freebies / handouts. There is a human thing to do and a ruthless thing to do. What you are saying is flat out ruthless that "everyone doesn't have a right to healthcare" . My family would technically have no right to insurance when I was in high school and with your thinking I would have never made it to first day of college. Now how the fark am I suppose to try and be a contributing member of society if I can't even get my appendix look at since my family did not earn the right to insurance

You mean premiums that are from 70%-300% higher for most working Americans is more affordable, and that's those who aren't just losing their jobs or hours due to the huge cost to employers if they have 50+ "full-time" workers? Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

But hey, keep dreaming that dream as American power is shipped overseas, and he negotiates with the Iranian regime instead of Republicans in Congress! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

What kind of crappy insurance was that for $60, and what was the deductible?

You can check what it would cost you at coveredca.com if you're in California, and pre-existing condition denials are a thing of the past.
I just checked that coveredca.com
the bronze plan is even worse and has shit for coverage.

I just plugged in some numbers- 30 y.o, $30k income. $167 per month after subsidy !!!
That's for a $5000 deductible any typical 30 y.o will never reach.

I currently pay $63 for the same crappy insurance with $5000 deductible through blue cross.

Thank you obamacare! You fk'd this up for many people.

Now I just hope bluecross won't keep jacking up my premium.

Please don't quote Fox. they are an entertainment company, not a news source. They admit it.

Check out www.coveredca.com. It's a similar story for all states (through different websites) and MOST Americans will pay the same of LESS for the same or BETTER coverage. Only those making over $94k for a family of four will pay more, and not that much, and they will not have to deal with pre-existing condition denials as those are illegal now.

READ for YOURSELF before trusting an entertainment company for your news. You might as well get important information from E! online. Just as stupid.

Quoted for truth. You can find this kind of info all over the internet and cable news, but people are just that ignorant somehow that they buy whatever tripe is thrown out at them as sound-bites.

Just posting to make sure you know about the issue that if your employer offers "affordable" coverage it would make you ineligible. That is screwing me from getting the subsidy since they think ~$85 a month for a 23 year old that doesn't smoke, drink, doesn't take unnecessary risks and has only bad acid reflex is affordable to someone making $8 an hour. So I have to buy it through the exchange at full price, cut my pay to make under $15,800 a year to be eligible for medicaid, buy it through my employer, or pay the penalty tax.

Is that insurance subsidized by your employer? I don't know of ANY Blue Cross plan that's $63/mo a lacarte. Enlighten me with actual facts and details of this magical plan you have now for $63.

CNN is an entertainment company too by that definition, as is ESPN, so is NBC which blasts news. Your point? You're adorable, but not too bright. As far as the facts go, I have checked. The increases and horrible economic effects are indeed true. Hell, I know several people who are going to have their premiums go up by over double, and one guy who's losing his job because his employer needs to keep it under 50 full-time.

You have no idea what you are talking about? How can you say this is something good when our politicians exempt them self from it. When unions are not supporting it. When company after company ( Disney, Walgreens ) are offering less hours to their employees just not to pay for their medical benefits. When every single person that had medical insurance before has to pay more under obamacare for same or less benefits. Do you pay less now? Please tell us how you do it, maybe you found the sweet spot. Before if you could not afford the healthcare was ok. Now you gotta pay a fine.
