read this http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wa...d=20804317

When asked if the company will honor items sold to customers at the mistakenly low prices, Jariwala said the company is "still working through those details."

and this http://www.turnto23.com/money/con...ite-hacked

While United Airlines recently honored some $10 tickets offered by mistake on its site, a retailer does not have to honor an error, especially if it is the result of hacking.

You suggest it's safer to walk in front of him rather than follow?

I like how you read into what I am saying as I want them to do something for my personal gain... I honestly lost zero sleep over not getting any of my walmart orders fulfilled. Nor did I mention anywhere that I thought that they should have filled every single order.

Perhaps you should read what I said, instead of pushing your own thoughts on the subject.

Again, this was a way to get themselves "cheap" advertising and have their names out there... especially this close to the holidays. Regardless of me getting a 300 dollar TV or not, it would have been a smarter decision than sending everyone 10 dollars.

Never once did I say the "customer is always right", this was something that could have been embraced by them... that again is what I said. Don't be so quick to push someone else down to get your point out. From a marketing perspective I would have handled it differently

Just out of curiosity, why do they need more advertising? Who hasn't heard of walmart? Crazy

The only advertising they've done lately that I've seen is to show their meat and produce and junk is supposedly high quality. (It's not IMO but that's another story.)

Fulfilling these orders doesn't help convey that message. It might show they have slightly better customer service than most would expect, but let's be honest: no one shops at Walmart for their customer service. laugh out loud

People shop at Walmart for cheap shit. They know it, we know it, everyone knows it.

In the grand scheme of things, what does better for walmart? sending people 10 dollars (in which nobody outside of the people getting the 10 dollars care about or know about) or showing some people on the news getting 1200 dollar TVs for 300 bucks ? No they don't need advertising, but if people saw that they could get even better shit for cheap... it would make people at least check out their site.

Coca cola doesnt need advertising, and they advertise... everyone can always use more advertising, that is why it is so expensive. If you are making good money, and you get offered a raise, you would turn it down because you dont need it? need is not a reason to not do something.

Right?! LMAO

I'm with HLIM. It totally sounds like bitterness about not getting the mistakes honored.

All I am saying is that they have no obligation to make you or anyone else happy. they are in it for profits and they aren't going to take a multi million dollar loss to appease people who are still going to shop at walmart regardless of what decision they made....

you linked me to a post about "the customer is always right"... is wrong. Which to me would imply that you think my argument is the customer is always right... I guess that was silly of me and I apologize.

They have no obligation is correct, but they do make people happy by selling cheap shit... most of it is cheap shit which is why it costs so little.... The fact that I have to explain my point again makes me want to forget how to type.

CHEAP NATIONWIDE ADVERTISING!!!!!!!! if you were some company in bumblefark iowa that ran an appliance store... and you sold 30,000 dollars worth of merchandise that should have cost 75,000 because of a mistake and the news picked up your story and people started buying your shit... that is worth way more than the 45k hit. Does walmart need more publicity ? no, do they need more sales? yes... they always do.
