This is a freebie site that has everything!!!!! The cool thing about this site is that they show you pictures of the deal (kinda like yelp i guess), and you can search by location (you can save your time and find what you're looking for around your area), by categories or by keywords yummy

Thanks for the 411.

Yeah, I was thinking summer is too blah. But, I've never been to Orlando. So, this is some good info. As with any tourist area, things are pricey. But, since I had passes I was trying to figure out if I wanted to do a two park thing out of it. But, from what it sounds like, I might be good with one.

What would of helped though, if I had gotten the 1K PR points from MCR. But, they went OOS so fast. I think I'm only 2K points shy of 30K. So, with that 30K, I could get a decent night somewhere, or a couple of so so free nights. Or use the points for reduced rates. I'm not sure which way would be more beneficial.

So, I am just hoping that the points return. That would help out greatly. Maybe I can plan it for next year then, in March. This year is just impossible, plus, I'd like to go with a date.
Try naming your own price on priceline. I've gotten some terrific deals that way. Seems like 95% or more of the time I get one form of Marriot or another from that family of properties.

I've been to both over the years. Universal Studios is more of a theatrical "ride the movies" while IOA is more like a traditional theme park. Universal Studios is older and is currently undergoing some changes. It used to be that they had rides like Earthquake, King Kong, Back to the Future, and Jaws. All of those are gone now. The only ride that comes to mind right now is The Mummy, which was good. They are mostly rides where you get into a cart and it is inside a building and goes through scenes from the movie it portrays. They also have some live action shows like Beetlejuice, but I have never seen those.

IOA is very new, I believe it was built in 2002 or 03. They have quite a few roller coasters. The Hulk is a big one and one of the first things you see. Each section of the park is broken up into "lands" a lot like Disney. There is a comic book side, dinosaurs, Harry Potter etc. It is bigger and has a lot more "thrill" than Universal Studios.

If you can handle riding roller coasters and fast rides (I can't Frown ) then go to IOA. If you prefer nostalgia and less body impact/G force rides, go for the original.

A few things to note. Parking for either park is very far away from the parks themselves. You park in a giant garage and walk to the park using a series of walkways or moving side walks. Then you hit "City Walk" which is full of shops, restaurants and night clubs. It is a LOT of walking for the whole day, so be prepared for that. Also, it is pretty expensive (as are most theme parks). You can eat in the park or you can eat at City Walk. IIRC you cannot bring any snacks or beverages into the parks.

If you are coming in the summer, I would skip it all together. It is ungodly hot and humid and it rains almost every, single day. Not to mention it is crowded a lot. I think it is miserable from around May through October. Sweet spot would be March.

I've been ill with a sinus like bug that is almost two weeks long now. Mostly congestion, drainage, and a cough due to back drainage. No real cold or flu like symptoms otherwise.

I went to the auto show and had a FANTASTIC BBQ dinner afterwards. OMG that was some good eating.

Replacing the sink in my bath has turned into a real challenge. The new sink has a shorter backsplash than the one I took out so I am not needing to figure out some way to deal with the gap under the tiles and above the top of the new sink. I think I have found a solution for it, but I need to do some prep work and will need to find a way to shorten two tiles I bought. 4 tiles accross will take care of the horizontal gap and that leaves a verticle gap on each side that is shorter than 1 tile going down. Once I get all that worked out, I need to install the 6 tiles. After some time to dry (1 day maybe) I need to seal the sink to the cabinet and then caulk everything in. In the mean time, I have prep work to clean the places where the tile will go, shorten two, and find a way to put a new base and back to the cabinet. I decided not to replace the cabinet as there are too many issues with replacing it.

That having been said, the new sink was $39 with a cabinet that I wont be using or $56 without a cabinet. Same make, same model, and by the same manufacturer. So I went with the $39 option. I bought a new faucet too, but spent more than I wanted to for that to get one that was fully assembled and with a real easy to install stopper system. The time and aggrevation saved will be worth the extra cost. However, the same faucet online with free shipping is $19.75 less but the store will not match their online prices. So I ordered a new faucet online to return instore with the receipt from my in-store purchase to save the money. I bought some things I thought I would need with the replacement, but I am returning them now that I found some tile that will work. I'm hoping to sell the cabinet in a yard sale this spring for $20 to help reduce the cost of the refurb. I do like the new faucet.

When you have an 87 year old home, you face challenges that you just dont plan for. Nothing is as easy as it should be. The new sink is a real improvement in the bathroom and I look foward to having it done once and for all some day.

I bought a groupon for tickets to Saturday's Symphony Orchestra concert and I'm looking forward to that. I went late last year and really enjoyed myself.

Good news on the job front. Later this year our 401K contribution match is increasing from 60 cents on the dollar to 80 cents on the dollar. No increase on the percent of pay that they will match on though. A merit increase for the year has been announced and bonus payments are expected. The merit won't be enough to keep up with cost of inflation, but a raise is a raise and beats not getting one.

I'll be taking a foreign language class this winter. I don't think I will learn enough to be fluent, but it will be a start. I never learned one in school as computer languages met that requirement in high school and college.

I hope everyone is doing well.

wave hope all is well.

It looks a little like winter now. Some areas already have melted from the nice sunny day. It might be gone before the next snow storm next week.

Greetings.

I hope all is well with everyone.

I hope those of you with MCR are making use of the bonus points.
Plus, I think for the next few days, Coke Zero 12 pack flaps are doubling. I *think* it ends Monday?

So, anyone going to have any extra Coke Zero flaps after they enter theirs? I'm sure we could work out some kind of trade. The kicker is I had a couple of those and entered them recently. Oh well.

Don't forget, you only have a few more weeks to use up the 12 character codes.

I had reserved some Zero/Sprite caps. I'm guessing I should enter those so they don't go to waste. The odd thing. Coke hasn't mentioned the 12 character codes yet this year. In the rules, they say they would mention it. But, of course, they tend to forget a lot of stuff.

I considered getting that hat today. I saw it in the past but wasn't willing to use the points. But, now, that it's cheaper and having bonus points. I thought it could be good to get. But, I'm not sure if it would just float around like all the t-shirts. So, I passed on it. If MCR does end this year, like it's slated to do. I wonder if they'll even bother with gift cards. They'll just want to get rid of their junk. It's like do we play the waiting game in the end...

Other than that, it's been school school school. With some Netflix squeezed in there. Maybe this weekend I'll finish the series I've been watching over the years.
That is a nice deal from eBay. You get $15 eBay bucks when you sign up with Netflix through them. It's a free month & $15. How can you go wrong with that. It works for me since I don't have cable. So, there is all kinds of stuff to watch.

Still have the congestion bug, but not feeling ill.

Cold, overcast, and a chance of snow today

Movie night out with some friends tonight - looking forward to that.

My online order arrived yesterday allowing me to return that to a store with an instore receipt to get $20.94 back since they would not match their own corporate website price. It's a bit of a pain, but almost $21 is worth the trouble. I don't understand for the life of me why they wont match their own website pricing. I am returning a few other items and will actually get about $105 back all together.

I also received a refund check for a warranty claim on my failed door lock.

You'ld be better off going to see _Underworld_Awakening_.

Girls with dragon tatoos you tend to have to rent by the hour and that can get costly.
