My favorite crockpot recip that doesn't go dry:
3 cut up sweet potatoes on botto followed by 2 ham steaks barely cut up to fit in pot, 2 cups of baby carrots on top and then add 1 and 1/2 cups of maple syrup. Start it when I leave for work, it's done when I get home. Love it. I have also substituted regular potatoes for the sweet potatoes too.
Oh mentioning some deals that I didn't know about. But, I think in the past I had entered into some Hershey's contest via mail in for second chance. I end up getting the Mummy series on VHS...
Thanks for the reminder about the Kelloggs. I did the Cars2 promo and I'm actually still have to find one more code so I can redeem what I'd like out of that. That was a short lived promo on the boxes and I was not going to pay $5 for just one box to get what I need.
Speaking of MIA. I haven't seen OGG in a long time. I think the last time I saw him, he sent out a box of MCR to Mich. In fact, I think that is the only time he has showed up in the last year. I think it was this time last year that I received the MCR box from him.
Speaking of which. I hope all of those who received the PM's with MCR codes in them from last year have used those up. They are probable 12 character codes and those are set to expire on March 1st. I did come across a collection of caps that I thought I had entered. But, they were still good. So, now, I'm thinking I had passed those on at one time and they never got entered by who ever received the PM.

A crockpot of boneless pork roast in a garlic, herb, and white wine broth (1/2 cup of wine, so not a lot of liquid) with potato (small, peeled white potato and skin-on redskin potato), large pearl onions, baby carrots, celery, and some corn-on-the-cob nibblets. I will toss a coleslaw with some light russian dressing when I get home and should be eating withing 20-30 minutes of getting home tonight.
I'm looking forward to hearing what she should of my food. I may take from of the pork roast over to her. I'm sure it will come out good. My crockpot meals almost always do.

The Kellogg cash was almost the same way, you cut them off of boxes of cereal, bid on items. Got meal vouchers for DisneyLand..that was a great vacation.

One month of the year is behind us and the month of love and black history is upon us. May someone special in your life acknowledge you for the special person that you are and may those without someone special find someone special or at least a new friend.
This is a tough month for me financially. License plate tabs need to be renewed, the water bill comes this month, an annual life insurance policy bill arrives for payment very early next month, and so on. The water bill will be a bad shock as I had a failed flapper one day and didn't come home for several hours later while the toilet just kept running the entire time. I dread getting the bill in the mail. Somehow I will get by and if worse comes to worse there is always savings. It's just a tight month is all.
One thing I have been doing is making more meals at home. I hope that will save me some money.
I'll be making a trip up to Zehnder's for my free chicken dinner sometime this month. b_r and sf will likely know what I am talking about.
It was such a nice spring like day yesterday and another nice day today as well. It's been a mild winter and for that I am so thankful.
The windshield repair seems to be done right this time. I look forward to a Saturday that's all mind this week instead of devoting it to another attempt and repair/replacement.
I took matters into my hands yesterday to help a friend with a Best Buy nightmare. My friend bought an Itunes giftcard online at Best (worst) Buy for an instant downloadable giftcard to put into a neice's birthday card using his debit card. The money was withdrawn immediately from his checking account. The issue is that in typing our his email address he typed out yahoo.coom rather than yahoo.com and never got the email with the code. Many, many phone calls to We-are-a-horror-to-do-business-with Buy and hours, and hours of time on the phone only produced a long series of notes and case numbers that never resulted in an Itunes code. Finally, after nearly a month of calls and lost hours of his life, I took up the charge and managed to get someone to open another case number. I have little hope that the case will result in anyone there doing anything about the lost code, but I did manage to get a refund for the card that as of this morning actually appeared in my friend's bank account. My friend did not get an email about the refund as I was told he would, but the money appearing in the account is a good sign. The second part is that the email with the Itunes code is supposed to be resent to the corrected email address no later than Friday. He's heard that many times before, as have I while trying to help, but at least the first part of getting his money back worked. I hope the Itunes code comes through for his neice and for him. Getting the code and the cash back is the least they can do for all the mess-ups, hang-ups, false information, lack of helpfulness, and broken processes that Worst Buy has. I have had some bad experiences in store, and with all these issues online I am now determined to buy someplace else whenever I can. It's been a nightmare. They have no sence of customer service.

You do know when you do for others it comes back to you 10 fold. Hope it helps with your rough expenses.

Played a Subway IWG mentioned in MCR. Received 40 MCR points.
Now, the next thing I can get, chips/cookie/points. Um, I'll take the points, but, it does say limit one prize per category. But, maybe they stick the points into different categories. I haven't fully checked it out yet. You can get a free cookie by doing the survey, so that would be a wasted prize.

This is the third time. I knew about the last one, and didn't know about the first time. It seems this guy keeps falling into a pattern. There is a teenage son (15) and a toddler girl (2). It's not an easy situation. Last time then decided to stay together and work on things. It was difficult but they made it through a lot of things including financial hardships, long-long-term unemployment, his going back to school, and a variety of other things. From the outside looking in, it seems she has been a good mother and wife. Granted, I haven't spoken to him and I don't know his side of things, but I don't think this is a case of not having a loving and supportive spouse. If anything, as a spectator, I see him not doing much for her or supporting/appreciating her.
It wont be easy for her to decide what action to take. I wouldn't want to be in her shoes. You tend to have invested after all those years and there are the kids to consider too.
It's amazing to me that people seem to undervalue what they have and how it appears that what they have to lose isn't considered by those that stray. Assuming my friend is right - the other woman and my friend's husband could lose their spouse, families, savings, homes, future, and so much more as well. What will they gain? Someone else with a history of cheating? Someone else that gives up and looks for someone new when things turn boring or difficult? From what I have seen, it was my friend that was the provider, so I'm not sure how he thinks he'll fair on his own.
It's just sad. All I can do is provide viewpoints for my friend to consider, and listen. I can provide emotional support and pull her back from the ledge when she begins to see herself as a failure. I can't tell her what to do. It's not my relationship. I'm not the one that knows what splitting up or staying together like this will be like. I'm not the one with over 21 years invested.
I pray for her.
