Rock

yeah, yeah... not a whine, bitch or rant - but I just went to the best wedding ever. The groom walked down the aisle to the theme from Star Wars, there was cat grass on the reception tables, origami swans everywhere, bamboo to take home and burritos from Freebirds! for the buffet. Rock

Best. Wedding. Ever.

Token rant: I should be sleeping now. I'll have to be up way to early tomorrow but I'm still to jazzed from the wedding to sleep. Such a sweet couple. heart

Hide please forgive me, arj. I've been good! Cut me some slack this time. This is where my friends hang out.
That sounds so cool! I wish we had done something different like that.

The weather right now is somewhere between 55-70 during the days, and 45-55 at night. My soil is mostly reg dirt, witha little sand in it..there's a lot of sandstone around here. It's not too bad. I wasn't planning on doing potted plants, I didn't think it would work. I have zucchini, watermelon, canteloupe (sp?), green beans, cucumbers in seeds, and I am going to buy tomato plants already started. Last year, I just did tomatoes, and Robert dug holes and filled them with potting soil, then put our reg. dirt on top of it. I don't think we will have any more freezes. A frost is possible, but not likely, unless we have a crazy old snap like we did last year- we lost all of our pears and apples.
if its not getting to the frost/freezes.. go ahead and plant. as long the tomatos grew well, then its ok. but it wouldn't hurt to test your npk levels (nitrogen, potassium, phosphorous) and adjust accourdingly.

Arj....this is part rant so bare with me..

Our soil is completely rocky. I mean, you can dust off some dirty but then it's totally rock. I've managed to plant a lilac plant (that's done well for about four years), a hosta and two little flowering plants, one a bulb, one not that come back every year. However anything else I've tried to plant dies. I've spent more money than I care to think about on plants. We've got a TON of trees in our yard, several dogwoods too and baby trees growing up all around the big trees (mostly walnut) but anything I plant, dies. I'm very good with watering them but it doesn't seem to matter.

I make sure I get plants that are good in partial shade because there's one area of our house that gets great sun for half the day. There are some random tulips and daffodils that were here before we moved here and some trees that have purple blooms in the spring that were also here before we got here and they look great. I think it's just trying to establish new plants that's giving me problems.

The spot is currently vacant due to the fact Burn shaved his beard and he's no longer my beard buddy.

some areas just aren't meant to grow plants. if you really want to.. make a gardening box. not something in the ground.. but a mix of good soil/top soil in a box.. deep enough it'll sustain some stuff.

For a full-blown adult with 3 degrees (BS in bio, Masters in edu, Masters in theology), my sister is incredibly immature, naive, and just plain DUMB about a ton of shi-poopoo. Ranting I don't want to say more out "here" in the public... But come freaking on!!!

Get a freaking clue, already. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

trees are naturally heartier than pansy's... hence the name Stick Out Tongue

you have to care for them. if your husband really loves you.. have him lay out a brick of a flower pot. fill it with good soil for some flowers.

somethign like this

basically plants need those 3, you need at least 16 of each to grow healthy plants. if you're low on something, you'd need fertilzer that is higher in that nutrient. look on the bags on fertilizer.. it'll usually say 15-15-30 or something like that.

this is only more stuff if you're having issues growing. if things are growing fine don't bother.
