I changed the name of the thread because I think that Q's CVS Lounge gives a better representation of what the thread is about. This isn't a deals thread although I will sometimes be posting deals. I'll probably talk more about Transylvania and the stock market than I will about the drugstores but the main thing is that is that I want this to be a cool place to hang out.

If you bought lockers, you'd want to work a deal with the storage company where you could see the units once they're abandoned and make them an offer. Unless the storage company is selling the stuff themselves, they probably want it gone asap. I think you'd do better with that than with auctions. Auctions seem like a very tough way to make a living. If you're up against Dave every week, you aren't going to have much fun, it'll be tough to win, and you'll end up paying too much. Didn't Dave end up broke or something?
I know the storage co. does open locker before auction to list contents as ryder said, (you can see the listings in the classifieds), so when they put another lock on, why don't they just keep the key and use it to open the lock (so they can reuse it) instead of cutting off the lock?
Is it just for the drama on the show?
Remember a couple years back when Dave sued the production company saying they planted items in the lockers? Was that found to be true?
Forgot how all that was resolved. Google search at the time came up with the legal doc's and other info on why he sued. I think it was after he was let go from the show.
And,,,DQ, They advertised "Barry's back!" last nite. Couldn't read time, dates or where. Was just in the right bottom corner of screen.
Oh, we'll match the price but you can't use a coupon...
But the other store will take a coupon at that price...
Look, your policy says right here that you can. I printed it
out for you.
How do I know that this is our policy? You could've made it up.
Go look at your copy...
We don't have one. Sir, I'm sorry but we can't take the coupon...

I'd bet that the lock is for drama and they plant stuff.
Barry is interesting to me because he's a collector and also doing it for profit. That's a fine line to walk and most people end up not being able to do it. It was a problem I had. I should've nixed the collector part right away. It makes a big difference in the stuff you buy and you end up keeping stuff that you should sell.

they can look it up at their gift registry kiosks. it should be connected to target.com.
the price match policy is actually located in 2 places on their website.
this is the one on the corporate page-
https://corporate.targe
this is the price match policy in the help section-
http://help.target.com/help/subca...26+Pric
don't give up so easily. you need to train them so you won't constantly have this problem. if they don't budge, ask to speak to the mgr. and if they don't budge, b/c they just sent over the gstl who doesn't know much more than the first person, just ask for the LOD. they can print out their own copy that clearly states they take mq's after price match, but not tq's and cw. just be pleasant and friendly and sympathetic when they tell you people try to get over on them with the q's all the time.
here is somebody who had the same problem in the target chat thread-
and you wonder why they need common core.
they suck at reading comprehension. you can't use a TQ anymore in PM, not that you really could b4 anyway since you apply the TQ first and then price match. it was the dumbest thing ever. you can still use MQ's.
Say- *I know you didn't read it.* bet them $100 it's specifically written in the price matching policy. and then whip it out!
this is exactly what it says!!!!!
Can I use a coupon when price matching? [target.com]
Manufacturer coupons will be applied after the price match is made. Target coupons and Cartwheel offers can't be applied with price match.

WILL= positive, can be done
CAN'T= negative, can't be done
what is soooooo hard?????
and they should be able to access the policy at the gift registry kiosks and on their ipad minis. but i would recommend bringing multiple copies and handing them out. (it embarrasses them when you ask them if they would like a copy of their own policy hot off the press that day.
the policy is THE SAME at target stores and target.com. just that stores cannot take care of target.com purchases that you want to price match to other retailers. if you made a target.com purchase you need to call the 800 # to get a price adjustment.
Seriously, it's line #1 and line #2 in the price matching policy.
What's the price matching policy for Target stores? [target.com]We'll match the price if you buy a qualifying item at Target, then find the identical item for less at Target.com, select online competitors, or in Target's or a competitor's local printed or digital ad. Price matches may be requested at the time of purchase or price adjustments within 14 days of purchase. The full list of online competitors [target.com] is available online or at Guest Services. Some exclusions apply.
What's the price matching policy for Target.com? [target.com]Target.com has the same policy as purchases made in stores. Stores are unable to match or adjust the price for a Target.com order. Please call Target.com Guest Services at 1-800-591-3869 for a price adjustment. Some exclusions apply.

they are supposed to be hiring cartwheel customer liaisons to help customers use their apps in the store. b/c obviously they made it too complicated. during their down times, they are supposed to pull *pick up in store* orders. i'll bet we could all be hired b/c we know the policy and where things are hidden in the store better than the current employees.
what i would do is go to the gift registry kiosk and pull up the price match policy. and then go talk to them. it saves time. also do it when you have plenty of time to have it out w/ them.
i've found that if you demonstrate you have a very clear understanding of the policies and follow them, they actually become nice to you and say hi when they see you. i just did this last week at target and i saw one of the employees i had dealt with yesterday and she was very nice and took care of all the things the cashier didn't know how or forgot, namely my 4 reusable bag credits, my gift receipt and also did 2 post q's for me. i've also had the same experience at shoprite and sns. i had it out w/ the FEM at shoprite. i had over a dozen q's and in front of her i took a highlighter and highlighted all the unique identifiers to prove that all my q's were not photocopies. i even told her the one that came in pdf so there was no unique identifier, i only used 1 from the email they sent me. so that's why all the others i used 4 like q's but only 1 pdf. so now she greets me every time she sees me.
there is a big caveat now that the price match policy was updated 10/1. since target.com is now listed as a competitor, technically they only have to pm 1 like item. it might not be worth your time if the difference is less than a dollar. but i've heard that the price of otc meds can vary widely and it might be worth it.
I'd bet that the lock is for drama and they plant stuff.

getting emotionally attached to belongings is is a common problem when you are trying to do business. people mix business with personal and get emotional about business when you need to think of it as just business. you see it a lot in those real estate shows. people don't want to listen to the experts about how to stage their home, about neutral colors and no personal, unique items. and they always think their home is worth more than it is until they are taken around to the comp houses in their neighborhood or they hear the comments people make about their house via hidden camera and they realize their house is not so special nor will people pay for the upgrades they paid so much money for.
This deserves a post of it's own. They make it seem like when somebody spends $500 on a locker and comes up with a $550 value that they made a $50 profit. That's not even close to how it works. ...
