I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

Edit (11/19/2019): I appreciate the dozens of responses I got in 2019, but this post is nearly four years old and was written when the card was just being released with bare amounts of information. I have since received all my answers, signed up for this card, and have signed up for 15+ other credit cards since.. haha. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing this information. I like the 3% cash back on restaurants and 4% cash back on gas.
Is there another credit card without an annual fee that offers higher than 3% cash back on restaurants?
With this being managed by Citi, do others also think that we can generate virtual credit card numbers for this card?
Tofu Vic
AMEX gold offers 4% on food and restaurants there is an annual fee but you get over $200 in credit for travel and food too..
Can one convert a Citi Double Cash to a Citi COSTCO card? Do you have to be on the Double Cash for a certain period before you can product change to the CITI costco? Once you switch to Citi Costco are you stuck in that card forever or can you then product change to another Citi card?

AFAIK you can PC into the Costco card, but not out of it... typically you have to have an account open at least 12 months before they allow a product change on it

so they allowed me to PC from Citi Simplicity to Double Cash (no direct route from Simplicity to COSTCO). I guess this means I am stuck on Double Cash for a year.
FYI citi reward 1 point = ~$0.06 compare to chase 1 point = $0.10..
Only if you use the worst possible redemption value methods for both.
Also the card this thread is actually about doesn't even earn citi points, it's 3% cash back for restaurants for example...so your comment makes even less sense.
Got approval today, and need to buy a new dishwasher... any way to figure out the card # before it arrives in mail? Thank you!
Apply in store and they will print a temp card that can only be used at Costco in person. If you already applied on line c call them they can give you a voucher you can use one time to buy before you get the card. They will also overnight the card generally.
As far as the warranty goes, I understand that the if you buy an electronic the one year warranty is doubled at costco and then doubled again for the credit card benefit (for 4 years of coverage).
I'm assuming this applies to non-costco purchase as well? If I were to purchase a laptop from Best Buy .. would it add those 2 years to the 1 year warranty?
Also, does the full product have to be paid on the card or can the card be used for partial payment?

Yes, if you buy from other places like Best Buy/Walmart/Target/Lowe's/etc. citi credit card will extent the warranty.
I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure the product has to be paid with the citi card entirely. I'm not sure how it works if you have 5 appliances and you used the citi card to pay for 2 and the rest with a different card. Would confirm with the Citi customer service before acting on anything. Better safe than sorry.
Regardless of the benefits, I refuse to use any Citi credit card. Made that mistake once, and they sent obscene amount of junk mails. I got like 2-3 junk mails from Citi every week. Wish Costco brings back Amex. I love their customer service. Filed a claim for extended warranty on a laptop that I bought almost 2 years prior. The process couldn't have been easier.

Because Costco-citi paid Slickdeals to promote this. And it is happening again.
