I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

No mention of double warranty extension as with current Costco Amex
that's part of Visa Signature.

In addition to these are premium members still getting 2% back from Costco?
yes, Costco membership and incentives are not related to credit card membership and incentives

Partially be outsourcing customer service to India. AmEx keeps it all American.
I rarely got american on customer support of amex, they all are same. Not saying american are good or indian are bad etc.. just that amex is no different

AmEx will offer you a new AmEx card to replace your Costco branded card. If you take the new card, your age of credit history will be not be impacted.
Where'd you hear this? I'd like to keep an Amex card as I really enjoy their benefits.

i normally use my own Amex, not Costco Amex. Should i apply Costco visa or just use visa cards i already own include: freedom, slate, prefered, diamond citi, etc.. will i get same benefits?
No, of course not. You won't get the benefits of this card, you'll get whatever benefits you're entitled to under your current VISA cards. If you want these benefits, you'll have to apply for this card (unless you're a Costco AmEx cardholder--then you'll be automatically migrated to this card.)

Do my credit limits carry through from the Amex card? Are there going to be new limits that could be less/greater than my current account?

Couldn't find it in the FAQs.

Sallie Mae, Penfed, and I think there's another that gives 5% back on gas with no fee.

I have the Penfed and love the rewards. Customer service can be slow at replying at times.

Update: thought about this a bit more.

I have the AmEx Blue Cash Preferred, which is 3% gas. I also have the Citi Double Cash (Mastercard), which is 2% on everything. I also have a Chase Freedom (Visa), which is 1% on everything.

So in comparison, the Citi Costco is only 1% more on gas (4% Citi Costco vs. 3% AmEx Preferred), 1% more on restaurants (3% Citi Costco vs. 2% Citi Double Cash), and 1% more on Costco (2% Citi Costco vs. 1% Chase Freedom or any other Visa that is now accepted at Costco).

1% gas, 1% Costco, 1% restaurants? Probably not worth opening another card. Maybe good for some, but not if you already have a credit card arsenal. I will give them credit, though, as it is still an upgrade, however slight.
After this announcement, is there a reason you'd carry an $85/year card? Do you buy a lot of groceries outside of Costco?

I have costco amex, and just had chat with AMEX, they said they can convert it to AMEX blue WITHOUT HARD PULL, so you can keep your amex. But she asked me to call customer service as she can't do it over chat.

This card has some very nice benefits, but make sure you look at where you spend money to determine if it makes sense.

For example, if you have a Cap One or Barclays travel card, you get 2% back in points to use for travel on everything you spend. If you don't spend enough in the high return items for this new Costco visa card (gas, costco items, dining and travel), it might not be worth it. For us, we spend more than half of our credit card spending on recurring bills, healthcare, insurance, utilities, groceries and other things that would only get 1% back on this card.

If you can, pull your annual summary from 2015 on your other cards and take a look.

Can we get a solid answer on whether or not account age will be reset with the move?

when will they start accepting VISA? i know it says June 20th for the Costco Visa but will they accept other VISA cards before that? Im thinking of my chase freedom thatll have 5% back at warehouse stores starting in April
I say at worst, once June 20th hits, just get $1500 worth of Costco Gift card from Costco to max out your "warehouse points" and then use that card to buy stuff from costco.

I don't see much value in "extended warranties" when one buys groceries or gas anyways. Also, Costco has very generous warranty policy on most of their products.
