This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

What about my cats genital herpes? You didnt specifically ban that one. If nothing else, I believe this would fall under the jurisdiction of a "miscellaneous matter".

You can still have great runs without etq's. I do it every week. nod When I first realized I couldn't use etq's, I thought it would be the end of my targeting (and I had just started laugh out loud). But you find other ways to make the deals work for you.

Don't get me wrong, I envy the people that can use etq's. I wish my store had the mindset "If it scans, we'll take it", but it doesn't and I've learned how to work around it. Yeah, it's a little tougher sometimes, but you get used to it, and soon enough you'll realize you can still get soooo many great deals without them. Wink
That's what I'm thinkin. I didn't know about them before I started targeting. Now I have the "skills" to make good deals happen without them and not be looking over my shoulder all the time. My basement is nicely stocked so it's easier for me to take this stance now than a few months ago when I started.

Anyone need this BRU booklet I just got with coupons in it? PM me if interested. 15% off a baby item, yada yada same stuff different mailing.

I'm wishing I didn't cut open some of the pampers packages for coupons and codes, makes them harder to store. I may have to get some rubbermaid. I told DH not to open any more and I'm not either. It's easier this way and I did already redeem codes for a LEGO GC so I'm happy. We know DS will love Legos when he's older. Well at least we hope he does, he really likes his megablocks now. I think they're a pain though, I step on them all the time.

Stormy-forgot to tell you there was an aquadoodle Thomas stamp and sir tophamm hatt roller for 2.50 at KM. I had one but abandoned it. I'll go back when I get my hot wheels peelies in. I found a few sunsilk q's today too while I was digging around to fill your envie with KM q's so I won't have to pay much for it!

Sadly we moved away from one of the only grocery stores in the state doubles, Kroger. None of those in the metro DC area. I'm drooling over some of the great deals that some of you can get from stores that double or triple coupons.
Also, check out Harris Teeter. They double up to $.99 and have triples about every 3 months. You can get some great deals with the overages.

Thanks, I'll have to check them out. I don't see any listed in the Fredericksburg area. Dangit, all the good stuff is either in DC or Richmond. I feel like I'm in the boonies laugh out loud

I did a GIS and found a state by state list of most grocery stores that double coupons. Never thought to look before. So Wegmans and some Shoppers locations double coupons?

Just in case anyone else needs the info

Thanks for replying, I was the one who had asked!

Then there are people like me, who have been reading and doing runs for a good while. I haven't posted before for several reasons--
1) everytime i had something to contribute, someone would beat me to it.
2) i saw the response that was given to other "new" posters and didn't want to go there.
3) sometimes it would be days to weeks between Target runs-so didn't want to post outdated information.
the reason I started to post is because I PM'd someone a question and was never given a response. I figured it was because people thought i was a "lurker" or "newby".

All I am saying is give the new people a little slack. Remember everyone was new at one time or another. And lastly, just because you are new does not mean that you don't have good information or a contrubution to make.

Lastly, thank you to everyone for the great deals and tips. I have saved my family and friends alot of money. I couldn't have done it without the old and "new" members. THANKS!!!!worship
Hey, I think we all realize that some with few posts are not really 'newbies' to the whole couponing game, you can often tell by the posts they do make. I know once I was PM'd about something by someone who had no posts, and I was hesitant to reply. Not sure if it was you, because I did reply, but I also pointed out to the person that without any posts, their reasons for PM'ing would be questioned by folks.

Sometimes I don't post as much in the main thread because I feel like what I've seen that's new isn't of interest to enough folks.

Ok - Listen up!!

I was out feeding my flowers this morning and found the oldest coupon I have ever seen!! The expiration date was 12/31/2000. Yes, my Miracle Gro was THAT old!!! BUT, it still works (so I think :-)

Anyhoo - after laughing at myself for being excited that I found a coupon inside a box of Miracle Gro that had to be old as dirt, I had an idea. bulb

What if we had a contest to see who could come up with the oldest coupon???

Here's how it works - [already checked with the Mods so we're good to go - have fun with it!]:

Whoever posts the oldest coupon, that is, the coupon with the oldest expiration date, wins a Target gift card - sponsored by me. I'll even take my own coupon out of the running Smilie

RULES:
- All coupons must be posted to this chit-chat site by next Saturday, 7/12. [you might want to pm me to let me know you posted].
- All posted coupons MUST have their barcode altered in some way.
- If you are unable to scan and upload please mail your entry to me so that I receive it by next Saturday, 7/12. PM me if you need my address.
- I am not responsible for lost or late entries.
- I will compile all entries on Sunday and the winner will be announced on Monday, 7/14, here in this thread.
- The coupon with the oldest expiration date wins a $5 Target Gift Card that will be mailed on Monday, 7/14.
- In the unlikely event that we have multiple "oldest expiration dates", a winner will be randomly drawn from those entries. I will have Pretzels draw the winner from a hat.

Ok - now go search your garages and everywhere else and find those old coupons!!!

woot Have fun!! woot
What a fun deal! I wonder if I have some of those random coupons my mom used to have? I once had a small bag of about 8 OLD coupons.

I was irritated today when DH opened a new Fusion razor and out popped a coupon that expired 6/30. He says, 'guess you need to open them all'. Well heck, if the coupons all have that same date, no, it's a little late now! laugh out loud

I am working today too.. hospital doesnt close. Thankfully I was though.. FIL was brought in via ambulance and is now in ICU. My wonderful co-workers though kept telling me to go check on him all day... Right now, his ICU bed is about 15ft from my desk so at least I can easily check on him all the time
Wow, hope he'll be ok. At least he has you there to look after him, that is one blessing for both of you. hug

Quick note.. we were called back to the hospital at 10:45pm. Spoke to RN about my FIL as my 2 older kids really need the opportunity to say goodbye. She said if you dont mind driving at midnight, I would go get them. So I am home to grab my kids to say goodbye. If any of you are nurses, the thing that prompted all this is his ABG was 47! ANd he is DNI/DNR. He has always clear as day refused an IV for meds. I will update when possible

Ok, I live in the city, it is 12:45 am here, and these idiots behind us are still setting off fireworks. They've been at it since 9:00! EEK!

These are the same idiots that were shooting off aerials, but not shooting them up in the air! They were shooting them sideways, so the would shoot straight out, instead of up!! And these weren't little bottle rockets, these were ones that exploded 3 times!!! All the while, their kids are running around the same area!!! Head Bang Head Bang

I'm a RN - emergency room/nights. I'm very sorry that your family is going through this. You will be in my thoughts.
