I've been trying to piece together what happened here...
Thank you so much for your input. My kids have never seen the snow..... So I guess I better get started buying a little here and a little there. I don't want to give my DH a heart attack, when he sees my purchases!!!!
So true, my girls and hubby are the reason I am ultimately at work, to be able to provide them with the lifestyle they love
I was a Medical Assitant in Radiation Oncology. I had the most wonderful co workers and a boss that was wonderful too. Although there is sadness and I lost a lot of patients, there were the few that made it.
I had a patient that was wonderful, he and his wife had an amazing love for each other. He coded one day while getting chemo and was in a coma and out in ICU and was expected to pass. This was a week before Christmas. I went up to the hospital on Christmas eve to drop off cookies to his wife and family and well say my goodbyes. I cam back to work teh day after Christmas, and there was a note taped to the door of our dept telling me to go up to Icu Mrs M**** needed me. I go up to the room expecting the worst and there he is Mr M**** sitting up in bed and calls me over and says Merry Christmas Heather, I loved the cookies. I cried like a baby, it was the best Christmas present ever. He did pass a few months after that with his wife by his side. they got him a large hospital bed in the Icu and she climbed in there with him, it was a very sad moment but also very sweet.
Like the guy that had throat cancer, and was having trouble w eating, and I jkept pushing him to try new things. He was very angry at the time, and was very stubborn. He eventually got done his treatment and was eating. On his last day he brought me flowers. Every year on the aniversary he sent me flowers at work.That is just one example.
I have many cards and letters from patients and families saying how I touched their lives when in fact it was the other way around.
So yes I did have a job I loved and I still miss it, but I havea very important job now and wouldnt trade it for the world.

This winter, (or next summer) our DS is going to Disneyworld, thanks to the incredible Make A Wish foundationQUOTE]*snip*
We went to Disneyworld back in 2001 through the Make A Wish foundation, it was great. We got buttons with Make a wish on them and we got to go to the front of the line every ride and when the characters saw us they made it a point to come right up to us and hug our daughter and sign autgraphs and take pictures. At one point Mickey Mouse saw us and was going on break and turned around and came to my daughter and gave her a big hug, took pictures, autographs and all in the mean time other people were trying to get close to Mickey and the security person would not let them, He said Mickey will be down by the tower at 2:00 pm and made everyone leave. Needless to say my daughter felt special the whole day. It was so awesome. They also have this village that we stayed at and all the food was free and rides and the bunny came and tucked all the kids in at night. Everyone has their own little cottage they stay in. It is BEAUTIFUL 2 bdrm, 2 bath, jucuzzi tub and there was a swimming pool and just all kinds of stuff there. They also had the characters come and eat breakfast in the restaurant there with all the Make a wish kids. You can pm me if you are interested about more
