This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.
All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Also no glade cats printed for me
Also no glade cats printed for me
It started with "I'm sorry, I don't think we can take this x/xx q". I said "no, it's just those 2 pictured that you can't take". "Well, I'm just gonna check anyway" I knew it was gonna be all down hill from there. Hadn't been there for 2 weeks and I guess it'll be another 2 weeks or more before I go back.
Time to spread my wings and hit a farther away T and K this weekend.
She calls it her "fat tax". I busted up right in the pedicure chair.
Everyone would tell me how strong willed she is and not to break her spirit. Being strong willed is a good thing, blah, blah, blah. Well lemme tell ya.....it's not such a good thing right now. We are 4 weeks into Pre K and we've already gotten 3 "notes to parent" sent home.
sometimes ds does the exact same crap, and he is 6. the other day i went into kohls and we didn't take 5 steps through the door before he decided to pull a random tantrum. throwing himself on the floor, screaming, kicking.. etc. with nothing to instigate it.
i decided there was no way i was going to continue on so we just went straight back out the door. (and went back later that evening and he was MUCH better behaved)
but for sure i thought i would just die from all the looks and stares we got like "hmm.. she must abuse her kid for him to be screaming like that" or "gee she's a horrible parent!" or other such crap.
so yeah, with ds its hit and miss. most often i leave him home with dh nowadays because his behavior right now is so unpredictable. he's at the age where he is testing his limits of defiance. and worse, he KNOWS i can't do anything about it in public - he does not act like that at home (thank god). it just does not work well for me when i'm trying to put deals together in the store, much less survive checkout while attempting to keep him under control and from climbing out of the cart and running around the entire store.
but anyway i know exactly how you feel - somewhat victimized by your own kid while other customers give you the looks of death. thankfully these stages are not supposed to last forever. its just trying to survive the worst times that sometimes gets the best of us.

I used to hand them over in a stack, but I kept finding that Qs would be missed, the order would go all wrong, because the cashier would spread them out in front of him, etc. So I started handing them over one by one, and that has worked wonders. Haven't missed a Q, order is always right. Only a couple times have they asked me to hand over the stack, but I just politely tell them I've had too many problems with missing coupons and I prefer to hand them over one by one. That way, if you can tell they're super-picky (once scanning gets underway), you can "hide" some of the coupons, iykwim.
Oh and i found a tq for ore ida hash browns today...and now i cant find the freakin mfq i had to go with it!!!

I feel ya with the note to parent. My DS was that way when he was young. I used to have 'backpack anxiety'. I was always afraid to open it for fear of another note from the teacher!
happy shopping folks
see you all on Monday afternoon when i make it to the office....drs appt about my severe arm pain... I
Speaking of funny words for things.....
Do any of you have a gym membership that you pay for every month and don't use??? We do! I was talking to my friend the other day about it and she has a phrase for it - because she has the same problem.
