Depends on what you listen to, the subs in question, and more importantly where you listen to it, and how many different people are listening.
A small enclosed room with one listening position is probably better off with 1 sub.
A big open room with multiple positions is probably better off with 2 (or more) subs.
In the case of these particular subs, the 15 goes a fair bit deeper than the 12- so if your listening space is small enough to actually get pressurized by a single 15 the low notes the 12 won't give you will be very nice... in a huge open room one 15 isn't gonna do that anyway so might as well even out the room with 2 smaller subs.
All that said- at full price the 15 isn't as good as what you can get from the ID sub companies.... but at $399 it's a great buy- nearly as good as the 800-1000 buck subs from people like Hsu and PSA, for a lot less than those ever go on sale for.... and I'd take two of em over one of those all day every day no matter the situation.
A 15" will theoretically will have a harder punch than a 12", even multiple 12"s. The reason to have more then 1 sub is to fill the room more, typically an issue for larger rooms. Just adding a 2nd 12" isn't going to hit harder than a single 15"'. There is a bit more to it than that, such as the actual design of the sub, but that's the basic idea.
You also want to be careful about placement of dual subs; you can cancel out the sound waves from each other.
The R115 will offer more extension than two R-112's......or ten R-112's. You will get an increase of up to 6dB of output with two of the same sub as opposed to one. Two subs do help smooth out the frequency response within the room, when properly placed. This is very beneficial if you have multiple seating spots.
They do allow shipping at $899 but when I apply the code and check out that's when the note pop up says that the code is only valid in store.
You tried today's promo code? Ad is for 1/8, so deal hasn't started yet.

That and the placement of furniture and the room acoustic. All 3 of my bedrooms in my house are roughly 12x12x9 however due to furniture and the fact the room are sized different. One room has lots of nulls that I can't get an even bass from two sub so I have to use 4, another room works fine with two subwoofers while the last bedroom can make do with 1. However if I did not want even bass response, I could get away with 1-2 in each room.
