If I were Comcast I wouldn't worry about it too much. By the end (or likely sooner) of Trump's Reich his company will be the most hated in America.

I am not so sure about that. People are great at rationalizing things. Besides, I am sure Trump brand of waterproof bed sheets will be of good quality since it will be made in the USA. It will come with a travel case so you can use it in hotel rooms.

So...my Comcast 150mbps Internet service jumped from $48 a month to $89 a month after 2 years.

This month Internet bill is $89 a month Mad F u Comcast.
I spent over an hour chatting with shitcast. They gave me a run around. Saying no promotion for my Internet service. Finally I told them I want to cancel my Internet.
They told me to let them check for promotion again. What a Liar plucker.
This is the deal they can offer me:

There are no deals. It's a monopoly. Threaten to leave, get their price, take it and run.

Though I have tried to negotiate on their "best price", sometimes successfully, sometimes not. They're getting smarter.

yeah, unless there is actual competition in your market (haha!), customers don't have a lot of leverage. get their best price through bundling or a year contract and call in next year to go through the whole thing again.

side note: other than being able to brag about it, what's really the point of having 150Mbps+ internet? the most one is going to get out of most streaming services is 1080p with 2-channel audio and a standard bitrate, which can be done with <20Mbps. i mean, there are valid reasons for needing it (UHD video, many users, requirement for fast file transfers, etc.), but i'm probably going to downgrade from my 200Mbps plan (they auto-upgraded me) to something lower so i can save a few bucks. most of my traffic goes over a VPN anyway, so it doesn't even get close to maximizing the available speed. my bill jumped $25/m after a year, and while i got it down a bit, it's still too much.

Seems like a decent deal. I think I'm paying about $50-$55 for 100mpbs internet (no tv/phone/etc.)

yeah, i'd jump on $60/m + taxes for 100Mbps internet as long as you can stay under whatever cap they might have in place.

I despise Comcast. You're locked into their bullshit contract(s) for however long but even though you're locked in you're also at their mercy when they decide to stea....errrrr "move" channels to a higher tier.

Right now we're locked in for 2 years @ $100 a month(before taxes and fees) for Digital Preferred(well la dee farkin' da I'm "preferred") plus 100 Mbps internet and they've already sent us a letter stating that they 'gave us a channel we're not supposed to get with our package'. So the bullshit has started already and it hasn't even been a full month .

I kinda wonder how many bullshit 'tiers' they have so I know exactly how much of a chance I have of losing channels we just got back with this new bundle after 5-6 or more years without. I know one thing, they could take all the shitty sports channels we're stuck with in this bundle and shove them up their ass. I never watch that shit but we're stuck with it for 2 years now.
