I called Wells Fargo to confirm the deal. My wife was envious when I got a fat check from the previous deal.
I showed my sympathy by calling to confirm the deal is still around. They renewaled it.

The next day I set up the online account.
2 or 3 days later the $250 showed up. I still have not stepped foot into their bank.
My second and third ones (for the spouse and kid) were a tad bit trickier. The questions are easy for your spouse and child so no issue there, but I used their real phone numbers, so I opted to go to the ATM to activate them versus getting them to call in. This may not be an issue for anyone else but something to note if you have a kid away at school.
I've got mixed emotions at this point. I'm feeling kinda guilty AND I like their online interface so the money is still sitting in all three accounts. I'll probably go and just withdraw from ATM for the spouse and kid, but I'd imagine you could just go to walmart and buy a gift card from your favorite retailer. If there is anything left in their accounts (assuming that the atm only dispenses in increments of $10), I will add the overage to amazon again.
Many others in the previous thread stated that closing the account via secure checking was easy, painless and quick. All of this to say, please do not let the idea of driving 100 miles to go to the bank deter you from doing this. Many others have also reported that they have never had to go into the bank to complete this deal. I see no reason why you can't be one of them.

Ya I did the amazon gc micro transaction thing and I've been following the original regions thread but it seems like no one got anything and it's almost time for the fees to start hitting if you didn't setup direct deposit or throw 1500 into.
