The locking mechanism of these bowls is iffy. It is spring-loaded, and if the spring is dislodged, they are unusable. We returned ours to Costco as the bowl costs $50+
We use ours for making dough, grating or slicing veggies, mixing oatmeal pancakes. It gets used more than our blender or hand mixer.
This reminded me that I think my ex-girlfriend with Borderline Personality Disorder still has my food processor. $66 seems like a great deal compared to contacting her to retrieve my old one...

All the people who got this thread confused with the thread for the refurb and commented here screwed me up. I purchased this one accidentally instead of the refurb one that I wanted. Guess I should have paid less attention to the comments

i'm sure it can shred potatoes, but it's no dicer. not sure if there's a dicer attachment for it. that alone was a dealbreaker for me on their 14 cup unit. ended up with a breville unit that came with a dicer kit. it's game changer.
I have this and it is a beast weighs 12 pounds, we use ours now and then but i am big on having the right tool you can use it to thin slice potatoes or anything else.
There's a reason this is so cheap. It's very cheaply made. The mating surface between the bowl and the teeth is plastic, and the mechanism that attaches the bowl is prone to breaking.
Also, the motor is very light and not nearly the quality of the good Cuisinart models.
If you're going to use a food processor regularly, wait for a deal on a DLC-8SBCYP1 or better yet, a DFP-14BCNY.
If you insist on having one soon, get a Ninja NJ11GR until you can get a proper Cuisinart.
The classic Cuisinart models are still the gold standard for food processors (outside of maybe Breville). I've had my 11 cup for 10 years and it's an absolute workhorse. The Kitchenaid stand mixer of the food processor worls.
I just got this from target for $60. 500w 12 cup. Seems pretty comparable. And easy to return with target. I've only used it once to shred a potato but it destroyed it in five seconds.

These are not comparable. This is a low quality product that likely will not last a long time. Quite frankly, I don't think the Cuisinart in this thread is as good as their classic model.

So comparable low quality? 💩 People should stop expecting the decades long lifespans. They don't exist anymore. Save your money.

The Cuisinart Classic Food processor (with "on" and "pulse") is still made extremely well and lasts a long time. Same for a Kitchenaid stand mixer. People should spend a little more and not cheap out. It's worth the price.
bought this one and returned the $120 Costco clearance Cuisinart. Both have solid cast bases and similar bowl lock feature. My previous Cuisinart latest 16yrs before the bowl cracked and wouldn't trigger the safety lock. The only downside is that neither this or the Costco unit came with a case for all the shredding/slicing plates and blades.
