Before DH and I got married, he promised that he would only watch three types of sports per year. He chose F1 (of course), football and cycling (although he only watches the Tour de France) and it worked for a while. Then he got into watching poker, specificaly the World Series of Poker championship in Las Vegas. When I asked him which other sport he was going to give up, he tried to convince me that the Tour de France wasn't a sport, it was a show about French tourism. laugh out loud
since when is poker a sport?
I'd rather watch golf than poker Sleepy2 so boring.

watch any of the first stage of the TDF today? two massive crashes today, I'm sure people are dancing because Contador's tour is nearly ruined on the first day laugh out loud

and on that note, i'm headed to bed, don't want to sleep in too late so I can watch Wimbledon in the morning
g'night Zoe and AMT Bye

Yeah, I'd rather watch paint dry than watch other people play poker. Yawn

DH watched the tour and told me about the crashes. I'm glad that I dropped Contrador from my fantasy team for the sweepstakes. I put him in there to start with then dropped him on a hunch.

Just heard on the radio that all of Texas has been declared a disaster area due to the drought and all the wildfires.

Night ML. Night AMT. Bye

We're talking about taking a drive up to Mt. Rainier and then going to the fireworks in Bellevue. Chances are good we'll wake up in the morning too late to make the trip and too lazy to go to Bellevue. laugh out loud

Rofl2 you live quite the life, ZM nod

I did go see transformers 3 today. it was better than the second one, still not as good as the first, and they upped the cheeseball factor on some of the jokes. the shots at the Milwaukee art museum are gorgeous, though, that is such a pretty building nod

Night ML. We were downstairs watching Falling Skies. It's kept my interest so far. Not sure I'm a fan yet. I haven't seen any of the transformer movies. Just never got around to watching them. My to do list seems to grow faster than my done list does. Night AMT. Bye

Ninja went out to see the bats, took my good camera along this time to take pictures Whee spent about two hours out. it's a little weird out there in Austin, with no fireworks and no events, it was pretty much a ghost town in downtown at 7pm, normally it's packed Hide short video from the bats:

I'll post pictures once I process and sort out the good ones Whee

Just got home from the fireworks in downtown Bellevue. They estimated there were about 65,000 people there and that's not counting all the people watching from the highrise office buildings. I think it's the largest gathering (other than Seattle's) in the greater Seattle area. There's still a lot of fireworks going off in our neighborhood. Hopefully they'll quiet down before we go to bed.

We had a nice, leisurely dinner at Maggiano's before going to the park and the place was almost empty. Most people took a picnic to the park or bought food from the vendors that were there.

DH is taking tomorrow off too. We didn't make it to Rainier but our front yard looks a lot better, it needed some TLC. Did you hear/see any fireworks in Austin? Yeah there was a ban but there's always some idiot who thinks the bans don't apply to him.

I heard some small stuff, didn't see anything. it was pretty quiet for the most part. there were about 10 people on the terrace when I got back, and one of them asked me about a laser show. IIRC, the laser show was Cedar Park's response to the fireworks ban laugh out loud, so I have no idea what they expected to see from our terrace in downtown Austin Ohmy

I just bought a ticket on stubhub for the Davis Cup, bought a ticket for the Saturday doubles match, should be pretty darn good seats, I hope. after fees and everything, it was ~$110. still cheaper than face value, the three day series is on sale for $420, or $140/day. and I like doubles tennis, unlike many people laugh out loud at the very least I should see the Bryan Brothers play, fresh off their Wimbledon title.

Faint wow, didn't really look at it, but the cheapest tickets anywhere on stubhub for Friday are $90+... I assume that's the day Roddick will play singles, seats near mine for Saturday, but on Friday, are going for $400+ Bigeye I definitely don't like Roddick that much, even if he is the hometown kid. shake head

I suppose that makes the $140/session look pretty reasonable had I been in a position to buy all three days, but I'm not, so I didn't, so I'm not gonna worry about it shake head
