Unfortunately, looks like you talked to the wrong people. Porting department can't set up the free account. You need to call the number at the top of the wiki for this deal (866-782-8777) and hope they can straighten everything out.

Did you ever even mention the free BYOD account to him?

The problem is not anyone has reported that the Verizon prepaid works for any other carrier if activated after July 18. Before that it was fully unlocked.

I had ordered Verizon iPhone se for porting my no to sprint from t mobile, before opening iPhone se I confirmed with sprint chat representative that iPhone is locked to Verizon hence I returned phone back to Best Buy.

Can anyone suggest what is cheapest phone option that I can buy now?

Not sure if someone already mentioned about it in this long thread. But I was not able to find it using search.

Talked on line, so far I'm still eligible. The online rep told to contact them to activate the coming sim. Also, there's no tablet under my account. Nice

Search for Verizon iPhone 5C on eBay, around 60$ but it is old and not getting iOS 11. Get Moto E4 for 99$ if you have prime, it shows ads on screen but disxounted from 130$

Thinking about getting my younger siblings on this deal to save some money; my budget isn't very high so I'm looking at the iPhone 5C or 5S. My question, it says Verizon only - does anyone know if that's firm? What about the unlocked or Sprint equivalent? Secondly, if it's really Verizon only, can I pop the sim in and be ready to go or do I need to have it unlocked?Sorry if this has been asked already but there are so many pages to check. Thanks in advance.

That's good to hear. Not sure that online chat reps can properly set up the free BYOD account either, though. Hopefully, once you get the SIMs you'll be able to get the account set up properly.

Thanks to all mentioning the referral. I neglected to do that when opening line yesterday, but signed up for referral program tonight, logged out and had the new account select "my friend referred me" at https://refer.sprint.com/public/home.pg and now the referral is in que on my account Smilie

I successfully got $50 referral credit. Signed up for sprint account with referral link right before there changed their T&Cs for not including free plan. I just got an email that my $50 visa card will be sent to my billing address.
