Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Thanks for providing insight into Sprint draconian device policy. Man, my head is spinning now.
If you need a temporary placeholder, you can get a DuraXT on Ebay for $12 and activate that. (unless they end this offer suddenly which unfortunately could happen at any time).

I did. It did not show as eligible on the web page but the rep. activated it on this offer no problem.

So how free is this plan? It looks like there are still taxes and fees each month?

If I am not using this as my main phone, any pros of this vs a truly free freedompop plan?

service with sprint in CA (socal and norcal) is terrible compared to at&t but it gets the job done in major cities and i guess it makes me spend less time on my phone; ill switch back to atat if they slash their prices
What about the service in los angeles, hollywood, beverly hills, and west hollywood.

Received my sim for my iPhone 6 Plus (T-Mobile version) and was able to call in and setup my account all within 30 mins. Wifi Calling is working fine and I'm actually getting better download speeds than my AT&T Prepaid plan that I had. Can't believe that this worked!!! FYI I'm in the West Covina, CA area. Will be in the Echo Park and Chinatown in LA throughout the weekend. Hopefully Sprint's service holds up. Thank you OP and all the other people who participated in this forum. All that reading made me super prepared to setup my account and made the whole process super easy.

I called the (866)782-8777 number and spoke to a rep from the Philippines. Had my account # and pin from my AT&T Prepaid plan. Also had my SSN#, CC info, and billing info. I was approved for up to 5 lines, so according to the rep as long as this promo is still going on I can add up to 4 more lines for free under this plan. I'll have to test the service before I convince my wife and mother-in-law to change. I'm hoping that my T-Mobile iPhone 6 Plus will be OK on the Sprint network but only time will tell. I'm also going to really monitor my bill to make sure I'm not charged for anything other than taxes, fees, and surcharges. According to the rep it should only come out to $7 at most.

Good luck to anyone else trying to get on this plan!

P.S.
According to the rep this plan will be good until the end of September. Hopefully that's true but do remember that according to Sprint's site they can cancel or change this promo at any time so do jump on this plan ASAP.

P.S.S.
Next on my list is trying to get that Sprint iPhone SE phone for $72 without messing up this free BYOD plan.
Just wondering where do you find that deal

Thanks syscom. I went to the store - the guy set up my account, gave me the number and had me select 6 digit pin.

Called the 800 and then everything went smooth - the agent took my credit card to charge $10.69 which includes expedited shipping and i believe the SIMS were free!

I checked Sprint map in my region, it shows dark green excellent coverage. will let you know. and anyway freeing up $125 a month with free service, if someone can't hear me on the other line too bad, get a Sprint too so I can't hear you either
So I can set up the acocat in the store and have them not add any plan, and then just call the 1800 number to have them get me the sims and they already put me on the plan. or i need to have the sim cards before.

Only reason I haven't ported my main TMobile numbers is because they gave me unlimited data(no tethering or HD reductions) till 2019. I have 10 lines with them for $270/month. I'm only gonna be alive once, so saving money won't mean anything to me when I'm dead. What I don't understand is why some YouTube videos still show buffering if this is supposed to be a 30 mb/sec connection. I guess this is just the way the internet works.
Just interested what plan are you on

Sprint's network is terrible depending on the location, but for most people it has very slow data speeds.
Some people in the WIKI get speeds of over 20Mbs and some over 50Mbps but most get less than 10Mbps and usually less than 5Mbps.
That's the weakest point of Sprint, very low data speeds in most of the US.
So far they're serviceable speeds but if they drop any lower.........it's not worth the $60/mo/line fee and may not even worth it for free for most people.
Maybe that's why Sprint is giving these free lines.... most people will not pay for such low data speeds service.

The problem now is the more subscribers Sprint puts on its system, the higher the congestion and the lower the data speeds.
I will not expect this situation to change in the future since Sprint does not have the money to improve its data network infrastructure since it's losing billions of $$$$$ and losing the knowledgeable personnel to fix it.

See my other post here on this subject:

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=104067020&postcount=9340

Sprint's financial situation is not at all promising, and actually it's very bleak:

https://seekingalpha.com/article/...ntain-debt [seekingalpha.com]

By the time this free BYOD program ends on 9/30/2018, Sprint may no longer be Sprint as we know it today.
What do you think will occur
