I work for corporate. You can also validate this if you call sprint telesale number in wiki. Memo is already released internally.

The goal is the byod free plan was to juice up subscriber counts for the T-Mobile merger discussion and negotiations which is close to completion.
If you work there then can you tell if we will be eligible to upgrade tonight after 12AM or not?
As it was supposed to be upgrade eligible from 1-OCT. right

Love how tons of people are waiting on the possible merger and acting like it's gonna happen next week lol. At this point the merger is still a rumor, they tried once before and failed! Even assuming the merger is real and they are working on it right now it would be awhile before it was even approved if at all! Even if it was approved and went through it would be awhile after that before people would see any benefits from it. If the merger happened yes it would be great for sprint they could for sure use the help, but it's not going to happen anytime soon if it even happens at all. People switching hoping on the merger and possible benefits will be waiting awhile and possibly disappointed as well. The good part of this deal is saving some money for a few months to a year while maybe still having ok service depending on your area, not the possible merger and possible benefits if it even happened.
It will be announced in late October ...all news say that and will take some months to get approval from govt agencies

My mom's account is under my sister's in TMO, so I just set up my account successfully porting from Freedom pop to the BYOD plan, So can I bring my mom's over to my account? Or will that be a porting issue since the number is under my sister's?
Ported 2 numbers on separate days -- each time they asked if the number I was porting was under my name (it was)

Call the activation line and ask what info they need if you want to port a family member's number to your Sprint account

I hope they don't merge. If they do, they'll figure out a way to beat you up. That's what happened when all the airlines merged and the government allowed it.

Re 2, I personally think it may be ok PROVIDED you do it tomorrow Saturday. After that will be too late.

Stores have been ok to set up (empty) ACCOUNTS only, but not plans, provided there is nothing at all on the account. But do NOT set up the plan at a store. You must actually initiate an actual phone and number on this BYOD plan Saturday on line or via telesales. Double check when doing so that it is free.
Thanks.. I checked with sprint they too said I am good for byod since I haven't added any new line or devices to my account so far.

I can't get the sprint.com/activatenow link to recognize my information when I ordered. Is this how you all activated, or do you call?

I ordered this yesterday with a SIM that I still had and a number ported in from Google Voice. Under My Sprint, it says that I have the "Unlimited - Bring your Phone" plan, and under Details, it reads "Unlimited Talk, Text and Data with 10GB of Mobile Hotspot. Requires AutoPay and eBill. $5/line/mo discount with AutoPay. Savings until 9/30/18; then $60/mo. for line 1, $40/mo. for line 2 and $30/mo./line for lines 3-5 with AutoPay."

Am I good and got the right plan/promo?

Like I said it's a rumor at this point, IF it does happen and is approved which would not be overnight, it will take at least a few months before any benefits would be seen. That's if it even happens.

I'm planing to port my T-Mobile ($3 for 3 months ) now which I use only for whatsapp.

Once everything is set , I want to replace that number with my regular T-mobile number . Is it possible ? if so how, I don't want to open another line at that time ...

Anyone have any experience with free plans of the past? Were you able to port in lines if you had one already setup after the promo ended (ie. tomorrow)?
