Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I believe it. No reason the chat rep would state that otherwise. Reps have been wrong about saying the deal will be canceled, but they haven't been wrong when they say it's been extended -- yet.

Probably not worth porting out and back in for those of us with 1/31/2019 expiration dates, but if at the end of April they extend it through June 30, 2019 that could be enticing Wink

I believe she will.

It is not just Sprint. It is the Equifax identity service they use. The USPS uses the same service and just turned me down for an account because I gave the right answers instead of the wrong ones they were expecting on the basis of their error-filled database. Plus this government agency nonetheless tells me there is no way to correct the database. I had problems with Sprint too but happened to be able to work around them because I figured out the wrong answers they were looking for.
Just wanted to follow-up publicly on my issue: If you recall, I could not complete identity verification with the Credit Department for some unknown reason. According to the Sprint rep, no identity verification questions were provided to task me, so the process could not continue.

After reaching out to Marci and working with her associate from Sprint, I was finally able to complete the three-question identity verification step with the Credit Department. However, the final decision was "We are not able to extend credit at this time." So it did not work out, but Marci and everyone else from Sprint who I worked with to resolve the issue was kind and professional. I've repped you for your helpful tip!

From the letter that Sprint sent, it appears that they think I have a written-off Sprint Account. I have never been a Sprint customer in my life (17 years with AT&T only, and 1 year with Mint Sim), I can certainly understand why they would not want to do business with someone who they think stiffed them.

It was worth a try. I did get the free 3-month service from Republic Wireless, so I am willing to try again with Sprint if the offer is still available in a few months.

Thanks for the update.
However, I would not leave it there since the decision is demonstrably wrong.
I would strongly suggest getting back in touch with Marci.

There is always the possibility that the credit department is seriously confused (or, worse yet, covering up internally). Or that someone used your SSN. In either case, you should have some remedy.

So I thought today was the day we'd find out officially if it had been extended or not, but all I'm seeing are rumors. Will we know officially tomorrow? Since this is the day it was to either expire or be extended, I'm surprised there is so little action on this thread today.

Not officially. As I said before, there never is an official advance announcement. They simply update their web page overnight.

There is no incentive whatsoever for them to give advance official notice. They like people to order NOW to make the deadline, whether it be real or imagined.

In previous months we had some degree of consensus unofficially by the last day but that is lacking this month.

To me it would make more sense to officially announce the expiration a couple weeks in advance so everyone who'd been putting it off would sign on. However, since they kept extending it, that wouldn't apply. So will we know tomorrow? Is the only way to know for sure to call in tomorrow and either be turned away or be accepted?

Well, your line of reasoning may (eventually) prove correct two weeks before they cut off new sign-ups. That will only be known in retrospect at/after that time.

Meanwhile, we will know officially tomorrow if it is extended this time, because they will either be taking new orders or they will not. Plus the web page will either be still up (and changed) or not.

Sorry, I'm late to the game, but could someone please help me? Thank you in advance! Will rep for any helpful answers!

I'm looking to open 2 separate accounts with Sprint. The first one will be on an iPhone 6, the 2nd on any Sprint branded prepaid phone I can get to work.

I have a wide variety of Sprint SIMs from the Apple Store, and 2 H2O SIMs, unactivated.

More details on their history:

1.) iPhone 6 Plus
Previously on AT&T postpaid
Now on Virgin Mobile Inner Circle
Says, "Ineligible" on Sprint's site
From what I read, I can port the VM number to H2O, then back out to Sprint?

2.) Several Sprint / Boost prepaid branded phones (Moto E2, LG Tribute 2, Kyocera Kona)
1 Verizon Moto E2

a.) Verizon Moto E2 has never been activated
Says, "Ineligible" on Sprint's site

b.) Sprint / Boost prepaid branded phones
Previously on RingPlus
Some then went to Ting and/or Tello

Kyocera is now on Tello
Says, "Ineligible" on Sprint's site

All others say, "Sorry, but our records show you still owe Sprint for this device." (FED check?)

From what I read, I would need to get the flag flipped by LiterallyUnlimited?

Sprint prepaid division (SPP, Boost, Virgin) origin phones cannot be acivated at all (with rare exceptions) regardless of whether they have been accepted on mvno's as "clearing Fed".

Other phones that have ever been on a Sprint mvno can be activated by first pushing them back to postpaid (flipping the ownership flag).

"Sorry, but our records show you still owe Sprint for this device."
Yes, this the message you get on some of these cases.

The Verizon E2 is likely locked to Verizon.

These checks go by IMEI, but you do have to supply some non-Sprint network phone number as well.

Keep in mind that it's now around 10am Manila time, February 1st, where this Sprint BYOD group is located and their shift serving the January 31st USA day ends in about 2 hours, so it's very likely that they'll know today if this program has been extended when they check in for work later today/tomorrow their time.
The posters saying here a few hours ago that they were told by the Manila Sprint reps that program has been extended appear to be correct.
It certainly looks as if the BYOD 1 year free offer will be extended.

It is definitely a HARD pull, but I wouldn't worry much about it since this type of pull only takes a couple of points off a credit score, about 2-3 points. It does not take off 10 points or more as some people fear.
