Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Airave goes via your broadband so it probably depends mainly on that rather than on Sprint.

It will always show 5 bars but that only refers to the connection from the phone as far as the Airave's connection to your broadband. The overall connection may indeed be worse .

I only get B25 here, no B26 or B41, and the MB didn't get me any faster speed than the naked phone placed in the same spot in the window.
At least it should be more convenient that having to leave your phone in the window.
Your local tower may be overloaded and simply limiting everybody.
Sprint wil be adding Band 41 to almost all towers in the country this year, and also band 26 I believe subject to international agreement issues in some border areas.

Thanks. I am getting a lot of helpful info on this from people here.
I am going to work hard on Sprint to close it out without waiting for the original cycle to turn, but worst case I can live with the cycle as is and still be within the current likely end date to take up the promo.
Trying to figure out porting out/ back in 45 days later. I'm a little worried they will pull the plug on new sign-ups. Or refuse to allow me back in with same SS and same numbers

I am not too worried. Everything is fuzzy anyway at Sprint and you will get different answers from different people.
I suspect they will even let me back well before 45 days by trying multiple times.
They let some people back on right away already and I figure it was just random chance.

As far as I can see the policy is only enforced manually by the accounting person who is asked to remove the SSN from the old account so that the sales rep. can open a new account withput getting a computer error (I am guessing the message would be would be "SSN already in use").

Sometimes they just let it go. Or they ask for an explanation - you can make one up. I am going to say : "Oh I wanted to evaluate another carrier for a few weeks but they were not as good so I am coming back to Sprint." The sales rep. will be on your side which counts for a lot.

I do not think it is on their radar. This issue is not new with this offer. There have been other offers in the past that were for new customers only.

I figured the internet connection could be related, but we'll see. The technician reconfigured my Airave. He told me to power cycle my phone and he'd call me back in 20 minutes to see if I was able to use data while on a phone call (I haven't been able to so far), but he hasn't called back yet and I haven't had any calls so far with which to test it.

I wasn't aware that it will always show 5 bars. It surprised me that I am getting Band 41 at the house and I am getting far faster upload and download speeds, so I don't see how the connection could be worse.

Yeah because you are downloading off your broadband instead of off the tower.

It is fake band 41 not real band 41. Basically the same as using your wifi (except it will count as data use on your Sprint account).

The connection will be higher speed alright, but not necessarily as consistent second by second.

If you put the Airave connected ahead of the computer on the cable, that is somewhat better because it helps prevent the computer from hogging all the bandwidth and crowding out the Airave. Probably that's what you just did.

Thanks, I will have to look further into it. I haven't even taken the MB out of the box it was shipped it, so I haven't seen any packing papers or agreement. I am using the Airave, but didn't notice an agreement. I will definitely look for it since you mentioned it.

I looked on a nationwide Craigslist site to see if anyone was selling theirs. People are definitely trying to sell Airaves, and I found 2 trying to sell MBs. Prices ranged from $12 to $100 LOL

I was getting both 25 and 26 at my house (seems to randomly change) and 2-3 bars of signal--with 2-5 mbps down and almost nothing up.. After setting up the Airave, I'm getting Band 41 in my house, all 5 bars, 35 down and 5 up. However, I'm getting dropped calls and some glitchy conversations. I called and asked tech support to help, which was an hour ago. We'll see it that improves. Ironically, I got no dropped calls or glitchy conversations when I had only 2-3 bars.
Yeah the older airaves(<mid 2017) were cdma/3G only.

I've wondered the same thing, to have as a back up. My guess would be the Motorola Moto E4 fully unlocked version. Roughly $130

This will also work, a step up from the E4 on sale, no tax

If you want a phone just to sign up (swap device later), probably a G4 play used. I used that one about 6 months ago to open my account

I bought Verizon iPhone 5C from eBay for like 30~40$ back in June 2017 for this deal, cause it won't have Apple iOS updates anymore (no iOS 11), and since it is Verizon it is fully unlocked and could go to Sprint without a problem. The phone was released almost 4.5 Years ago at (September 2013) so it's not very fast but it works for me.

I wasn't thinking in terms of used, I guess. There's always Swappa for that too. You should message the guy I was replying to, since he needs one

Any downside or issues with the ads on the phone? Plan on giving the phone to the wife to keep in the car for Waze.
