Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

This Ting table shows the exact Sprint sim part # for a device:

https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...ghttingsim

Once you have the right sim part # for your specific device go to a Sprint Corporate store and see if they have it. Also, if you tell them that the online rep told you to go to a Sprint store to get a sim card for free they may give you one free of charge.
You can also go to Best Buy, Apple store, etc.
Apple store sims for iPhones are free.
Best Buy, etc., you pay.

The Motorola E4, UNLOCKED and UNACTIVATED, for $130 at Best Buy is the cheapest new phone that qualifies for this free BYOD Sprint plan:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/moto...Id=5889300

The Verizon version of this phone does NOT work here and neither do the Virgin or Boost versions.
Thank you again! Didn't even think I could go into a corporate store and see if I can get a free SIM card. Doesn't hurt to ask, worst they could say is no and I walk next door to Bestbuy and put down $10 for the Boost set. Thank you so much! We are SD'ers here, man, I need to up my game, I've gotten soft on deals, but was never as good as some (read: all) of you guys in tech deals. The Ringplus deal was great while it lasted.

ETA: just to confirm I can have another line on this account of hubby's for another phone also free since we've been approved for 5 lines? Hubby might then be interested too, maybe...

Ringplus was good, haha... willing to put in a little more work for free, but we've been with Tello and we've had no drama with them. Smilie
I meant... What's a good $$$ unlocked phone deal that you would consider, and what type of phone? Everybody is allowed 5 lines on this deal.

yeah, you are right, all the inquiries I got are on Transunion, not Experian, which Sprint pulled.
I only noticed that the last 4-digit number on my Experian report is correct since I couldn't see the whole number, I'd better call Experian to double check my whole number. thanks!
Acording to
https://www.mybanktracker.com/cre...zon-273778

Sprint uses both Equifax and Experian. Plus who knows they may outsource identity queries to Lexis Nexis or others beyond those.

It might be easier to start on the Sprint side at a corporate store or with Marci.

But I understand it may not be worth the trouble.

For people in a similar situation:
You can get an AT&T prepaid sim card for 99 cents and it takes about 3 business days to get it, so if you order one or more today you'll probably have it/them by Saturday or Monday.
You may have to fund the AT&T Prepaid account with $10 but try it first without. It may work as it does with T-Mobile prepaid without funding. Worst case you may have to pay $10. Get the 25 cents/min plan.
Then you can port out of Sprint to AT&T, and then open another Sprint BYOD Free 1 Year account with a DIFFERENT SS # and then port back to the new free Sprint account from AT&T.
Again, you may need or may not need to fund the AT&T prepaid account to do the in/out portings. Just make sure you have the AT&T prepaid account # and its PIN that you'll create. The account # will probably be the phone # with or without an 1 in front. ASK the AT&T customer service rep for the account # and PIN. Without those you can not port to Sprint.

https://www.att.com/cellphones/pr...sku7420309

(Other posters have responded to the above post by phatrabbitzz in more detail here in the last few pages.)
Hey, I was wondering about the ATT route. ATT wants the IMEI to sell me a SIM card. Does it have to be the phone I'll be porting in, or will any compatible phone IMEI do, you think?
Next, if I fund $10 on the ATT SIM account and then port that line out and back to a new Sprint account, is that ATT account closed right away (and $ lost), or might it still be available to port in the next Sprint line from the old BYOD account? (ie. do I need different ATT SIMs for each line? If no, would it need be funded each time (if at all) or just once?)

Last question for most anyone if they know... I have a couple ATT SIM cards from new or used ATT Go Phone deals from a couple years back (Motorola E2, Nokia 635, Nokia 640). The phones were used on another carrier and so I never activated the SIMs (unless they were activated when the phone was ordered/shipped.) Can I likely use one of those to port out from Sprint, or would it have to be a new Pre-paid SIM?

I have 4 lines currently on Sprint BYOD free service that expires in July. I just want to confirm what i need to do to get this deal for another year.

1. Purchase 4 T-Mobile Sim cards from https://www.amazon.com/T-Mobile-P...e+sim+card

2. Put sim card in each phone and call T-Mobile Customer Care at 1-888-859-7186 and port the 4 phones over.

3. Wait ~ 3 hours and call Sprint at 866-782-8777.

4. Profit?

Few questions, do i have to buy a t-mobile sim for each phone and is there a cheaper way to get a sim? Are all t-mobile sims the same or are there different sim's per phone? Also, do i have to make a call or anything on t-mobile and there need to purchase a pre-paid card? Anything else i should be aware of?

Thanks,

Well, if I use my mom's SSN for a new line, that acct will be registered under my mom's name, correct? And I have to use her credit card or bank acct to set up auto-pay, and she can always get my call history, correct?

I don't know why so many of you seem to be at ease for using a different SSN to register a new acct.

The phone you'll be porting in is fine as is any compatible phone IMEI.
After porting out of ATT the account is closed right away, the $ is lost, and that sim card is useless.

You can file disputes with all 3 credit bureaus and get free credit reports and free access online:

https://www.ai.equifax.com/Credit...ome.action [equifax.com]

https://www.experian.com/disputes/main.html

https://www.transunion.com/credit...our-credit [transunion.com]

Also, you have the choice with some to see the entire SS # or the last 4 digits. Go for the whole thing!
called Experian, no way to verify the whole SSN with them over the phone, but they would like to send me a report which has the whole number, just have to wait couples of days. Thanks again bro.

yes, too much trouble, just gonna go with red pocket's 5gb data plan on AT&T network, only $10 more than sprint's "free" plan.

I don't know why so many of you seem to be at ease for using a different SSN to register a new acct.
Because a Sprint customer and his SS # is STILL considered a Sprint customer with an existing account for at least 45 days after he closes his Sprint account.
To get on this free BYOD offer you MUST be a NEW customer so people here use other SS #s.
Since this free BYOD offer will expire in 9 days there is NO TIME to wait and be considered a new customer again.

Your mom can get your call history ONLY if she knows the user name and password of the online Sprint account to log in.
But, hey, if your mom trusts you with her SS # and her credit card maybe you should trust her with your account!

Also Sprint has a TWO step online log in some times where it sends you a text code to your phone to be able to log in. Without access to your phone and that text code your mom can NOT log in to your Sprint online account to see your call history, assuming she already knows the user name and password.

Just to clarify I just picked up SIM's from Corporate store. They tried to find one lying around for free but sku'd "3 in 1" SIM was only three bucks.

Just moved my line out of Sprint, moved to T-mo and now back to Sprint. The whole roundtrip took 2 hours...that is I was with an experienced rep. She insisted I get the insurance though, which I will cancel tomorrow.

Thanks,
You don't even need to put the sim in the phone. All you need is the sim #s so that T-mobile can transfer you number over. Once the number is over to T-mobile, you don't have to touch the sim anymore. You don't have to wait 3 hours, I only waited 10 minutes (confirmed the number is moved) to initiate my transfer back to Sprint. You will need 1 sim per phone. You don't have to buy any pre-paid card.
