Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I bought the phones last year from B.B. on my account then ported out after a few days and signed up under wife's Ssn for byod plan. Should I port out just one phone initially to make sure I can get a byod plan using my ssn or is it less hassle to do all at one time? Any risk I will still show in the system as having a Sprint account now and be denied byod plan?
If you never provided your SSN to Sprint, you're eligible. When you enter your phone number and IMEI it'll show up as ineligible since it's in their system. What you need is a number and dummy IMEI to signup for this service. You can get a number from Google Voice and an IMEI (preferably for same model so you can reuse the SIM card they ship) from any* phone that's not been used on Sprint. There are several "slick" ways of getting an IMEI. Use this IMEI, new GV phone number and SSN to signup for this plan. Once you get the sim card, tell them you want to activate it on a different phone. They'll port out the "old" Google Voice number to your "new" phone. Then you'll need to port out all the current lines to another carrier and then port it back in to Sprint on the new account. Apple store can get you free T-Mobile SIM cards so you can port out all numbers to T-Mobile and then back to Sprint. There is no cost to this, however it may lead to a few hours of downtime.
It's better you start with one line at a time so you become familiar with the process.

Was able to port from Sprint BYOD to Tmobile and port back to Sprint BYOD using a different SSN. Used two TMobile SIM starter kits from Amazon to port out and re-used the Sprint SIMs to come back to Sprint. Service until 5/17/19.

Took a couple of hours being on the phone with Tmobile and Sprint but worth it.
That's good, for some reason when I did this my old SIM card locked up and I was forced to use the new SIM card they shipped to me.

That is what I usually do, port in a dummy number to make sure everything is ok cuz I have 5 lines and I don't want to risk it. After getting approved etc... I port out my Sprint numbers one by one, and port them back in to Sprint. then I port out my dummy number as I switch my 5th Sprint line to it's place. It's 45 days that you can be considered a new customer, if longer than that the better.

That is a paid plan called Unlimited Freedom. You are not on the Free plan.

Use Billing chat to get corrected. That way you get a transcript to document.
Thank you for reply.

I chat with Sprint billing specialist, but no luck. She couldn't help me, but the billing chat agent gave me phone number, so called, but again same thing they explain; I choose the plan, and the free plan only via promotion, so no plan conversion between two.
Very strange. Once I order SIM card via 1yr free promotion page, when the activate the SIM and phone, I couldn't see BYOD plan or free plan. I only remember Unlimited Freedom plan.

Anyway, I will contact one more agent tomorrow, and if not, then port out to Red Pocket. $65/month Sprint service is not for me.

Running into a problem here. I called to take advantage of this offer by bringing my line from Xfinity Mobile. I already have my another account through Sprint but my (minor) son uses it. I called twice and they said that my SSN is already being used for that line and therefore cannot take advantage of the offer. Anyone encounter this issue? I am just adding another line from another carrier - I thought that this was the offer, not just for new customers.

Any advice is appreciated.

Well a number of people have got it sorted out on the rare occasion when this happens. I think you will if you keep at it.

Since Billing did not help, I would suggest ask for Account Services to discuss cancellation. They have a lot of power. If you do cancel ask for your money back under Sprint's 14 day money back satisfaction guarantee.

If you want a Sprint executive contact you can email [email protected] who is a senior vice President

Since Billing did not help, I would suggest ask for Account Services to discuss cancellation. You do not have to actually cancel but you need to use the word "Cancel" to be routed to them.

They have a lot more power than ordinary agents and can probably fix your situation.

The bottom of the device eligibility checker now states:

Quote :
Savings until 5/17/19; then $60/mo. for line 1, $40/mo. for line 2 and $30/mo./line for lines 3-5. Reqs. AutoPay (discount applied w/in 2 invoices), new account, bring your own eligible device & Sprint SIM card. Savings claim compared to Verizon Unlimited rate plan for 1 line as of 5/31/17. Streams video up to HD 1080p, music up to 1.5mbps, gaming up to 8mbps. Data deprioritization during congestion. MHS, P2P and VPN reduced to 2G speeds after 10GB/mo. Other monthly charges apply.**
So the 5/17/18 expiration date does seem plausible since it now indicates free service through 5/17/19.

I cannot see that though so far.

My text seems to say "Save until 4/30/19" in one place and 5/31/19 in another.

Maybe my page has not refreshed yet.
I am seeing the 5/17/19 date at:

Does anyone know if the phone line (866-782-8777) for the BYOD free year plan work for 24 hours? If not, what are their working hours?

Similarly, what are the working hours for T-mobile pre-paid? Could someone confirm what phone number to call for T-mobile pre-paid? I found several different phone numbers and not sure which one is correct.

It was sprint v20. I doubt Verizon will work.
Thanks. You wouldn't happen to still know what were the SKU's of the Sim cards you used for the Sprint Lg V20 and G5? And/or if the same SKU applies for both LG phones?

My eBay Sprint Lg g5 IMEI shows it is eligible on Ting's and even Sprint's BYOD websites, but on Sprint's 1yearfree website, it says
"Ineligible, this phone does not qualify for this offer". Using my Verizon number.

I've never done this deal, so if the site won't let me order a sim, I'll have to get one at bestbuy and call in... There's no guarantees that another v20 will let me order a sim either. Or am I throwing good money after bad at this point?

So, I ported out two numbers from my original Sprint free year from July 2017 to T-Mobile, and used a new SSN to open a new sprint account, but when I did the port into sprint, one of the phone numbers had an inverted number. They actually called me to say the port wasn't working. Then they somehow caught the fact that the number went from Sprint to T-Mobile then back to Sprint in less than 48 hours; their words exactly. One number ported just fine, but the one I made a mistake is where they caught me, even though both ports were the exact same scenario.

So, I did the HUCA. They still continued to say that the number I was trying to Port over was not eligible, but they provided me a new "temporary" phone number on the one year free unlimited plan, and said that I could call back after couple days and then Port my old number over. Has anyone heard of that even being possible? I don't want to lose my number of 15 years(Well I won't actually lose it, but I won't be able to use it on the unlimited free year..) šŸ˜
