Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Did anyone sign up today and does their online account show savings through 7/31/19?

I just signed up last night and it was only through 5/31/19.

When I asked Sprint about it, they said the deal is only for 1 year of pricing, but I know others have gotten 13-14 months at times.

Is there any way I can cancel within 24 hours and have them set it up again as a new customer?

Basically, is there any way I can get it for the 14 months instead of the 12 given I just did it 12 hours ago?

@HunterOne Thanks for the response. I never got past checking the IMIE numbers so I never entered any of my sons info. I have called every sprint support number imaginable without success. One of the three phones is still illegible--none of it makes sense.

I would drive to the Sprint store right now for the ID check (it is 12 miles so they wouldn't override the requirement during the original call.), but why waste a trip if the phones are suddenly ineligible? And they did NOT give me any kind of number to give the Sprint store to go along with the ID check...I am not so much worried about the credit check anymore but what on earth is going on with the phones. Oh and there is only one day left so it doesn't look like this is going to happen.

As a last ditch effort, what happens if I just set up the account with the one phone that still comes up as eligible? Can I add the other two later? Probably not with the promotion expiring tomorrow....

How much time will I have between signing up and ordering the SIM cards and actually activating the SIM cards and porting my lines? I would like to sign up and order the SIM cards today, then wait to actually port the phone numbers until June 1st if the promo gets extended.
Can't do that. This is a one step process, not a two step one.
But if you do not pass the phone credit check and you are asked to go to the store with 2 pieces of ID then you have 30 days, I think.

You're dealing with Sprint here. You should leave it as is. You can port out and port back in under new ssn if you insist.

Without SIM cards won't the phones not get data, or is it only no LTE data until the SIM cards arrive?

Read the last few pages here. (The BYOD free offer has been extended.) DISREGARD this, NOW it looks as if tomorrow 5/17/18 is still the offer deadline.

Call the credit dept and get an application # for your store visit.
Get the account # at the store. Do NOT allow the store reps to put any plans in your account.
Call the BYOD toll free # and continue the account activation process.
Give them the ELIGIBLE device first.
The give them the other 2 devices. Often they can make these devices go thru even though they show ineligible.
You can always add other lines later.

I signed up yesterday, and called to ask about the date change. As I was speaking with the rep the date changed on the site from 7/31/19 back to 5/31/19. Could this have been a glitch/typo, or can anyone confirm that their account is good until 7/31/19. I'm having trouble getting my Google Voice number to port, so I can't see the expiration of the promotion in my Sprint account.

With Sprint, the Sim cards are MARRIED to the SPECIFIC device. No sim card no service.
Read the last few pages here about posts on this.

The practice of intentionally dropping a call is not something I have ever seen on an instruction or a policy in any call center job that I had worked. If you somehow think that it is, then I wont waste anymore time debating this with you.
your post didn't say anything about "intentionally" dropped calls.

Ironic that you're "dropping" this "debate" at the first sign someone disagrees with your lack of respect for the people who are just doing their job.

They will charge you for overage. You can a full Sprint account - any additional charges can be billed.
Quote from comintel :
It's complete nonsense. Some TeleSales reps will say that because they have no idea, but they can see that getting a new sim is obviously going to work. It is also a way for them to avoid dealing at great length with people who think they should be able to move a Sprint sim from one phone to another different model and want to know why it does not work.

Just call back and this time IF THEY ASK say it is a new sim card you hust bought at a Sprint store.

Also never ask any questions or volunteer any background. Just give them IMEI, ICCID, and number to port in

Well... I ran into my first glitch on these Port ins to the One Year Free BYOD Plan.
My two VZ numbers and the Google number ported over just fine.
So last night I ported over my Sprint phone number (on a iPhone 7, on a different account) over to T-Mobile prepaid, inserted the T-Mobile sim verified it said T-Mobile, and I did this when talking to a Human, not automated system. Even got a txt message on the phone from T-Mobile on the port over. Dialing a number on the phone also went T-Mobile. I'm pretty sure the T-Mobile port was totally successful since they were able to sent that txt to the phone.. I waited 2 hours to verify it was ported.

I then called the 8777 number to port my number back to Sprint.
All info was confirmed and dude said the port was successful.
I used the same SIM number for the port back as was in it before the port to T-Mobile.
I reset the network info on the phone the did the ##25327# and ##873283# commands.
The iPhone still says "No Service", but the number does show on my BYOD account as if the port went thru.
Going to https://www.sprint.com/en/my-spri...rting.html it shows "Pending".

I figured it might take some time so left it alone and waited until this morning before doing anything else.

So this morning I wake up and check the phone and it still has "No Service".
After resetting the Network Info and the ## commands this morning, it still says "No Service".
Now when I go to https://www.sprint.com/en/my-spri...rting.html
it says:
Status : Cancelled
Info : Call (877) 503-3269 for assistance.
Your number transfer was cancelled on 2018-05-16.
If you would like to re-initiate this transfer, please call us at (877) 503-3269.

Also. Now, when I goto my BYOD account, under Manage Devices, the iPhone 7 is still there, but it has a different number associated with it.
Do you think I just lost my phone number?

Guess I am going to have to call and see what is up.
Any suggestions???
Thanks!
FYI.
Looks like 877-503-3269 also routes to the porting department.
For anyone having this issue and your port shows canceled,
And you need to call in to fix this, don't give them the # you are porting in and was canceled. This will just confuse them as that # will show them a canceled Sprint account, from when it was ported over to T-Mobile.
Instead, give them a phone number on the BYOD account plus pin.
I then asked them to replace the new phone number listed on the account (she says that this is a new Sprint Phone number) with the number that I attempted to port in but it was canceled.
She then went on hold for a very very long time....
When she came back, she said she is getting an error trying port in the number from T-Mobile. (I am betting T-Mobile no longer has this number.
She said she is escalating this issue with their Level 3 Department and I will get a call back within the next 24-48 hours.

I just hit worst case scenario.
I think I have lost this phone number.

To be clear, I followed all the instructions to the letter and this is my fourth port-in.
I verified the port over to T-mobile when making a call from the phone and received a txt from T-mobile on the port confirming the new account with T-Mobile.
I also verified the old Sprint account showed canceled.
And I checked the IMEI and phone number at https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...phone=byod before calling Sprint on the 8777 number to initiate the port back from T-mobile to Sprint. Everything showed Green and Good To Go.
And when talking to the Sprint Agent on the phone during the port back, he said that everything was successful, and he read and had me confirm the terms and conditions.
He even asked if this was T-Mobile Prepaid and already knew to enter the account number as 1+phone# for the port. Everything went smoothly!

The only other thing I could have done is put money into the T-mobile account and waited a day or so more to verify I could dialout via T-Mobile on the iPhone.
And maybe call T-mobile to confirm the pin. (But I used the same pin for both the port over to T-Mobile, and on the new T-mobile prepaid account)
And wouldn't it fail immediately when attempting to port back over to Sprint and the shouldn't the Agent see that?

Also, if you see your port pending and it's been that way for a few hours, don't hesitate on calling in!! Call in to the port dept ASAP before the port gets canceled!!!!

I will update this post when Level 3 Sprint Support calls back on what the verdict is.
Good thing this was only my daughters account and phone number.
She is gonna bitch about losing the phone number, but at least it's not mine. Smilie

No, you're not.
There should be a human at this #. Try again.
Also, try the other #: (877) 503-3269
If both of these #s fail call Sprint CS at 800-SPRINT1 and ask to be transferred to the porting dept.
See my previous update just now.
It's now in Level 3 escalation in the porting department.
Pretty sure the number is gone.

Ported #s don't just evaporate. The # is probably in Sprint's system somewhere.
Especially porting from T-Mo to Sprint takes only a few minutes, at most 10-15 mins or so.

The # is either with T-Mo or Sprint.

I get:
The number 469625**** is a Mobile Phone by T-Mobile

And this number was initially created by Sprint on a new Sprint plan with new Sprint phone over 2 months ago to take advantage of the iPhone 7 deal for $299.
And it has been paid off and unlocked for use on any carrier for about 2 weeks now, and I confirmed this by putting my Verizon sim in the phone and making a call.

So the port to T-Mobile definitely went thru. Just the port back failed.
Any idea how long T-Mobile will keep it before releasing it back to the pool?
