Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

This Moto G6 Play is a brand NEW phone that was just released by Motorola in the U.S.A. a couple of weeks or so ago, and it's curently being released around the world.

Most likely the IMEI databases at Sprint and Boost may not be fully updated yet and this glitch exists but it'll close fast, if it's not closed already.
Sometimes, within the first 30 days after the release of a brand new model strange things may happen.
Most likely the case here is such a lucky glitch and anyone who manages to get in is lucky.
if this is correct, i would like to add it to one line on my family paid plan
(i know....its a long story why i have a paid account)

if successful, to add it on my account.. do u think they would boot it out later?

Purchase the Boost Moto G6 Play and ask Sprint to add the IMEI to their database. I did this yesterday and I'm using the phone today on the Sprint BYOD. The phone is $80 at Walmart.
What sim card did you use and where did you get it?

Can't believe I didn't notice this thread yetFrown
Need to add a line to my family plan, I think I'll add it and port it out to sprint. Would like to see how bad the service is. Did anyone try adding a tablet yet?

Can we reuse the old Sprint sim cards doing this method? We've got a family plan where some of the phones will not be physically present during the porting action. Hopefully reusing the old sim cards will result in very little disruption to the phones not physically present (i.e. only about an hour of downtime and a reboot required or similar).
yes old sprint sim cards can be reused.

This offer has now been open for going on a year.

All of the possible loopholes like that, all of which are now specifically excluded on the Sprint page, were tried out dozens if not hundreds of times in the first month alone. Alll were closed at that time. It never was possible to add a tablet for free - that never worked once for anyone and people still try.... all the time.
It is possibleto add a tablet to your account though and if you do, you will be charged on a paid plan basis.

Looks like he indicates that the Sprint Sim card that came with the phone was used:

Yes, I agree. I expected to be told the phone was ineligible for the plan. I questioned him a couple of times after he said I could do it. I finally told him it was a Boost phone and he said no problem. He first reported that he could see it was a Motorola phone. He also knew the ICCID number on the card that came with the phone.

Just wondering why the lines are messed up? We were very careful with the phone swap. They are adamant that everything on their end is correct.

how do you activate after receiving the sim? do you have to call in?
Yes, you should call in only the toll free # that's in the BYOD offer page and speak to CS instead of trying online and getting screwed.

NO tablets of any kind are allowed on this BYOD free plan for free. Monthly tablet fees are pretty high.
This has been covered a million times here.

SEARCH FIRST and read the thread WIKI before you ask any questions here.
You don't have to read the entire thread, just search first using INTELLIGENT and pointed terms, Do not do a shotgun search!

Must do your homework first before asking others for help here.

I've been on the Sprint BYOD plan since last July. I have two lines and I'm using a Unlocked Moto E4 and a Sprint iPhone SE. Today I purchased the new Boost Moto G6 Play at Walmart for $80. I figured I would play around with it for a couple of weeks and then return it, unless I could find a service to unlock it, which I doubt because is so new on the market.

It's a nice phone for $80, and I like the 18:9 screen ratio. My daily phone is the Samsung S8 Plus. I did not power it up with the Boost (Sprint) sim card in it. I removed the card before powering it up. I also tried a Verizon sim card and got the 'invalid sim card' message. Then I decided to try and swap out one of my phones on my Sprint account via a chat session.

I figured it would get declined, but I was told I could do it. It took him 30 minutes but he finally got the G6 Plus working on one of my lines. I asked him if he had to whitelist the IMEI and he said yes, that's why it took so long. I checked to make sure everything worked and ended the chat.

Unfortunately, I then realized the Moto G6 was on the wrong line number. I started another chat and they checked everything on their end, IMEI's, ICCID's and said everything was correct. We spent another 45 minutes and could not resolve the problem. He said to wait until the morning and if it was still a problem to call the advanced specialist number, which he provided.

Not sure why my account is now screwed up. I was very careful in providing information about the phones and sim card numbers. Has anyone else been able to get a Boost phone on this plan? When I first powered up the phone after they whitelisted the IMEI, I saw a popup message for a second, which said something about 'Unlock Sim ......".
I did use the sim card that came with the phone, it was installed in the phone when I removed the phone from the box. The sim card has the Sprint logo printed on it.

The line number problems that I experienced resolved themselves after leaving the phones on overnight. The following morning after doing another reactivation everything worked properly. Very strange.

I too was very surprised they activated the Boost phone. He knew it was a Motorola phone but he never mentioned the model. I finally mentioned it was a Boost phone because I didn't want to start the process and then be told they wouldn't make the swap. He didn't care that it was a Boost phone.

It would be interesting to see if someone else could replicate what I did.

so I ported out and then got a new account (new ssn). do I need to do anything to close my old sprint account so that 45 days later I have the option to open a new account again with that ssn?
Port out to close your old Sprint account. It's the most sure-fired way to do it.

I have a G4 play and ran across this comment in the no LTE section of the wiki.. "I saw purplesabrer's solution for Moto G4 Play". I'm having the same issue but cannot seem to find purplesabers method of fixing it in the threads. Any guidance appreciated as I'm not getting any LTE at all.

The administrative charge in my bill increased from $3.98 to $5, increasing my bill, in NJ from $6.90 to $8. Has anyone noticed something similar?
