Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

So I'm trying to port out and back in with my ssn (the current account is in my husband's), but they're telling me I have to go into a store with ID. Does anyone know why it's prompting this? The original rep thought it was because I had a sprint account in the past, like a year ago. I don't understand why I need to go into the store for this.
Try calling the Sprint Credit Dept directly and get them to ask a supervisor to override:

Thanks, I'll try it. Has anyone done this successfully? I'd really like to understand why it's flagging my identity.

It often does where people had a prior account and there is the slightest discrepency between the info. in the two accounts.

But the reaction varies - sometimes just calling another day will go through.

When I called I gave them all the info from my prior account right up front and had no problem.

But experience is all over the place. There is no rhyme or reason to it.

Well I called the credit number and they went through this whole process, but they couldn't change anything. I still have to go into the store.

a few folks on my account have the samsung emerge j3.
basic phone, for non power users
do u think there is any advantage with the g6 play for $80?
i didnt think there was much of improvement apart from larger screen?
the j3 emerge are fine for thier needs
suggestions from anyone is welcomed
I don't really think so. Also light users will be accustomed to Samsung UI.
I think it's great that some users are getting that boost G6 to fly on the BYOD but in your case maybe not worth it. We will find a couple of two-year-old flagships on the cheap soon. Maybe better to wait Just my O.

Oh well it was worth a try I think.

Best go to a Sprint-owned store for anything important like this (if there is one not too far away).

In any case, just have them set up an empty account - then go back home to call TeleSales to enrol in the free plan. Stores cannot do that reliably.

Just curious, what is your approximate monthly bill for the free unlimited?

"A standard $1.99 admin fee, $0.40 regulatory fee and other taxes and fees apply"
Fair to say $10/month? or is that on the high side?
Sprint just generated my invoice for new service (after I ported out to tmobile and back to sprint) and my monthly total is $3.84. This will, of course, vary based on your state's taxes.

That's not unusual. Wife had an account and closed 4 months back. We were told to go to a Sprint store (make sure it's corporate) and showed them what they needed, a couple of id's, then the credit dept phone rep asked my wife a couple of stupid questions etc, and they approved it. Store rep made the account number and pin was set up at that time. If you go to a Sprint store make sure you have a reference number that should be given by the free byod phone rep so the store can find your case right away.

My store rep knows about this plan and he was not pushing us to activate an account in store. Make sure you don't activate a line while in the store.

Where is the very first post that said 5/18/2018 is the deadline?

Before signing up again with different social security number after porting out to non-Sprint provider temporarily to use this service for another year, do I need to use the payment method that matches the name of person with the social security number? I'm curious whether they will match SS# when I sign up again with billing name.

Thanks for the info. So it does seem to be tied to having had a previous sprint account? Did your wife have to give them any info on the line being ported in, or can they just set up an empty account. I really hate having to go into the store!

How can you tell if a store is corporate?

Don't need to tell them anything except you applied for an account over the phone and the credit department said for you to go to a store and show them a couple of ids, drivers license, a utility bill and or a car registration. Also make sure you have that reference number that the phone rep should give you so the store rep has a reference to pull up your not set up "account" yet. The store rep was nice enough to entertain me and help us set up everything. We were the only customers at that time.

When I called a Sprint store and someone picks up it's most likely not a corporate store. Once you call a store and they give you the robo call run around press 1 press 2...That's i would guess a corporate store. 1st store I called someone answered right away and I asked them if they were a corporate store and he said no. I asked him what's the nearest corporate store and he provided me with the phone number and address etc.

What Genghis Khan said, also you can go to the Sprint store locator. Those listed as full service store are corporate.

The distinction (and often vast difference in experience) between corporate and non-corporate stores is definitely one thing I won't miss if/when the merger goes through.
