Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I could not find the system update profile nowhere on the phone. Even the tech guy remotely controlled my phone using tech expert app but failed. I got only 2 options for the system updates: check updates or updates history! very weird indeed

ps. not sprint logo appears on the phone.

Quote from comintel :
Update profile.in settings should do it.

Do you get the Sprint logo graphic when booting?

System Updates . Update Profile

Update Profile is in the Search if you search for it

Otherwise you are back level on the software.

If you do not see the Sprint yellow logo on startup that is another sign.

Do you have the 416Q sim?

When you insert the sim, phone should have converted from Verizon to Sprint. Do not abort this. It takes a minute or two.

Is the phone unlocked by Verizon?

Connect to Samsung Smart Switch on a PC and run recommended updates.

My sim card will arrive Mon so I ask in Chat if it's still OK to activate the sim with promotion that will end tomorrow, here's the answer:

Ronny Anderson: With the current information that we have available about the promotion it is not showing if the promotion will still be applied if the SIM card will be activated before the time frame, please get in touch with my colleagues at 866-782-8777. they will have all the details about the promotion and further assist with the information.
Chat never has any information about this promotion. They know nothing about it. It has always been call 866-782-8777 only.

But Sprint always honors orders that are already approved at the time a promotion ends (e.g, kickstart showed this) so I would not worry about it.

why not just go to a sprint store and buy the BOYD kit for $3 and activate it today? why risk it?
Sprint just called my home phone to let me know the service is ready. I told her my sim card is not here yet and she put me on hold to check. Moment later she came back and confirmed the sim card will be here Monday and told me to call them back to activate. So it's all good now I guess and I can just get another sim card from Sprint store to activate right away if I want but why spend more money and time to drive to the store, just wait for a couple days because I've been waited since this thread started last year. AND the price is $10 when I was at the store two days ago.

Just wonder my Google Voice is still working now while she said everything is ready, I thought I no longer can use GV. BTW, it's good to leave a number they can call you back like my case.

Good luck. Just cause they say something over the phone doesn't mean it's correct. It's not in writing so you really have no leg to stand on.

You need to call sprint again to activate the porting of GV. Wait for 6 minutes and restart the phone and the sprint id loader will start updating the phone. When you go back to the GV account, you will see a message saying " there is no number to port out".

Good luck

FYI: you do NOT need a new SIM card to re-port back to Sprint: I just ported it out to Tmobile and re-signed back two lines to Sprint by using the old Sprint SIM card w/o any issue - just let them know you already had the SIM cards ready, easy to save some $$s.

Good luck.

Well, bad news. Finally got someone that was willing to help me. We got to the point where they ran my credit and they had to contact the credit department. I answered multiple public record questions and I was approved for 5 lines. Great!

But then the representative said there was a problem and put me on hold. She came back and said that there was an account that already exists with someone else's name and my SSN! They owe over $1000! Ultimately I was not able to get an account set up and they recommended filling out a fraud packet and filing a police report. It takes up to 30 days to process. I check my credit report each year, and I have never had Sprint and never see anything on my report about this.

So it looks like I'm out guys. I feel like a sucker paying to port out 5 lines to virtual SIMs when I would never be able to open an account with Sprint.

For now I set up an account with Unreal so I could at least have something to use when away from the house while I shop for a new plan with someone else. Any suggestions?

Edit: As a last ditch effort I may try to get someone at Sprint who will delete my Wife's old account and get us set up on another free year. Doubt it will work but worth a shot.

If the 30 days to process the report is the problem, you can eliminate that by filing at
https://www.identitytheft.gov/
which counts as a law-enforcement agency and will give you a report right away that credit bureaus will accept so Sprint should also I think.

Actually I think that has a good chance of working also.

Some reps will do it. Ask every rep you talk to until you find one that will.

I guess they ran away (to another address) after they failed to pay Sprint $1000? Who is going to find and catch them?

One is a minor, the other two are my parents. My brother just signed up for another year, so we could at least put four of the five lines on his account if need be.
