Nowadays, all are LTE carriers, all needs SIM card.
iPhone 6 plus is compatible with GSM\CDMA\WCDMA\LTE..
once it is on Sprint, you can swap the t-mobile SIM to back on t-mobile network at anytime
Thank you. I will lose my grandfathered plan but there will be other cheap options available like Mint Mobile
Now since Sprint checks credit I should apply for any credit card deals before they run my credit to be safe.

applying for new credit cards can actually lower your credit score in the short-term. Hopefully you have at least one credit card that you can sign up for auto-pay. I would try to get Sprint approval before applying for new cards.

What happened with your next bill? Did you get a prorated credit for the TEP charge?

I saw the charge just minutes after the phone was activated and removed it. Looking at my first bill a week later, I'm seeing the $9 TEP charge. If I shouldn't expect them to automatically credit me on the 2nd bill, I guess I can only call/chat to get the charge removed?
I only paid for DPP for 1 day, about $0.80. I saw a credit of $1x.xx on my first bill.

Good Question. Thanks for reminding me!
Yep. They removed most of it.
Note: I didn't remove it from the account until the next day.
From the next bill:
Cancelled: Apr 06 - May 01
$13 TEP Plus - Includes insurance
-$11.27

$1.73 isn't enough for me to deal with them on getting it refunded.
I'm probably in the minority for most of the cheapwads on SD Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Good to know it's done automatically--thanks. I won't bother calling then. In this case it's not the money so much as the principal--I don't like being charged hidden fees when it wasn't expressly stated at the time of signup.

Since you had two days of "coverage", $1.73 sounds about right. Others did the math, and it comes to about $0.80 per day.

Yup, this is a very good deal. but too good to be true.
I have 2 iphone 6s plus which i wanted to apply on this promo. both phones and numbers i provided were eligible. comes the sim card, i was also speaking to a customer service to assist with the activation (though i can do it on my own just following the instructions on their site).
I followed the activation process correct. 1 sim works fine and the other doesn't. i am speaking to the customer service and gave me more steps to be sure that activation is done correctly. the bottom line, they told me that there is something wrong with my device which I doubt it because it works perfectly with my previous provider.
the next day, i spoke to another customer rep. (better from the first rep i spoke) same, we go through resetting the network and dialing ##clear#, turning the phone off and on, but still it has no service. i was transferred to a tech and another dedicate team. they said that there is something wrong with the SIM and that they will send me a new one for free. I did not want to wait for 3-5 days for the SIM so i asked if i could pick up at a store. They checked a store near me if they have a SIM on their inventory and there was so the scheduled me an appointment.
That afternoon i went to the store and told them i have an appointment. the sales rep asked me to take a sit and wait. I was really unhappy because he's making me wait for i do not know what reason and didn't even try to refer me to other sales rep. there's a lot of sales rep and only 1 customer.
i cannot wait any longer so i stood up and spoke to that sales rep. he asked me again. so i told the issue and gave me a temporary sim and was told that the SIM similar to what i have to be replaced is not available. he said that if i want the same SIM i could get it for 3.99. I'm so mad that i made my husband speak to them. they are doing some troubleshooting on my phone but it didn't solve the issue. with the other SIM that is working fine, signal was great but intermittent in some location. we tried GPS with the very good signal and we almost got lost because it lagged.
i spoke to a cust. svc through chat requesting for a refund because i was really unhappy of the service.
yes you can get the deal and would be paying probably less than $10 a month which is a lot of savings, but you might not want to risk it.

Does it say "TEP Plus" in the bill?

Not sure why my taxes so high?
I have 3 Free lines and 2 Kickstart lines:
Sprint Surcharges $16.19
Government Taxes & Fees $6.94
Administrative Charge is $12.50

You can pick up a sim for an iPhone free or at low cost at most Apple stores. Or buy the Boost sim kit for $9.99 at Best Buy.

I know sales reps tell people to go to Sprint stores but a Sprint store can be about the worst place to go in terms of consistency as staff may be almost entirely commission-based and under no obligation to help free plan customers.

Also be prepared that it may not be the sim at all. It may be something else. In fact I doubt it is the sim. Phones can be tricky gizmos to configure and troubleshoot.

i think i'm fine. even if its working but like what i said that i were to use GPS even if signal bars are full, the GPS is lagging/would stop working. and signal is intermittent. even if you are somewhere you know that signal should be good.

but i congratulations to all those who are able to activate it successfully without any problems.

Finally, I ported out to T Mobile and port back to Sprint and get another year free. Here are some lessons:
1) I activated T mobile prepaid online and paid $3 monthly plan. The account number is no longer 1+ phone number. It is 9 digital number and I had to call to get.
2)Adding a line to exiting free line from My Sprint online account will not get the free plan. It is $65 plan instead. I had to call and manually had it added.
3)I used Ultra Mobile sim card to activate T mobile service. The phone shows Ultra Mobile but my account is with T Mobile. I guess other T Mobile MVNO sim cards can be used to activate T Mobile service.
4)The porting process was fast, the phone was released immediately and available for re-activation with Sprint.

Where did you get the sim from? And how much?

Do you need new sim or can you use the previous SIM card? Thanks.

Ultra mobile used to give their sim card for free upon request several years ago. The Sprint sim card can be re-used.

If going from Virgin Mobile to T-Mobile to Sprint; do I have to use someone else's SSN?

Waiting for Virgin Mobile to unlock my iPhone SE. Hope to complete the swap tomorrow.

Quote from ultrasoul :
For existing customers whose 1 year BYOD plan is expiring and want to renew another year of free BYOD, fastest easiest port out to T-mobile using $3.25 digital T-Mobile SIM card from eBay and port back in to sprint for another year of free 1YR BYOD a new social security number

1) First, have your Sprint account number and PIN ready.
2) Order the $3.25 digital T-Mobile SIM Card from eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/232826650551
3) You don't have to recharge/reload the SIM. Once receive the digital SIM card number, call Tmobile customer care 1-877-778-2107 to port your sprint number to Tmobile. Just give them your Sprint Acc. no, PIN , Phone number and T mobile SIM card number
4) Your number will be ported to T mobile in less than 5 minutes. Your Tmobile Account number will be your phone number prefixed by 1 Ex: 1 214-xxx-xxxx and the pin number will be the one that you setup initially during the porting or activation process.Note that for each line in Tmobile prepaid, it will be a separate account number i.e. the phone number of each line prefixed by 1 for that line. Again PIN number would be what you have set during number porting/activation for each line.
5) Wait for about an hour and Chat with Sprint Customer care and verify if your account is cancelled. Someone mentioned you can also check the status on sprint byod page with IMEI number.
6) Now call back sprint telesales number and port your Tmobile number to Sprint with a different SSN ( a family members)
7) After about 45 mins or so with all credit check etc done, you are good to go for another one year.
