searched the wiki did not find it, but not sure it was later discussed.

I am already on Sprint Free plan.
my phone number remains the same? while porting out to T-Mobile and porting back into sprint with new SS account.

That is correct and yes it is all in the wiki notes. Common sense.

if u r on V u do not need to go to NB

go straight to S
My understanding is that his wife's phone is currently on his dad's Sprint account. And he/they want to open a new Sprint byod free account with his wife's SSN using that same phone and number. In which case they would have to port in to and then out of NB. Which I think is still less of a hassle, especially if unsure of what you're doing. I think NB sends or gives you the port out info. Easier than a possible tmo snafu.

I just looked into porting to MetroPCS for the free iphone se (or $49 iphone 6s). It seems like I'll have to pay at least 1 month upfront ($80 for 2 lines) and the activation fee ($20 for 2 lines)?

Is there a way to do the MetroPCS stuff without such a high cost, especially since I'll have to port out within a few days?
No. But you'll gain knowledge and $500 worth of smart phones that you can unlock and resell. I'm not the one to ask about unlocking.

Knowledge of the Metro network capabilities I mean. But I'm not sure when this promotion will end. You can always downgrade your plan with metro and get another phone or two like the Moto g6 play for $100 and use the free Sprint plan.

For A) existing customers whose 1 year BYOD plan is expiring and want to renew another year of free BYOD OR B) customers on Sprint MVNO's i.e. Tello/Ting/Virgin/Boost, the fastest easiest is to port out to T-mobile using $5 digital T-Mobile SIM card from eBay and port back in to Sprint for another year of free 1YR BYOD.

If you are existing Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days, you will need a new SSN (friend/ family). If you are porting from a Sprint MVNO you don't need a new SSN as long as you weren't a Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days.

1) First, have your Sprint/ Sprint MVNO account number and PIN ready. Ensure that you have a Sprint eligible phone and compatible Sprint SIM card (Sprint SIM can be reused)

2) Order the $5 digital T-Mobile SIM Card from eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/232903327738. You will purchase 1 unique digital T-mobile SIM for each line you want to port as each digital SIM can be used only/ consumed only once.

3) You don't have to topup/ reload the Tmobile digital SIM. Once receive the digital SIM card number, call Tmobile customer care 1-877-778-2107 to port your sprint number to Tmobile. Just give them your Sprint/ Sprint MVNO acct number, PIN , phone number and T mobile SIM card number. If rep asks for an activation code tell them it is not necessary- only the SIM card number is needed.

4) Your number will be ported to T mobile in less than 5 minutes. Your Tmobile Account number will be your phone number prefixed by 1 Ex: 1 214-xxx-xxxx and the pin number will be the one that you setup initially during the porting or activation process. Note that for each line in Tmobile prepaid, it will be a separate account number i.e. the phone number of each line prefixed by 1 for that line. Again PIN number would be what you have set during number porting/activation for each line.

5) Wait for ~ 20 minutes to verify the completion of the T-mobile port and the cancellation of your Sprint account. Port is complete when your existing Sprint/ Sprint MVNO phone stops working (no calls/ no text/ no internet)

6) Now call back sprint telesales number 1866-782-8777 to sign up for the 1 year BYOD free plan and port back your number from Tmobile with a new SSN if you were an existing Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days.

7) After about 45 mins on the phone call, you are good to go for another one year. Verbally confirm that the representative waives the $30 activation fee per line as part of the promotion. In addition, ensure the rep DOES NOT add insurance on your phones to the billing- Sprint reps have been known to be unscrupulous and add insurance without your knowledge. Ask the rep to notate your account that you signed up for the BYOD 1 year $0 promotion for both lines in case the rep misapplied the promotion. In addition, ask the rep for your new Sprint account number and notate this down for future reference.
Just did this. Worked perfectly!

Thanks for the response. I contacted TING customer service and they fixed it.
Activated to sprint again.
Is your phone purchased from Ting? How did they fix it, my Moto E4 was on Tello, but they said, it was released and not on their database anymore.

Same for me, Tello tech support was off for weekend and I had already ported out, so had Literally Unlimited on reddit make it eligible for Sprint coming from Tello.

I have an iPhone 6s that doesn't have a phone number associated with it. It's clean and I had a good Sprint sim card. So I got a new number from number barn...and when I called to port it to Sprint, the guy kept asking me what service it was with (TMo, VZW, ATT, etc). I kept saying it's parked at number barn, but he didn't like that answer. To use a number barn phone number, do we need to sign that number up to another service (like TMo), or can you just use it from number barn directly? I gave up, and just ported a Google Voice number over to Sprint, which seemed to work (I hope).

I suppose you are looking at at the end date on some internal Sprint schedule?

However, it says the offer ends Sept. 13 on the 0fficial Sprint video. I do not think they would say that if there was not at least a possibility they would stick to it.

You could end up being right, but we also have to give some heed and caution to the video.

They never heard of "parked" and parked would not be eligible. They are just looking for a carrier name to type in to their screen. They could not care less what it is but have to have some carrier name to type in. You are supposed to be moving service from another carrier. I think I might say Numberbarn or Bandwidth.com (which they use).
Or just try another rep.
