Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

a few weeks ago.
i bought a z2 from BB at the higher "activate later" price. ($160).
(still full price)
i added it to my 1 Y F BYOD plan w/o issue
sprint has locked it for 50 days
That phone was not sold as unlocked. An unlocked phone won't be locked by sprint.

Keep in mind that Sprint automatically locks your phone to their network (even though you own the phone outright) for a minimum of 50 days.

If you plan to leave Sprint, you need to submit an unlock request through them prior to porting your phone to a different network - this can take 3-5 business days.

Plan accordingly!
BS. Sprint can't lock an unlocked phone.

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S9 requires SIM card Part SIMOLW406TQ. However, this SIM card is not used by an iPhones. Any way to get it free since the Apple store would not have it then? I asked several Sprint stores and they require a cost. Or does anyone know a specific Sprint store who can just give them for free?
Another question: For a new immigrant who has a SSN but lack of credit history, if they try to open this free plan, will there be any obstacles such as Sprint not being able to verify the person? And will the person require to pay a deposit for this free plan?

Also, if anyone has an answer to the previous question would be appreciated.

thank you for the heads up. what happens that might cause me being on the phone for an hour with them if you don't mind me asking.
semifastwhen I did it it took about 20 minutes. You have to go through a credit check/identity check, which requires a different department get on the line.
You may be on hold for a few minutes to even get to someone. Then there is the hard credit check. If all goes well there, it's getting all of your info for the port to Sprint. A port can be as little as 20 minutes to 48 hours, but usually take less than an hour. If your phone doesn't work right away, there my be some troubleshooting involved. I have five lines. When I ported the first three, line 1 took about an hour and then porting the other two took a total of about an hour, as well. I did this in early afternoon on weekdays. On weekends it may take longer due to higher call volume.

Hi there,

I have just moved to the US and want to talk advantage of this offer. I have my own device (Moto G) which I believe is eligible.

I do not have any existing line in the US. Can I still take advantage of this deal? If I've understood correctly then the answer is YES, but I need to:
1. Get a number to port from Google Voice or Number Barn.
2. Get a compatible sim card from bestbuy or twigby

Is that correct? I'm a little confused about why I need to purchase a sprint sim card as well - then I will have 2!

Help appreciated

I'm not sure if you have an SSN(which is a must for this plan). But you'll have to do the below steps

- create an account in Google voice and unlock your number for $3. Set a voicemail pin.

- call sprint for credit check, eligibility check and get an account created. Tell them you are porting from bandwidth.com. Ask them the sim card type that your phone will support.

- go to the sprint store and get that sim card for free.

- call sprint again and Complete the sign up.

What are the best APN settings for Android? Did a quick search and there seems to be a few out there.
FYI, The T-Mobile S9+ received update BRJ5 today 11/7 that should enable auto brand switching. If you got update it should auto switch to Sprint software after update.

You get that charge if you sign up online, but they credit it back in 2 billing cycles and you can use up the credit over time.

It is so stated in the terms in the Sprint page for this offer..

If, instead of signing up online, you call to sign up, which as you may know from the Wiki is what is recommended there, there is no such charge in the first place because they waive it up front.

You can chat to confirm that it will be credited in your case.

I've never dealth with CDMA, yet Sprint. Can anyone help me understand:
Phone requirements - does iPhone 6 or SE has to be a Sprint version? Are they still using CDMA or LTE all the way?
Also, what is the process of switching phones - simple SIM card swap or more?
Thanks

I am a returning customer to Sprint who signed up second term of this plan. At the end of my one year term and before signing up second term I realized my phone was locked to Sprint and I had to request unlock, before continuing to sign up with BYOD plan.

So I confirm Sprint locks your phone to their Network, uncertain for how many days.

he didn't say anything about an unlocked phone getting locked. He is talking about a Sprint phone being activated on Sprint for the first time.
