Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

easy to do via chat only, do not use the word upgrade, use phone swap, old phone died, girlfriend gave me a new phone, etc.

no you cannot just swap the sim card like other carriers
Thanks ... BUT Are you certain? Under my sprint.com account with 4 lines, if I choose the device I want to swap out, there is one option "Activate a new phone" where it asks in same page deactivate old (current) & activate new one asking for just IMEI/MEID twice. Interesting in that same page, after entering IMEI/MEID twice there is a button to "Check:" whcih I asume will tell me eligibility etc.-- AND on the same page there is a button at the very bottom to "Ready to swap (Continue) (Cance0) " options.

Seems like that will do it but wanted a confirmation from others here who have done it, or found that screws up the free offer etc, and that chat is indeed required .... either way would be great to know!

How would that work? sprint agent told me that i can't do another credit pull for 60 days because the same declined info will be pulled up.
Do not ask those reps. Call the credit department directly at the number I gave you and explain the situation. As I said, there are paths around this right now. I know the ways but it is best if I do not set them out because when I do then people call up and ask for those specific paths without explaining their situation in detail, which jinxes it. It is better to ask for their help and let them come up with the ways. Believe me, they exist. Ask them to consult with a Supervisor. Sprint is not necessarily as rigid as they appear.

If that does not work out, further escalation is next....

That path you describe is EXACTLY correct.

Many of us do them that way all the time.

That is the better way to do it but we just say chat because a lot of people are not up to doing it properly online.

By the way it will transfer you to Chat the first few times anyway usually but I still always start them off the way you describe as it organizes it nicely.

You can do this any time at all starting on Day 1 and it will not cause any problems with the free plan..

Super - thanks. Now is that, under the sprint.com account, a better place to check IMEI eligibility for swapping or here https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...print.html or both are equivalent?

I am finding my new Pixel 3 XL i(BB 400off deal) is showing for its IMEI "This phone can't be activated online, Please chat with Care so we can help." at the link [sprint.com] -- but then I just moved it off of Verizon after activating & paying off yesterday on to H2o wireless and it might be not fully reflecting in some form or some such (no good way to know though carrier check shows that (disposable) number is on AT&T (of whichi H2o is a MVNO).

Anyway to find out the reason why Sprint BYOD check may be asking for chat to check on eligibility, possibly as Pixel 3, or due to transfer completion issues? I have in the past transferred other lines to this BYOD free 1 yr plan same day from 1-2 carriers in sequential manner.

Am trying to port over using the 8777 number from Verizon, the reps take forever and keep getting disconnected/asking for the same info over and over. This is painful. No lucky after 3 hours today, they couldn't verify the sim they sent me with their own system. We'll try again tomorrow.

Check the IMEI in the Ting and Tello checkers and then again on the Sprint checker. That should force a refresh to the Sprint database which usually clears it.

Just fyi you are answering a question from a year and a half ago. No harm done because it's a point worth repeating though.

Only 45 days is required.

Just call again and in the unlikely event that the rep you get this time is as ignorant as the first, point out to them that the Sprint definition of a new customer (eligible for new customer only promotions) is one whose SSN has not been used on Sprint in the past 45 days. Tell them to feel free to confirm with their supervisor if in doubt.

What rule have they changed? There is no change in the definition of "new customer" eligible for new customer promotions.

I think what you are noticing is just ignorance on the part of a few reps as to what the rules are.

Sprint said: This phone can't be activated online
Please chat with Care so we can help.

Ting said: Great news!
Your phone is compatible with Ting!

Tello said Awesome!
Your phone wants to join Tello!

Then on again asking, Sprint said (sadly, again):
This phone can't be activated online
Please chat with Care so we can help.

Maybe I need to wait a bit more ? Above were done in succession.

Well at least you have verified that it can be activated on the Sprint network (Tello for sure) so that is super.

Maybe it's the phone number? You can try this other Sprint checker: https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...=LP%3ABYOD

Other than that, I would go ahead and Chat.
