Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Sounds like you've got a pretty clear graphs on what your choices are. Are you asking someone here to make the decision for you
Thanks. But I am really at a cross road. Sorry if I asked a question hard to have answers. Just wonder if you were on my shoes , what 's your choice. Thanks again.

FYI old ebay link is dead but here appears to be similar:

for #9....it is good to download "hangouts" and "hangouts dialer" on your phone just in case the sprint network is temporarily unavailabale for whatever reason. hangouts dialer will let you call any US number (cellphone or landline) for free using WiFi. so it is a very good back up in case there is a problem with your porting and don't have a working phone to call sprint or tmobile rep.

I need a little help please, I am on the free Sprint plan till Jan 31 (3 lines). I want to go for 2nd free year so I was planning to follow the link to t-mobile instructions. But my galaxy s7 IMEI is not compatible with the t-mobile network (2 other phones are OK). What should I do?
i think......i think....you can put in any other spare imei# if you have any since all you need the tmobile for is for porting in and porting back out to sprint right away....just like the esim situation, you are not inserting the esim into your phone anyway. so the esim is like a ghost sim card and a spare imei# can be used like a ghost imei# which you can put in just to let the process through. wait and see what others experts say...:-)

I'm thinking of picking this up(MotoG6) for $150 and activating it with my current verizon service at the store.
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/moto...Id=6221370 [bestbuy.com]

Then I would have it ported over to Sprint for this free promotion.
See any issues arrising from doing this?
Heading to Best Buy shortly.
just came from bestbuy and looked at the Moto G6 and Moto G6 play, nice display and body seems solid and decent. don't forget to also buy a compatible spirnt sim card for your Moto G before you leave the store. once you have your new Moto G i would check its imei# on sprint's byod checker just to make sure all is good. once all is good, just call Sprint's toll free # dedicated for this promo and port . you have to know your verizon account number and pin number. you have to give sprint your Moto G imei# and your sprint sim card #. so really no need to activate the Moto G on verizon, although you can easily do that by just popping in the verizon sim into your new phone. enjoy....

As already noted by hodaddy and Desi, just to paraphrase, and be very explicit,

(1) If you do it right now, you get an end date of Jan 31, 2020.

(2) If you wait just to later this month and they extend it then to say April 30, 2020, you probably have a free window right there to do it then and get those extra months.

If you wait to later this month and it turns out they say it will NOT be extended, you can at worst just stay where you are until April 2019, or quite POSSIBLY even still get the Jan, 31, 2020 end date if you can act fast and have a second SSN, depending on timing.

There could always be twists and turns such as changes in the offer.

Personally I am taking choice (2) but it depends on personal circumstances.
Thanks. This is optimal ( #2) , I guess.

Install LTE discovery app and check which LTE band is giving you a hard time.
Sprint got 25 (1900mhz), 26 (850mhz) and 41 (2500). 26 is the best for penetrating buildings and distance wize, 25 is next and 41 is for capacity.

So, if your phone chooses 25 or 41 - try disabling them following these instructions:

To get better data I had to disable LTE Band 25 and 41 on our phones. That forces it to use Band 26 which is giving us much improved data/internet.

In some areas we drop down to 3G but that is usually plenty good enough to use, we even watch live IPTV sometimes, even when the phone shows as only on 3G. We normally get 4-6 Mb download and upload speeds around this area. Not great speed but plenty useable.

1) To disable Band 25 open the phone app and try *#*#3282#*#* or ##3282## depending on the phone.

2) Select "LTE".

3) Select "Bands".

4)Tap on the menu, which on our phones is in the upper right corner and select "Edit". When it asks for the Passcode or MSL try 000000 which is the MSL on most of our phones. If that doesn't work you may need to call or chat with Sprint to get the MSL for your phones.

5) Select "Band 25 Enabled" and select "Off"

6) Select "Done" and get out of the app and reboot the phone. It should now be using Band 26
excellent advice, most don't know how to troubleshoot their phone and sprint's network. once they see it is not working that is it for them. it is like buying a $1,000 phone and not using it's features to its full potential.

It is probably some specific Sprint sim, but without knowing which one, you cannot be sure which phones it would work with.

You have to use the specific Sprint sim card required by your particular phone as described in the Wiki, This is not just a matter of size at all.

There are many different Sprint sim cards of the same size and you cannot interchange them or use them except in the specific models for which they were intended.

See the Wiki for a link to the chart and get the specific sim you need according to your phone model. Max cost is $2.99 from any CORPORATE-OWNED Sprint store (free in some cases).
Thanks for the info. I just realized Net10's BYOP starter kit doesnt have a Sim for Sprint. I'll try a Sprint store again.

It is my bet and I think others were seeing advantages to it too, although there are scenarios where it could go wrong.

There is also a third choice, which is to bet on two further extension announcements, but that might be getting very close to merger date and I am not going to take that chance.

In general only Corporate-owned stores will give them or sell them cheap. They should all have them. The 4-in-in-kit covers all phones for $2.99.

Sprint is the strictest of all major carriers and will never activate a foreign phone unless you can get Apple to first re-SKU it as a U.S. phone (which they are not going to do for a phone bought on EBay)..
So you are saying that these are not US phones, but phones from overseas that these sellers are selling in US and hence marked bad ESN? My understanding was that these are US carrier phones (since they are labeled as Sprint phones) that are blacklisted due to being marked stolen or unpaid balance on the account. Who the F will buy this crap...just trying to understand what is really going on.

You actually don't need to give T-mobile an IMEI at all. You are porting the phone number using the SIM card number. On the phone, I have said I don't have the phone yet. Online, you can check the box to skip the IMEI.

Oh, I misinterpreted what you meant when you mentioned "international carriers". I did not read closely enough.

No, if they are Sprint phones with bad ESN then I agree they are exactly what you said, and completely useless except for people willing to piece together phones.
